- Krishna -
Krishna tucked his black-and-gold scarf higher up around his face, eyes narrowed through the tinted lenses as he peered upon the highly suspect character loitering beneath the tree far below. In his peripheral, another figure seemed just as suspect: a man staring first at the window where Krishna and Thaddeus stood, then down to the shadowy figure in the arbour. He seemed almost harmless from a distance, clipped brown hair and rough face, but he carried himself like the soldiers Krishna used to hide from back in India.
Suspect indeed.
Taking a careful step away from the window (and trying not to sigh in relief at the blessed shade), Krishna turned on a slow heel and spoke, voice muffled by thick layers of fabric.
"Mr. Grey, If you see what I see--which, of course, I'm sure you do--then I believe it necessary we make to the gardens; post-haste."
And with that he strode from the room as quickly and as quietly as possible so as not to alarm anyone.
Lilith was assisting their newfound friend with a carpet that, as Krishna walked by, reeked of old blood. He crinkled his nose.
Then he was down the stairs, nowhere near as fast as he could be with the sunlight draining him, and around the side of the building to where the two men were.
Krishna threw a look over his shoulder at the man in casual city clothes.
Lilith looked at him queerly, then picked up a manila envelope from the coffee table and held it aloft.
"Mr. Jameson, did you not read the dossiers?"
Krishna blanched, vision tunneling on the envelope in her hand. "The...what?"
Lilith held the envelope out to him, eyebrow raised. One corner of her mouth lifted in amusement.
"I would have thought, Mr. Jameson, that you had done your homework. Here. A brief profile of the members in our task force."
Krishna crossed the room sheepishly, took the envelope, and tentatively opened it. The first profile that slid out was that of Mr. Thaddeus Grey, and detailed all the important need-to-know facts about the werewolf.
Krishna cleared his throat. "Ah..." He sifted through recent memories for any recollection of being passed a similar envelope, but none came to mind. Had he blood in his veins, his embarrassment would have flushed his cheeks. "I didn't--I don't know how I could have--...there...was..."
Krishna took a seat on the sofa adjacent to Lilith and began to pour over the contents, mumbling a very muffled thank you to his fellow vampire.
He had no idea if this would translate, or if the sign was anywhere remotely correct, but he gestured with his hands surreptitiously to make the "Flank Left" signal, locked eyes with the marine, then moved to the right of the figure under the tree.
