Alex watched as Monte walked inside, she was jealous that he could look so together and confident, a skill which she could not put into action in this moment in time. Alex slowly followed him inside and looked at those who remained, her close family and friends were all that remained. She stood back and scanned the scene in front of her, her father was still a mess but she hadnt expected that to be any different. Alex notcied a girl standing in some what off a mess beside the Piano, she immediately recognised her as Sinead Sullivan, she began to walk towards unsure if she would try to help her get out or to hurt her, Alex couldnt think straight. As she made her way towards the Piano Alex say her sister crumbled on the floor. Without a second thought of Sinead, Alex knelt on the floor beside Alena and pulled her into her, she ignored the pain this was causing her arm and held Alena tightly. She didnt have any words to say.

Lucy was pleased that her brother was giving into her wishes without much explaination. Lucy was simply confirming what they both wanted to do and what they had to do. James was family, and family wasn't something you just left behind.

She smiled softly as her brother started to come up with a plan. Sometimes she wondered if he was meant to be the eldest child. He was a natural born leader and was next in line for the family business anyway. She just had the title but he seemed to do most of the work. Which made her feel incredibly useless at times. Her eyes looked around as they walked and she noticed the car that was parked outside of the hotel. Her brows raised in suspicion and she paused in her step to stare at it closely.

There was someone inside of it. But as her brother continued to walk on without a second glance, she knew that she was beginning to lose it. Paranoia was slowly creeping its way into her head. Shaking her wet blond curls, she walked quickly making sure to catch up with Conor and lightly touched his arm as they walked, not wanting to be too far away from him. "Do you think he would be held in the hotel?" Lucy asked her brother in a hushed tone.

Luca slowly crept toward Sinead, making sure to not look suspicious before standing behind her. "Meet me outside Head, it's time to go home." Sure he could had taken her outside by force but he didn't want Vinnie to see him and actually figure out who he was. One thing for sure was that he was pissed as hell, who had the stupid idea of letting Lucy come here and do the shootout. He had seen how James had been Captured by Fortuna, he would have to do something about that later but getting Sinead out was his number one priority.

Sinead heard the familiar voice speak to her from behind and she knew it was Luca. For now, she hadn't yet processed how much trouble she was going to be in when she got home, but she was just glad she was actually going to make it home. She gave Luca chance to leave ahead of her, turning to look back to look at Gianna's corpse a short distance away on the floor. She recalled something Detective Edwards had said to her the previous day. He had told her dead bodies seemed to be surrounding her these days. Right now, it seemed like his words were true and she'd spent so long distancing herself from her family's business that she was now too weak to even defend herself.

When she finally got outside, Sinead found Luca and rushed over to him. "Luca..." she began, but couldn't manage to form any words. She then took a calming breath before looking back towards the hotel. "I saw them take James. Did he manage to get away?" she worriedly asked.

Everett Ware
Everett was immersed in watching the action when his eyes finally flicked over a familiar face. He smiled to himself, taking one last bite of his apple before getting out of the car, tossing the core off to the side and weaving his way through people, cautiously following Conor and his sister.
Everett had only met Conor once, a brief encounter in which he spoke mostly to Emmet, though he'd exchanged a few curt words with his boss's son.
He had no need to be sneaky, of course. Everett had no record, no notoriety besides being owner of one small bookshop wedged between two large chain stores. Some people gave him wary looks as he passed -- after all he was a fairly timid looking man entering a place where just recently a crime had been committed.
Fast walking, Everett found himself within range of the Sullivan siblings.
"Conor." His tone was quiet but commanding, a voice that managed to somehow stay quiet yet reach the young man without difficulty. For a moment, Everett was nervous -- what if they thought him a Romano? Or Conor didn't remember him? Or either of them disapproved of his methods?
He looked uncertain for a fraction of a second before attempting a smile, which was half assed and awkward. It most certainly was not the time for small talk and smiles, and the Sullivan's looked to be in a hurry. Catching up to them, he looked down, letting out a soft breath of air as if to reassure himself.
"Mr. Sullivan sent me here in case the worst happened, in which I believe it has." Everett gestured around them, as if the statement needed more illustration.

