Atlantis
Said to have been created by the gods to offer sanctuary to the most brilliant and gifted minds of humanity, Atlantis is the largest single community in this day and age, and remained hidden to the surrounding by powerful spells. Due to the city's large scale there's never been any problems with inbreeding, and due to the clever designs of buildings and canals used to move around the city, food has never been short.
At the center of Atlantis there is a large lake, to the east lies the upper-class district, to the north is the middle-class district, to the west the lower-class district and the south is mostly green pastures utilized for farming. Besides there being definite differences in the income of most of the city's inhabitants, people seldom complain, and even the poorest of the poor can lead meaningful lives.
Slavery is not entirely unusual, but people handle their slaves well and with respect. After all, slaves are expensive, and are often basically considered parts of the family. Slaves are more common amongst the middle-class citizens than they are amongst the upper-class, since the upper-class can simply hire servants who'll take care of themselves. Slaves, on the other hand, require upkeep like a horse since they aren't allowed to walk around however they want.
The Cathedral
At the very center of the enormous city there's a lake, and in the center of this lake there's a small island protruding from the ocean upon which the city's most famous structure is built, the Cathedral. 20 Priests, 4 bishops and 1 arch-bishop live in this building, as well as 50 servants to make sure everything is in perfect condition at all times. These numbers are closely observed, as the holy scriptures state that there should always be 75 people living in the cathedral.
The priests are flawless healers, and the cathedral poses as the city's main hospital. The priests even make house-calls, should the case be urgent, and regardless of social standing and job they are sworn to do their best to save anyone who've fallen ill or wounded.
Small boats are the only way into the cathedral for anyone who hasn't mastered the art of water-walking, which is a high-grade magic spell that few possess the power to utilize. Due to this, the cathedral is one of the only areas in the city where nobody is rioting.
The Palace
The Emperor's palace is located on a small cliff island on the eastern shore of the large lake at the center of Atlantis. Connected to the courthouse by a massive bridge, the private portions of the palace is surprisingly humble and small for the scale of everything else within the city. The Emperor, his wife and his personal bodyguards as well as a large amount of servants are the only regulars in the palace.
The palace is highly secure and there has never been a reported infiltration of the building, and the building is built in state-of-the-art architecture and can sustain heavy impacts with any weapon that the people of Atlantis might have. This makes the palace the safest place in the city, and the rioting isn't going on here either.
The Courthouse
While being generally referred to as the courthouse, the courthouse is much more than just a tribunal. It houses the cities largest barracks for soldiers, holds 200 cells (more have never been necessary at a single time) and also serves as the City's town hall. This was where the Emperor gave his speech to the people about Atlantis submerging, from a balcony on the outside.
The Rich District
The buildings in the upper-class district are all very large and glamorous. While the situation has calmed down considerably, it's not certain that it's safe to walk around these streets at night. Although it's the upper-class district, most of the population consists of servants who live in the houses they serve at.
Though the city mostly consists of stone, and trees are quite rare in the entirety of Atlantis, some of the richest lords are banding together and trying
