Every year, each district holds a lottery known as the reaping. On this day, the entire district population gathers at what is known as the Justice Building, where children of reaping age are sequestered into pens separated by age. Two large glass balls contain slips of paper with the names of each child through the ages of 12–18. The number of times a child's name is entered in the reaping bowl is cumulative and dependent on their age: a twelve-year-old has their name in once, a thirteen-year-old twice, and so on until the child is eighteen years old, where they will have seven slips in the bowl. A reaping age child can choose to add their name more times in exchange for tesserae. Each tessera offers enough oil and grain to supply one family member with food for one year. The district's escort has the duty of picking the name out of the bowls, one for girls and one for boys. The tributes whose names are chosen are then entered into the Hunger Games unless someone volunteers, which is rare since the games are viewed as a death sentence. However, the act of volunteering is far more common in the Career Districts 1, 2, and 4 where participation in the Hunger Games is seen as an act of honor and chance for glory. There, children spend years training in combat and survival before volunteering. Once the tributes are chosen, they are escorted into the Justice Building and brought into a room. The tributes are then allotted one hour to meet with family and friends to say goodbye and get their affairs in order. Once the hour is up, the tributes are escorted to
a car that takes them to the train station, then they board a train bound for the Capitol.

It's our character's last year they're eligible to be chosen or volunteer for the annual Hunger Games, a mix between dread and relief. Alas, the two are either chosen or volunteer (I'm putting both since you can freely chose the path of your character) for either the 74th or 99th annual Hunger Games. I say those because I would love to include a Quarter Quill in the role-play. Where the plot strays from the original is that our characters will be from different Districts not knowing the other in the slightest. The two (MxF) grow closer as time goes on, they can even fall into the same Rabbit Hole Peeta and Katniss did where they faked their love for the cameras just to stay alive. I personally like myself a slow burn and don't have a high interest with love at first sight. They must go through all of the faked forced motions to appease the president that their love is truly real and not an act of rebellion in order to keep the Districts under their submission. Although a different effect takes place, our characters are pushing a message through that we don't need to view the other Districts as enemies we need to eliminate but can aline as a unit to help take down the Capitol. Thus triggering the Quarter Quill where all of the victors must turn around and verse each other even after being told they would live a life of peace in order to kill the duo off without getting any blood on their hands. Hello everyone! I'm a 24 year old woman who only RPs with 18+ year old individuals for any form or romance and/or 1x1 for my own personal comfort. I would like to think of myself as very understanding and know how life and can in the way. I have a full time job myself and a high energy dog that NEEDS to run everyday. I can push out a few replies a week, possibly everyday depending on the situation. I request at least one reply a week unless mentioned otherwise as to why you cannot (example: vacation, hospital, just whatever I get it life comes up) I typically reply with multiple paragraphs, I love all the little details so the more the merrier! I also really enjoy plotting with my RP parents and if my muse is high enough might make a Pinterest board and/or a playlist for the thread. I prefer to use Discord (not a must) for my RPs since I/we can make our own server for it and have extra little ad ins and such so everything doesn't just get lost in our messages paired with a bit of a loser leash when it comes to the rules. I also seek real face claims for our characters and not anime artwork or things of that nature. Also, please no bland lifeless characters. You can create this person, make them original with a little cinnamon and spice. On another note, nobody is perfect. I'm tired of seeing people's characters being perfect at absolutely everything and unstoppable to absolutely anyone and anything. This has been a big craving of mine lately and hopefully yours too I also included the District list to assist in helping decide which you would like your character to be in and included 4 in the careers since in the book 4 is considered a career yet goes unmentioned in the movie. I'm am comfortable with playing either male or female.