When Lucy asked if he thought James was being held in the hotel, Conor didn't know what to say. "I'm not sure, Lucy. I hate to say, but if they've got him, he could be anywhere. The hotel itself is big enough. He could have been taken elsewhere. Or maybe we're just too worried and he hasn't even been caught. He could be hiding out," Conor suggested.

Conor stopped in his tracks as he heard someone called his name. It didn't sound like a hostile voice, so he didn't draw his weapon when he turned to face the young man. "Everett?" he asked, managing a smile, though not completely sure he'd got the name right. When it was explained that Emmet has sent him, Conor nodded. "We've lost contact with James," he began, wondering if he should think of Everett's presence as Emmet's way of spying. "Unless you know exactly where he is, I'm not sure what you can do," he said. He wasn't saying it in a nasty way - if anything, he genuinely hoped the guy had some ideas. Everett never struck him as a guy who would go running into an enemy's building on some kind of search and rescue mission.

Everett Ware
Everett relaxed as Conor turned and said his name. He'd been nervous with little reason. At the mention of James, Everett tried to remember who it was. It took a moment, but he realized Mr. Sullivan mentioned James as his driver. He nodded at Conor, brows furrowing with concern.
"It is likely of utmost importance we find him." Everett frowned. "I'm sure I can help. I don't have any reputation to make the cops nor the Romano's suspicious. I don't usually carry a weapon, unless you count a heavy book as a weapon."
Everett motioned towards his bag, which was full of various books and at the bottom were large was of money. Conor, of course, didn't need to know that. Pausing, he turned briefly to Lucy.
"I apologise for my manners. I'm Everett Ware." Without waiting for a reply he turned back to Conor. Now wasn't a time for that. He mentally scolded himself for the awkward interaction, which in result probably made him look more rude.
Shaking his thoughts off, Everett looked around.
"I've been in that damn car a long time, watching the place and I haven't seen any odd behavior. I theorize it's most likely he'd be in the hotel. If you'd like I can tag along to brush off anyone that gets in the way of searching for him."
It was all Everett could offer. His weapon was his brain, not his fists, though he wasn't half bad in a scuffle, it most certainly wasn't his strong point, not in his comfort zone.

Lucy had stayed silent as the two conversed amongst themselves, waiting patiently. She listened to Everett and was interested to know who he was. Obviously he was an ally of their family most likely working for their father. Conor seemed to know of him but it seemed from the awkward interaction this was one of the first full conversations they were having.

Raising a single eyebrow, she couldn't help but find some of Everett's words...strange. Not in a dangerous way, but it was just peculiar. He didn't have a weapon? Why wouldn't he have a weapon? Who brings books to these types of things? Lucy was left in a state of confusion and when he introduced himself to her,it took her a moment to respond.

"Oh..um..Lucy Sullivan." She murmured and offered him a small smile before her face fell into a serious gaze. He moved on from the introduction and began revealing information. Lucy listened carefully and hung on to every word that he spoke. Lucy was relieved to hear that James might be in the hotel. But how were they going to get through all of the floors without getting caught? Was he even on the main floors? He could be in the basement. She thought to herself before nodding her head at Everett.

"We will need all the help we can get." She answered and looked at Conor to see if he agreed with her on this. They needed to hurry, sirens were not too far away now.

Luca had been standing outside by a car he had borrow from his friend, waiting for Sinead to come out. He had turned to go look at the hotel, watching other people walk out before finally seeing Sinead coming his way. He pushed her into a hug once she had rushed toward him. He gave her soothing words, the words coking out in both Italian and Irish. Before shaking his head when she asked about James. "I would answer that question but I don't know, mostly because because I was worry about you when I saw that you were there." You could hear the bitter tone he took when he talked about her being there.

Fortuna nodded slightly in agreement, a smirk upon her lips upon hearing the slight edge in the man's normally cool tone of voice. Gripping the electrodes tightly in both hands, the hitwoman maneuvered her way in front of James. She flashed her victim a cheery grin as she stared down at him from above, showing off her pearly white teeth. "I'm not going to bother lying, this might hurt." With those ominous words alone, she swiftly placed the electrodes on each side of his head, sending painful jolts of electricity down his body.

