I may be insane, but I'm not stupid.
Roleplay Type(s)
The fall leaves crunch under the weight of the swarming vampires. They come in close to the small building, but they know that it is bigger underground. The colony then begins their attack on the base. One by one they enter in through the door; then down the whole they go. Emeric staying behind; he only fights when he has to. There is sounds echoing from inside the building. Howls, laughter, shrieks of pain, even some screams. Emeric leans back against a tree and hums. Not bothered by the tens of people that are getting murdered just a few feet away from him. After a few moments pass Emeric leans off of the tree and walks towards the building. He enters the base and down a long ladder he goes. Outside he is calm and collected, but inside his mind is whirring with thoughts. I hope this was worth it. He thinks as he steps over bodies; of both vampires and mighty werewolves. What they say about this guy. Can it be true? My footsteps echo through the relatively empty halls. A few vampire linger to have a snack. Then one stops him as he walks. "Sir. He's in there." The soldier points to a door to their left. Emeric stops and faces the door. Before entering he takes a breath. If he isn't what they say he is. This would all have been a waist. He turns the knob and enters the room.

This night had started out like so many others, loud arguing and laughter filled the room as the same three guards sat lazily at a table stationed close to the door drinking away their cares and fighting over who cheated on their latest game of poker. Their curses and bouts of shouting echoed throughout the small chamber as a single ceiling figure above their table caused the light to cast dark shadows to the four corners of the room. Opposite of the loud commotion was a steel cage large enough to house one of their own in the darkness, a small white haired figure cowered in the corner within. Just shut up. Felix groaned inwardly clasping his palms over his large white tuffed ears trying in vain to block out the noise, his sensitive ears pulled back in a feeble attempt to prevent another headache soon to stir. It was like this every night, the three flea-bitten mutts would switch shifts with the much calmer day patrol and make any hopes of a good night sleep impossible for the little demon. Although it hadn't always been like them, not even a month prior there had only been one guard and he had mistakenly thought his charge was sound asleep and wouldn't start anything fishy. Felix however is more intelligent than he lets on and had been waiting patiently, as soon as the solo guard had let his guard down and left to empty his bladder the winged demon was quick at work picking the locks of his chains and cage before slipping out into the halls. He had made it to the surface level of the warehouse before his luck ran out and the werewolves surrounded him, dragging him back to the depths of this hole in the ground.

Now it seemed impossible to even fathom an escape plan, not only were their three guards stationed within the same room every minute of the day but, they were also locked in with another guard stationed outside with the only set of keys to let them out. A bucket sitting beside the door their toilet; the stench was horrible. But Felix couldn't decide which was worst; the noise or the smell. Currently he was trying to be patient biding his time for another opening to present itself; he still wasn't exactly sure why they were keeping him locked up 24/7. Why did the werewolves want him anyways? They had nothing to gain, so was it simply to keep the demon out of the vampires fangs? The young demon wasn't quite sure, although it felt like they were waiting for something to happen. If they wanted to keep him from the vampires, wouldn't killing him suffice. Why keep him alive? Letting out another deep sigh, the demon didn't know as he pulled his large white bat-like wings around him to hug his small form. He was still growing, at 24 cycles of life horns were still emerging from his long cord like tail. The single large tuff of fur at the end swaying annoyingly in the darkness.

Suddenly a noise from above quieted the arguing guards and they all rose in union, Felix perked at this movement feeling something was off. The commotion outside the door only grew in intensity as two of the guards started to disrobe allowing their primal nature of the wolf arise. Werewolves by nature don’t have a smooth transition as the sound of bones snapping made the demon flinch violently. The sounds of fighting only grew louder as two beasts completely transformed stared at the door waiting to attack any who dare breach their stronghold. The third guard had remained human, and now moved over to the cage drawing a pistol from beneath the many folds of his coat. The gleaming metal stole Felix’s full attention as it was pointed to him.

“Please...don’t,” he begged cowering away to the opposite corner of his cage away from the guard. The rattling of chains sliding on metal echoed noisily as the slack from the shackles dragged against the floor. Golden slit eyes widened as the gun remained fixated on his position, Felix quivered in fear. He knew the pain such items caused, knew too that it could be the end of his life. The click of the trigger being pulled back into place was the last thing the demon remembered before he closed his eyes awaiting pain or death.

