The World of Vestrela

The land of Vestrela is home to 6 large landmasses, and 13 total nations spreading across those landmasses. On the land outside of these nations, stretches miles of unsettled land. Even within the boundaries of each nation, large expanses of wilderness can be found. Humans are the most common race, spreading across the entirety of the 13 nations. Within those nations, they live alongside one or two other dominant races. Nomadic or reclusive races that are still present in civilization despite their low numbers include the Drow, Tiefling, Aasimar, Genasi, Revenant, Kenku, and Githzerai.

Natural portals, referred to as Rifts, can be found in remote and heavily guarded locations around Vestrela. These Rifts are mystical tears in the fabric of the planes. They serve as doorways from the Material Plane to the 6 Inner Planes. Each Rift leads to a remote location in whichever plane it leads to. For instance, the City of Brass can't easily be reached by venturing through the Rift leading to the Fire Plane. These Rifts are found outside the borders of any of the 13 nations. Outer Planar Travel requires transport through spells or man-made portals, as there are no Rifts to any of those planes.



  • Erios is the largest landmass in Vestrela and inspired by your typical fantasy world. It contains all kinds of geographical features including icy coasts, snowy peaks, rocky mountains, thick forests, rolling hills, grassy plains, murky swamps, and various lakes and rivers. Erios is bordered on the east by the Zur Ocean and the west by the Glassy Sea. Down in the darkest caverns of Erios resides the Shadow Rift, which corrupts the nearby land and causes Erios to be the only landmass with an Underdark. Erios is home to the nations of Osnyea, Khernrhug, Drakoria, and Smolton.

The Pantheons of Vestrela
In Vestrela, each nation has its own Pantheon. There are 4 overarching Greater Deities that exist in all pantheons, due to the fact that humans are a dominant race in each nation. Narrowing it down, each landmass has shared Lesser Deities that all nations within recognize. A nation's unique Lesser Deities are then determined by the creator deites of whatever the dominant races are within that nation. So, a nation's pantheon is a combination of World Deities, Regional Deities, and Racial Deities. Other deities exist outside of these nations, but are only worshiped by lesser creatures, like gnolls, bugbears, kuo-toa, sahuagin, and yuan-ti.



  • The World Deities are greater deities that created humans. Though they exist on the Prime Material Plane as various concepts, they do not interact with the people of Vestrela directly. Instead, they seek champions to spread their word, the chosen appearing randomly throughout history.

    • Pelor, God of the Sun- Exists as the sun. (Life, Light)
    • Selune, Goddess of the Moon- Exists as the moon. (Knowledge, Life)
    • The Raven Queen, Goddess of Death- Exists as the mortality of all living things. (Life, Death)
    • Ioun, Goddess of Knowledge- Exists as the intelligence of all living things.(Knowledge)