James Porter

James' hands were tied, but that didn't stop him from contemplating the idea of kicking Fortuna as soon as she got close enough. But as he looked around the room, he realised he didn't have another stage to the plan. The door was locked and guarded, there wasn't another route even if he could free his hands. He decided to take the punishment rather than risk angering the Romanos further and risk being killed. When Fortuna placed the electrodes to the sides of his head, he didn't get more time to think before the pain surged throughout his body. Whilst the pain in his body was enough, the intense pain in his head seem to outweigh the rest. As he screamed out in pain, he began to feel dizzy and his eyes blurry. Everything felt a strange mixture of pain and numbness. This was a whole new pain for him and to say he didn't like it was an understatement.

Vinnie had been informed of the situation with James and was approaching the room just in time to hear the man's pained screams. Realising Fortuna wasn't intending on killing the man, Vinnie decided to leave her to finish what she was doing. Vinnie wasn't ready for any Sullivans to be killed yet. Hearing the Sullivan gang member suffering was music to his ears, considering his own wife was dead. Besides, he recalled all those years ago when James' father killed one of his best men. He'd retaliated by having James' father killed in prison whilst serving the murder sentence. He'd expected James to back down, but he'd continued to work for the Sullivans, so Vinnie was in no rush to interrupt Fortuna. He would wait patiently outside the door until she was done.

Conor nodded his head to Everett. "Yeah, it is pretty important. James is practically family. The moody older brother I never had," he fondly remarked. They'd had their disputes in the past, but that was usually James telling Conor not to do that stupid thing he'd been about to do. James tended to be in the right. When Everett said he didn't carry a weapon but at the same time wasn't on the radar of the Romanos or cops, Conor tried to weight things up. "If you had a weapon, would you be able to use it? What do you think you'd be able to do if you did find him?" he asked. He wasn't doubting the man's abilities, just hoping he'd have a plan if needed. When he suggested tagging along and brushing anyone off, Conor nodded. "That could work. I guess we could have you keep going ahead of us to make sure our paths are clear once in the hotel." Conor didn't like not having a plan, but everything was still quite a haze since seeing Alex's heart break for her mother. He hated being so distracted.

Conor placed his arm around Lucy's shoulder and looked her in the eyes. "Are you sure you're still up for this? I'm sure there's somewhere safe you can hide whilst we search the hotel," he suggested. It wasn't that he didn't think she was strong enough. He was just concerned that she might have been upset before he'd found her or that if she did get hurt, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

Sinead returned Luca's hug, suddenly realising how much she'd needed it. She tightly wrapped her arms around him and he spoke soothing words. It made her feel a little safer after the words Vinnie had just threatened her with. Luca was always like some kind of uncle to her and she liked that about him.

Luca's response about James did nothing to reassure or comfort Sinead. She took a step away from him and looked back towards the hotel, biting her lip and shivering as the rain soaked her uncovered shoulders. If anything happened to James, she knew it was her fault. If he hadn't seen her hiding underneath the piano and tried to help her escape, he wouldn't have been so distracted. She knew the man was very methodical, so her presence was sure to have caused this. And now, she thought, Luca was being dragged away from his own plans because of her. "I'm sorry for making you worry, Luca. James needs help more than I do. Vinnie just let me walk right out of there, so he's not going to hurt me - not tonight. Leave me and help James," she suggested.

Alena felt the presence of her sister beside her. All she did was cry, even more, Alena has never felt this hurt in her whole entire life. Alena didn't know how she can survive without her mother by her side, she didn't know what to feel or how to act. This was all too early and new for her. None of this was supposed to happen. Alena put her hands on her head as she opened to let out cries of sorrow and grief, but nothing came out. She only kept on shedding tears. Tears were the only she felt at the moment running down her face. Alena was close to her mother, and now that she is gone, Alena feels as if she doesn't have a purpose anymore. Alena hated this if only she had acquired more security or maybe if the party was held at the house, maybe her mother wouldn't be gone.