It sounded like an explosion, wood being splintered and vicious snarling and snapping of jaws boomed throughout. Glass shattering and a bang, Felix yelped as the bullet indeed hit him although it only grazed his left cheek just below the bold black stripes on his face. Trying desperately to ignore it all, he gripped his ears almost painfully trying to drown out all the noise and chaos. This wasn’t the first or second time something similar had happened to the poor demon, if he were to count he would say this was the fifth time someone had comes to steal him away. This cycle has remained unbroken ever since he was snatched from the dense jungles of his home. Not again. Not like this, I just want to go home. The demon shook violently ignoring the stinging cut on his cheek as blood rolled down his cheek to drip onto the four-sizes too large blue t-shirt. The aroma of his blood a huge contrast to the rest of the blood mingling in the air, his blood smelt sweet like honey with a bit of a rich earthy undertone. He knew his blood was alluring to many, too many. And he also knew that wolves don't fight amongs themselves which meant only one thing. Vampires.

Emeric gave a little yawn. He saw the two ferocious beasts. He looked at them directly, and gave them a look over.
"Oh."
He said this and without thinking they lunged at him. He took out a blade; made especially to pierce werewolf skin. He drew the blade up as the werewolf was coming towards him. The werewolf let out a small whimper as the blade had left a deep cut in his side.
"Two seconds here!"
He called out into the hallway. A few moments later a few vampire's came into the room with him. They fought the werewolves. He stepped around them more interested in the guy holding a pistol.

Emeric followed to where the gun was pointed. The small guy in the absurdly large cage. He looked at him for a while thinking. This must be him. He looked back to the unformed werewolf. He seemed to be frantic looking at the people fighting behind Emeric. He flipped the blade in his hands and looked the guard over. As quick as lighting he was forward and had plunged the blade into the guys chest. Out of a reflex the guy had shot the gun, but not surprisingly he had missed. He had hit the side of the cage. Emeric inhaled smelling the sweet aroma of blood, and something much much better. He looked to the cowering guy in the cage. He pulled the dagger from the dead body and licked the blood from it. He approached the cage door standing there for a moment.

Emeric took the keys from his pocket. Opening the cage he closed the door behind him, but didn't lock it.
"Hello. I am Emeric."
His voice was quiet but stern, and it carried throughout the room. He tilted his head just slightly looking at the small figure. I stretched out his hand to the strange male. He didn't know why he just didn't grab the fellow and leave. He saw something... something in his eyes maybe that kept him from doing so.
"Do you wanna get out of here?"
He waited for the small male to grab his hand. If he didn't... Well actually he didn't know what he'd do If he didn't. He just hoped he didn't have to drag him out of here. His eyes flicked to the cut on his cheek. A bullet graze he thought.

Why would they hurt him? Or even keep him alive even? There is no point in doing so. He was their prisoner after all. He shook his head. It didn't matter, so why was he thinking these things. He was going to do pretty much the same. Use him for his blood; like everyone before probably. He was going to be the same. He was going to keep him as his prize. Just for his blood. Only ever his blood. Emeric sighed; these thoughts were running through his mind. A moment of guilt hinted across his eyes, but he quickly buried it. He couldn't be seen as weak or emotional. If he lost his image; he would loose everything. Everything he had worked so hard to build, and he wasn't going to loose it because of some mutt.

With eyes sealed shut trying to void out the carnage and death around him, it was the slight vibration of the metal bars against him that made Felix aware that someone had opened his cage. Peering through teary eyes, the little demon slowly opened his eyes and turned to look up at the man in the cage with him. A single sniff confirmed his worst fear, vampires. He reeked of blood and death, and he wasn’t alone as several other vampires occupied the room as well where dead werewolves littered the floor. The shiny silver alerted the little demon of the dagger in this one’s hands, he had already endured enough pain. If he could help it he would want to avoid anymore, unlike vampires and werewolves who have quick regeneration. The white-haired adult didn’t share those abilities, rather he had his own unique set that unfortunately didn’t benefit him much.

