The Princess and The Sol

Sol looked at her and dropped his hand. "Oh that. I got it by being tortured." He shrugged nonchalantly, like it was no big deal. "I got some good information out of them after though." He smiled and grabbed for his shirt. He felt exposed at that moment. He pulled the shirt on and it clung to him because of the water.

Luna's face fell and she climbed out of the water then walked over to him and lifted his shirt, looking at the rather large scar. Her hand came up and gingerly ran along the scar, stopping at the top of his belly button as her eyes knitted together. "Was this..during the war?" She asked, her voice and eyes unreadable as she continued to feel the scar, caring not for how close she was to him, that she was bare to the world, or that in was very improper to do such a thing.

He only nodded once. He couldn't speak. No one has asked about the scar, and he was sure no one would care either. But here she was, his princess, caring for his health.

Luna closes her eyes and shakes her head, mumbling incoherently. "Are the rest of them from the war as well?" She asked, her voice now gone hard as she pulled back her hand and lowered his shirt, her eyes open once more, the look in them cold and spiteful. Luna was very unhappy, not with Sol, but because of how the scar had happened. It was on her own call that it likely happened, and this made her furious.

"And I made the call." Luna admitted, her voice unwavering as she turned from him and slipped her dress on with ease, not caring that it clung to her as she began her walk back to Nightmare. Why. Why did father have to get ill during war times? Surely he knew I couldn't make the calls. Many died because my foolish calls. Sol was harmed in so many ways. I could of pulled him out. I knew there was a solider who been caught and tortured..but I didn't know it was him. The information we got helped earn us the victory...but at the cost of him.. Her mind seemed to turn several things of the eact nature like that in her head, many times did she question how she was ever going to rule as a good queen.

Sol grabbed her arm and crushed her slight frame to his. "Enough. Knock this shit off Luna. You will be queen soon. People will die for you. I will dies for you." He pulled her back and cradled her face in him calloused hands." You are my queen. I will take torture and death to ensure your safety. I am a warrior. A warrior Luna. It's my job"

Luna shook her head. "No one should have to die for me. No one. Have you any idea how hard it is to grasp that concept? Impossible. I was not taught how to lead an army. I was not told that people would lay their lives down her me. All of this came after the war, when I realized that I needed to become better. That I had to learn not only to defend myself, but harden myself so that I could deal with those things." Her voice had cracked a few times as a hand came up and rested on top of his and a single tear escaped her eyes and rolled how her cheek toward their hands. "But seeing all of those scars, feeling that one..I don't think I can deal with such things, even if I am forced. If you were to..." She couldn't even speak the word. Die. At just the thought of that, more tears seemed to caress her pale skin.

Sol held her close. "My queen, death is inevitable, even for vampires. You know this." He was talking softly, and hated the fact that he had been careless

Luna laid her forehead upon his chest. "Of course it is.." Was all she could muster up to say was she wrapped her arms around him, embracing him tightly.

A twig snapped somewhere in the distance, and Sol pulled away and put on his pants, buckling his belt and his sword belt. Before the man showed up, Sol was completely dressed and shielding Luna from their sights. Two guards on horses came into view. Avery and Roma.

Avery: '"Sol, the princess is missing, what are you doing here? You are supposed to be guarding her!"

Sol rolled his eyes and looked at them. "She is behind me getting dressed. She wanted to swim, I cannot deny the princess that right. Unless you two want to tell her what she can and cannot do." Sol challenged them.

Roma: "Princess, show yourself." Roma hated Sol. But Avery looked up to Sol.

Avery: "Roma, what if she is indecent? We could lose our heads!"

Luna suppressed a growl of annoyance as she walked around Sol, her dress clearly unzipped to him but not to the the other two guards. "Avery. Roma. Why have you come here?" She asked, her voice teetering on the edge of anger. She didn't like the invasion of privacy. "Did you not see Saint and Nightmare and the head of the trail? Did you not see the very clear evidence of my corset and shoes left behind? I was enjoy my break away from the castle while I had it. I do not enjoy the invasion of privacy." She said, her voice growing cold as her eyes stared daggers into the two of them.

They both stuttered. "Miss, shall I zip your dress for you?" Sol was clearly amused then his eyes settled on Roma and his red face. "Ah... Or was it that one of you wanted to catch the princess disrobed?" Roma sputtered at that then quickly bowed and both left rather quickly. "Damn it... I won't hear the end of that one."

Luna huffs. "Guess that means this play date is over." She mumbled. "But yes. Please zip me." She said, and waited for him to do so. "Who do you think found me missing? Or were we really gone that long.." She wondered aloud, the anger and coldness leaving her voice as the two of them rode off.

He zipped up her dress. "It is well past midday Luna. Lets get moving. They are waiting by the horses." He mumbled and began moving back toward the horses

Luna mumbled complaints as she walked along the trails and back to Nightmare. Once there she completely disregarded the two already there and picked up her corset and shoes then put them int the saddle bag. After that, Luna climbed onto her horse with ease and gently patted the mare, it taking off into a trot right away.

Sol mounted his horse. "You two bafoons lead." He snapped at them and walked with Luna back to the castle.

On their ride back to the castle Luna's mood only seemed to deteriorate. Busy busy busy. She thought to herself repetitively until they rode up to the stables here she dismounted and grabbed her corset along with her shoes then began to match toward the castle, leaving Sol and the two guard behind. It was very clear she was not happy about having to return, as much as she knew she had to. She was enjoying what time she had alone with Sol. Enjoying the stress relief she was getting as well as the fact she could talk freely without being reprimanded for being unladylike.

Sol stayed and made sure to tent to his and Luna's horse.

Roma: "Watch what you do with the Princess, Sol. Wouldn't want the king to know for your past, now do you?" Sol said nothing and brushed each horse as Roma left.

Avery: "Sol... I'm sorry about him, he really wouldn't. He just wanted to be the Princess's guard. You know that." Sol merely nodded and finished with the horses, then he went to find Luna

Before Luna had gone anywhere to meet anyone, she went to her room and closed the door. Once inside she stripped down completely and began looking for something non-wet. Damn those two. Damn whoever wanted to find me. Damn it all. She said as she went from one dresser to another, not remembering which contained what.

Sol stood outside her door, just standing guard, not entering but sending in a maid to help her out. Sol stared hard at the wall and tried to kill it with a glare

In no time Luna was dressed and out the door, her heels clicking on the stone floors once again. "I really hate being busy sometimes you know?" She called to Sol, knowing full well he was there.

Luna sighs and heads off toward the conference like room where she was to hold negotiations with a neighboring kingdom as well as talk about a certain treaty; stopping once she got there and turning toward Sol. "I'll inform you now. This is a very tense room, and the exact kingdom in there right now is the one we went to war with. Be have. Be quiet. Let me handle this please. Only step in if there's a threat on my life. Which happens. A lot." She mumbled. Her face was emotionless as her eyes seemed hooded. She'd dealt with this before, the only problem was, now that the eldest son had taken over the kingdom, he'd wished to discuss certain terms of the treaty.

Sol's eyes were dead. His face and posture looked that of a royal guard, hard and vigilante. Sol didn't say and word, just put his left hand behind his back and the right across his body on the hilt of the sword. He knew how to play guard. But he also knew a man that caused his torture was in there. He steeled himself for that.