Alex watched as her sister cried and pulled her tightly into her so that Alena's head would be against Alex's chest. While Alex was soaking from being outside, there was no tears falling down her face, no matter how much she wanted to cry or scream, Alex was too numb to feel any grief. To anyone Alex would look indifferent about the whole situation, almost cold and withdrawn. As she held her sister, Alex scanned the room looking for Monte in particular. While Alex did not want to go home to her house, she knew that it would be best to get Alena home. Snapping out of her thoughts of what she would do at home Alex spotted her brother not too far away from them. "Monte" she shouted, calling him over to them "We need to get Alena home" she said once he got closer to them.

Lucy listened to her brother as he questioned Everett. He was definitely like father, always needing some sort of plan to work with. And the plan that was suggested was just enough to get them in and out of the hotel. Lucy nodded her head along to her brother's words, standing a few inches behind him, staying out of his line of vision. Lucy was just focused on getting James back and wanted him to be with them right now. She would never forgive herself if he were hurt or..something even worse.

Lucy was in deep thought when her brother wrapped his arm around her shoulder. Snapping out of her worried stupor, she looked up at her young brother and she shook her head once at hearing his words. "I will be fine Conor, hiding is not going to get James back." She stated and looked back into his eyes almost stubbornly, her jaw set slightly and she raised a blonde eyebrow, daring him to challenge her.

Although she was grateful for her brother's concern, she didn't want him getting too caught up in what he saw after Monte left. In fact, she was hoping that he would just forget about seeing her and Monte conversing. She wasn't going to tell anyone about the threat she received...at least not anyone in her actual family. She was going to have to figure out how to fix this on her own. Monte was going to leave her and her family alone for now...but once he was done grieving...they would all be living on borrowed time.

Everett Ware
Everett nodded when Conor talked about James. Of course he was of importance. He worried about Lucy, though looking at her, he decided she'd probably be able to fend for herself.
"Of course I can use a weapon." He mused, unconsciously fixing his tie again. "I'd be a piss poor excuse for a gangster if I couldn't. My line of work though, requires me to be quite clean. Should I get caught, I want no evidence."
While it was all true, Everett always had back up plans. He had money, which often worked, but in the event of something else happening, Everett had a few tricks up his sleeve in the form of items that wouldn't get him in trouble.
"As for what to do if we find him, I am a man of plans, similarly to your father. It's why we get along so well." Everett, of course, didn't have a plan yet, but one was already formulating in his head. Walking past the two, he squinted at the hotel, looking it up and down.
"Getting in should be no problem." He stated, pointing at a side door left cracked open. "The issue, however, is I don't think we nor Mr. James have enough time to search through every room."
His brow furrowed in thought.
"But I believe until we find a better solution, that may be our only option. Action is the best course of action now. Perhaps we could find out if there's a basement floor?"
Without waiting for the Sullivan's, Everett stalked off, making a beeline for the open door, wheels turning in his head. Once he began moving, he wouldn't stop. He'd raided so many shipments, and as he walked he thought, considering the options, analyzing the information.

Monte Romano
Monte suppressed the emotions rumbling in his chest as he stared blankly at his sisters, trying to take control of himself. Taking a long breath, he handled it, face impassive.
"Of course." He stated simply, in a bored, monotone voice. Walking up to his siblings, he offered a hand.
"We gotta hurry the cops'll be here any minute. Pull yourself together Lena or we won't get out without more tragedy." The words were harsh, but numb as he was, Monte couldn't care less if he hurt his sister more. It was important that they get out, and Monte wasn't about to wait any longer. He wouldn't leave his sisters, of course, but for once he wasn't in the mood to deflect cops or even shoot anyone. After a second, he sighed. Of course being an emotionless asshole would get him nowhere.
He crouched next to Lena, rubbing her back hesitantly. It wasn't often he even spoke to his little sister.
"Come on, Lena. I'll help you up but we gotta go." He said softly. Again, he extended a hand, this time to help her up, should she choose to.

“…and she said it wasn’t a wig. It was-” Elise was overcome with a fit of girlish laughter. She almost snorted, but managed to catch it in time, shoving a hand over her own mouth and shaking with silent mirth. “…it was her dog!”