Why do the vampires' desire to have him so much was for a singular reason; his blood. Something about his blood made him quite alluring to the vampire population, it wasn't just the rich and sweeter taste but rather the special effects his blood offered to the creatures of the night. Immunity to the sunlight, no more weaknesses to holy water or crosses, and a sated thirst. For as long as Felix can remember he had been kept as a pet by vampires for that sole purpose, for a vampire no longer has to obey their insatiable thirst but they only need to feed on him about twice a week to live practically normal human lives. All the strengths of a vampire with none of the repercussions, and they are still immortal. It's a win-win for vampires, but not so much for the demon.

“Please don’t hurt me.” The words were said between a sob, the demon looking away from the man to look at the ground instead. With his hands in shackles and surrounded by so many there wasn’t much he could try to pull, if only... “I know why you come...but please. Before you take me to a new cage, I...I have one small request.” Stopping to look back at the vampire beside him, Felix looked into Emeric’s eyes with tear-filled ones. “Please take me outside, I miss the sky. The stars and the moon, the sun... I haven’t seen them in months.” He pleaded, now noticing the outstretched hand but waiting to take it only if the vampire would grant him his wish. Behind him his wings twitched and fidgeted a bit, they hadn’t been able to fully stretch out for many months now and the thought of being out of this cage even for a little bit seemed to excite the demon despite his face not showing it.

Emeric gave a small smirk. He stepped forward and released the demon of his shackles. He stayed there looking at the small figure whilst he pleaded with him.
"You're not going into another cage. You're just as alive as I am. You deserve a room."
At this he leaned forward and wiped the blood from his cheek. He snapped behind him to one of the vampires, and they stepped forward handing him a bandage. He took it and carefully put it onto the small graze. He leaned back waiting for him to take his hand.
"I promise, as soon as we get out of here. You will see the moon, the sky, the forest."
Emeric wasn't one to lie. He followed through with his word; even if it meant killing someone. What he said happened; no matter the cost. The vampires behind him knew this, but the demon in front of him didn't. And he just hoped, that he would take his word for it.

His gaze never broke his gaze; his icey blue eyes touching the small male as if they could take him. His hand never faltered as he left is outstretched to the most intriguing being he had ever met. ((Little short, but I'm at for a loss of words right now.))

Taken aback slightly by the vampire's smirk, confusion crossed Felix’s face as his tears shifted from weary to alert. His shackles were removed, so simply without much thought as to why he even wore them. There was a reason he was in this cage, a reason he wore shackles, and yet this bloodsucker didn’t seem to care. Either too confident or too trusting, honestly he should know better. Through the grapevine of the vampire community, his presence was known as well as his unruly nature to escape at every opportunity.

But looking back at the past the demon did discover a pattern, vampires seemed more willing to attempt to make him at least comfortable while he was kept against his will. The werewolves always seemed to just throw him in a cage and wait, giving him food and water and that was it. What were they waiting for, were they expecting something to happen? Or were they waiting for someone to arrive?

Felix stilled further at the vampire's words and actions, genuinely confused by Emeric’s compassion as he promised a room instead of a cage and even tended to his wound. The demon stopped shaking but otherwise remained still for several minutes staring into the vampire’s eyes. He was trying to gauge the other, trust is something he never had for either of the races hounding him. Honestly, they never seemed to consider his wants or needs, they didn’t care less what he thought. Usually, they would find him and feed on him almost immediately leaving him in a weakened state where he couldn’t possibly fight or run. But this amount of concern for him really confused him.

Looking back at the offered hand, Felix slowly rose from his crouched spot in the corner and hesitantly leaned forward to sniff the offered hand. More so out of habit, his heightened senses were the only things he really had going for himself. But at this range, he did notice something was off about Emeric although he wasn’t exactly sure at first. It took him a moment longer to realized the truth, “your only half-vampire.” The demon has never encountered a half breed before, the purebloods had always held a claim over him. But what made this time different?

Felix visibly frowned at the promise, not because he didn’t exactly believe the half-vampire would keep his word. But rather the last word struck him hard, the forest... He didn’t want to see any random forest. He wanted to see his jungle, his home. He wanted to be free of this role of being nothing but a blood supply for the vampires and captive for the werewolves. He wanted to go back, back to his simple life were the most stressful thing he had to worry about was where to take shelter from the violent thunderstorms. At least there he had a choice, the last several years he has had none.