This was the funniest story she knew; Elise could get anyone to laugh with this, though these two old men were awfully serious for party-goers. When she’d bounced into the back seat to sit with the tall brunette, she could swear she saw a suspiciously gun-sized bump shift under his coat. The driver was also creepily quiet the whole ride to the party.

Obviously, Dad was just bad at picking dates. Elise planned to ditch both of them once they got to the party. Her perfectly coifed black hair trembled with excitement as she was visibly bobbing side to side, ready to jump out of the car as soon as it turned the corner up ahead and parked in front of the hotel.

* * *

Xin had been worried that Garths’ daughter would be as unpleasant as her father, but the young lady was surprisingly cheerful, if a bit overly-friendly. He was focused on remembering directions to the hotel and hadn’t paid much attention to the conversation in the backseat. Hopefully the detective wasn’t getting annoyed with the girl’s chattiness. The rain had let up somewhat so Xin knew it would be a quiet and relaxed drive back to the station.

But his expression fell flat as he took the turn onto the street of their destination. The lieutenant couldn’t make out too much because of the way the wind dashed the rain harshly against the windshield, but through the window of the driver’s side door he could see that the front of the hotel was strangely…vacant. He slowed but didn’t stop, driving a ways past the hotel.

“Hey?” Elise got up in a kneeling position in her seat to turn around and look back at the building they’d passed. “Hey, hey! Mr. Driver, that was it.” She pointed frantically at the hotel, her pink nails clicking against the glass of the rear window. “Mr. Driver? You just passed the party. Hey…can you turn around?”

“Ah, sorry miss Garths.” Jon smiled gently at the young lady. She couldn’t see it, but he had a white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel. “I may need to make a detour…”

Then he glanced over at Detective Edwards through the rearview mirror. “…I saw a few guests trying the side entrance. Maybe you can chat with them while I go find a good parking space?” He pulled up to the curb a few blocks away from the hotel, and his eyes never left the rearview mirror. His face was impassive and polite, but his narrowed eyes were communicating his thoughts to the detective: Something’s up. You may need your gun.

When Lucy told him hiding wasn't going to get James back, Conor could see how determined she was being about this. Were this not a serious situation, he would have likely teased her about fancying James by now. Whilst he didn't suspect anything between the two, he still enjoyed teasing people, especially his siblings. "We'll find him," he seriously assured her.

When Everett confirmed he could use a weapon, Conor took his own gun out from inside his jacket and held it out towards the man. "Do you need one?" he asked, offering his own weapon to him. Conor was more of a brawler and more comfortable using knives, so losing his gun was only a slight issue for him. When Everett pointed out the slightly opened side door, Conor nodded and followed Everett towards the side door. "There's a basement," he confirmed. When James had shown him the floor plans the previous day, Conor had made a point of taking a good look. Whilst he hadn't memorised the details quite as much as his meticulous friend, James, he certainly recalled seeing annotations noting the basement. "We should be able to find some private employee stairs someone around here," he added, trying to get his bearings as to where they currently were in the building.

Once the three of them were inside, Conor pulled the door shut and bolted it from the inside. Perhaps it was just paranoia, but being outside made him feel too exposed, like people could be watching them. "Perhaps you two could keep ahead of me, so I can dodge being recognised and make sure we're not followed."

"Oh my, well isn't that a good reaction~" Fortuna smiled, feeling incredibly pleased with the effects. A manicured hand then grabbed hold of James' chin, forcing him to look up and face Fortuna's gaze. She stared, her eyes narrowed to a scary degree of danger, before a cruel and unforgiving smirk graced her lips. "I don't believe you've learned your lesson quite yet, however. A couple more jolts ought to do it." She nodded, coming to a conclusion, before holding up the electrodes once more.

Minutes would have passed before Fortuna was finally satisfied. As she switched off the defibrillator, Cesario and Tesauro entered the room once more. "Right on time." She praised, smiling. "Why don't you two have our guest escorted out?" She gave a pointed glance at James' general direction as she busied herself by properly putting the defibrillator away.

James could barely focus on Fortuna after the first jolt that had been inflicted on him, but he could still hear her words as she told him he hadn't learned his lesson yet. After subjecting him to the same torture twice more, it seemed she was finally done with him. The two goons re-entered the room and were told to escort James out. They grabbed an arm each to help James up and untied his hands. As the man's legs gave way beneath him, they realised they would have to keep hold of him and pretty much drag him out.

As they stepped out onto the corridor, Vinnie was waiting there, just to see the state of James more than anything. The Italian boss smirked, though there was little joy behind it. "We'll be seeing each other again soon, Mr Porter. Perhaps you'll be buried beside your old man," he assured him. He then looked to the two thugs and told them to get rid of James and then make themselves scarce. After giving Fortuna an approving nod in respect of her hard work, he took a different staircase back up to the dance floor, knowing he would have to face Gianna's body again.

As Everett and Lucy walked ahead of Conor, they would notice two men in the distance dragging James before bundling him out of the building and onto the street outside. The two Italians then rushed off down the corridor to hide out in one of the hotel rooms. James, meanwhile, had been pushed out of the building, landing on his hands and knees. His head ached so badly it felt like his skull was being crushed. Still disorientated, blurry-eyed and altogether weakened, he stopped trying to get onto his feet for the time-being. Instead, he sat back, propped up against the wall. He closed his eyes tightly, feeling the sides of his head burning, just to add to everything else. He didn't even realise he was sat in a puddle following the heavy rain shower.

Chicago was a entirely different animal than New York, though to the modern eye the Big Apple was merely Chicago's big brother. For starters, it was much smaller, crime was more watched in the Windy City. Which didn't pose a large problem. Secondly, Chicago had a better sense of German culture. The Chicago dog, absolutely superb, and almost as good as brautwerst. Regardless, a unfamiliar territory for Hitler's Hitman...

Hans wasn't even sure what he was about to get into. The crime families in New York had their fair share of drama, which would more than likely be the case here. And if it was similar to New York, each family would have their special spots and territories. Which his employer graciously left out those details. And the Grand Hotel primarily was filled with Italians, which wasn't the best sign since his employer was Irish.

Currently Hans sat in The Fox's Den, a mediocre pub to his standards. Ditching his officer's trench this evening for a plain black trench, paired with a simple grey suit and black tie. He took a sip of his scotch, hopefully to drown out the God- awful music playing. Hans was never able to appreciate American music, the only type he could put up with was Jazz. It was mostly instrumental, no need for obnoxious vocals. But, he'd have to deal with it.

Lucy was somewhat reassured by what her brother was saying. She had confidence that they would find James, she had no doubt about it actually. But what was concerning her; what condition would they find him in? She would never be able to forgive herself if he had to suffer for something that she should be taking full responsibility for.

Following behind the two men, she walked through the side door and they fanned out into the long and poorly lit hallway. Conor pulled the door closed and bolted it shut. Effectively keeping the outside out, but it was also trapping the three of them in the building which Lucy considered dangerous. "Good Idea." Lucy said to her brother before moving to stand in front of him and Everett was a few feet ahead of her.

She was about to suggest something when she heard footsteps in the distance. Holding her breath, she made sure to press against the wall of the hallway, which was darker in some spots than others. She hoped that the dark would conceal them for a moment as she watched two men carrying a body out of another side door and pushing it into the street. She heard someone hit the pavement pretty hard before the door was slammed shut.

Eyeing Everett, she wondered what he thought as the two henchmen began their journey back to the main floors of the hotel. Without waiting for anyone's permission. She walked ahead of both men, not wanting to waste any time. Her gut was telling her that James was right outside that side door. She looked down the hall to her left and right before walking to the door that was in the center of the intersection.

Pulling it open, she looked out into the dark to see a figure propped up weakly against the wall. Walking towards it, she used the dim light from the open side door to identify the figure. "James." She squeaked out, he looked in terrible shape. Her fingers reached out to gently brush the side of his jaw as she leaned in closer to examine his wounds. "Those fucking bastards..." She hissed softly. There were definite burns on the side of his head and he seemed to be disoriented and weak.

Looking in the mirror she frowned, pursing her lips and procuring a tube of lipstick from her bag beneath the mirror. Pouting, she smoothly applied the bright red color to her lips. Leaning back, Eleanor frowned. Her hair was wild, and after a moment of hesitation, she pinned it up, turning side to side to inspect herself in the mirror. Pleased with her appearance, she grabbed her bag and left the room, flicking the lights off and heading to her car, keys in hand.
Her night, however, was far from over, as after work she could often be found frequenting the local bars. Pulling into the Fox's den, she inspected herself one more time before gracefully climbing out of the car, checking her purse for her gun and making sure it was loaded and ready to go in case the worst happened. As she walked towards the bar, Eleanor couldn't help but glow, feeling the eyes of gawking men on her bare skin. She oozed confidence, throwing playful winks and blowing kisses as she waltzed into the building and found herself a seat at the bar.
She crossed her slender legs, surveying the bar and smiling at all the activity around her before turning to the barmaid.
"I'll have some scotch, darling." She said sweetly before turning back away. To each side of her was another customer, and both looked compl disinterested in the happenings around them. Eleanor turned to the closest one.
"You don't look to pleased to be here, do you? Having a bad night?" Eleanor feigned pouting, a sarcastic edge tinting her voice. "Not a fan of the alcohol?"
She was hoping for company, and if not that, the man looked like he might be fun to irk. After all, she was in Romano territory, and there would be plenty of people here that would back her up should she go too far.

James Porter and Conor Sullivan

Conor kept himself a short distance from the other two, nipping in and out of hiding spots at every opportunity. When he heard the footsteps, he kept out of view but made sure not to take his eyes off Lucy and Everett. Conor quickened his pace a little as he noticed his sister rushing off to investigate who the two Italians had thrown outside. He wasn't about to continue hanging back if she was about to walk into danger.

When James heard his name being spoken and only just felt someone gentle touch his jaw, he opened his eyes and blinked a few times to try clear his vision. When he heard the familiar female voice swear, he tightly closed his eyes again. At first he was trying to process where he was and how he'd got there. Once he'd recalled the two thugs dragging him and talking some crap in Italian, other things began to flood back. Vinnie's threats, Fortuna's pleasure at torturing him. Another sharp pain disrupted his thought process and remembering other important details. But one thing that did become apparent was that Lucy was with him now. "Lucy..." he groggily mumbled. He opened his eyes again and tried to focus on her. Despite his head spinning and his confusion, he still managed to remember specifically telling Lucy to run. He didn't like her seeing him weak like this, but more than anything, he didn't like to think she'd put herself in danger to help him. "You shouldn't still be here," he struggled to tell her. He wanted to attempt to reach out and touch her face or make any sort of contact, but he soon realised she hadn't come alone and Lucy would want to keep any feelings for him a secret.

Conor crouched down beside James. Other than the marks on the sides of the man's head, he wasn't sure what had happened to his friend to have him in such a state. "James, what happened?" he asked, but James closed his eyes and faced away from Conor. He was still trying to get his full senses back and get the energy to talk. Besides which, James would be lying if he said he wasn't annoyed with Conor for deviating from their plan. "Lucy, did he say what happened?" Conor then asked his sister, worried about what was causing James to be so unresponsive.

Lucy watched as James spoke her name and opened his eyes. They seemed glazed over and he was having a hard time focusing in on her. Her head tilted in concern before a small smile found its way to her lips. Despite everything that he had just gone through, he was still going to worry about her. "Hey I kept my promise! you shouldn't scare a lady like that!" She scolded him softly before her brother walked up from behind and crouched down beside James.

Lucy was waiting for James to answer Conor's question but he seemed to be too weak to even speak at that point. He closed his eyes and turned his head away from Conor and her brother decided to question Lucy. Shrugging, she shook her head and bit her lip. "Nothing." She murmured to Conor. "He hasn't said anything to me....but by the looks of those marks on the sides of his head...he needs to see a doctor." Lucy looked from Everett to Conor. "You," She pointed at Everett. "We need that car pulled around to this side door if we can...before the police get around to this side." She then looked to Conor. "Carry him?"

Now that they found James, Lucy was focused on getting everyone out of the hotel safely.