Perhaps Emeric was different, it didn’t change the fact that he had no desire to be here. Breaking free had always been his single priority and no dead-end promises would change his mind. Seeming to have finally decided his course of action, Felix timidly set the very tip of his hand to rest on the other's hand. “I would like that very much, my name is Felix.” He said softly now playing along trying to hide his true intentions. He would be patient, get outside and at the first moment snap into gear and hopefully fly away. It did dawn on him that he had no idea where he was or where home was, but breaking away successfully was his first and only concern.

Emeric stood up with the male's hand in his. He guided him out of the compound over many dead bodies. The hallways reeked of death; blood lining the bodies. It was a massacre of both vampire and werewolf alike. It seemed the long winding hallways would never end, but finally they came across a ladder that went up. He grabbed onto it and climbed up letting go of Felix's hand. He waited at the top for him, and once he got up he grabbed his hand again. He knew that he would try to escape; what person in their right mind wouldn't? So he took great precautions; a line of vampires all around them and he was personally holding his hand. For an extra measure he took off his jacket and draped it around him "It gets cold in the night." Was his explanation for it.

They walked for a long time until they reached a clearing. He then turned to Felix and looked him in the eye. "Forgive me, but we can't have you knowing the way around our base now." He then held him as a syringe was injected into his neck. Felix soon fell asleep. Then Emeric picked him up carefully and walked him into their base. He walked through many winding hallways, some would call a labyrinth, but they knew their way around there. He opened the door to a room gesturing for three guards to stand way. He placed Felix on the bed and walked into the bathroom. The door of the bedroom was locked from the outside, and there wasn't a door handle from inside. The only way out was to figure out the secret knock for the guards to open the door, but then you'd have to get passed the three guards. Then work your way through the labyrinth of hallways, in which there were multiple vampire's. If you managed to get passed that; one you'd be an amazing escape artist, and two you'd reach the last defense system. On the door to go outside in the base; there are a series of combinations you have to put in to unlock the door.

Emeric took a shower thinking of the day's events. Fun. Can't wait to feel the power of this guy's blood. Many more thoughts went through his head as he showered. Not any of them worth mentioning. Once he was done he stepped out onto the fine rug and sighed as he dried himself off.

Trying his best to avoid looking upon the carnage that was practically everywhere, Felix found it almost unavoidable as bodies of werewolves and vampires alike lay scattered everywhere as they went. It was not the blood that disturbed him or even made him nauseous, but rather the knowledge of what these vampires could do to hurt him. The demon wasn’t really violent at all, sure he could struggle and be pushy but he never tried to actively hurt anyone. It was against his nature, however after being around creatures who know nothing but violence he had learned to always be prepared for pain. It still didn’t stop his hands from shaking as he was finally led to a ladder, he had seen this ladder once before. When he tried to make his last daring escape, he too knew what was at the top but beyond that, he did not.

Breathing a slight sigh of relief as the vampire released his hand, Felix was starting to mentally prepare himself for what he would have to do in order to get out. Following up the ladder slowly, he instantly grew hesitant at the large volume of vampires waiting at the top. Before he could really think of anything, the half-vampire grabbed his hand more firmly than before. Perhaps he was wrong to believe this vampire was ignorant of his intentions, still, he had a few more opportunities to make an attempt. Although he didn’t actually look that strong, he could do some damage with his massive wings and whip-like tail. The newest additions would certainly cause injury as the two spikes protruding from his tail were small yet very sharp. All he had to do was just out into the open sky, his wings would do the rest.

Startled as something heavy and warm was draped over his wings and around his shoulders effectively making his plans a little bit more difficult, the demon was catching on quickly to what was going on and mumbled a quiet ‘thank you’ despite how displeased he looked. That quickly melted away the moment they stepped foot outside and Felix took in a long deep breath of fresh air. It smelt like fall and indeed the breeze was on the chilly side, although he wasn’t exactly dressed appropriately for the outdoors either. Still, the sight of the forest around them, the sounds of the crickets chirping in the night, and the feeling of cool dew-wet grass on his bare feet did make him smile contently. It felt so good to be out of the cramped and dusty hole, his wings were shifting excitably under the thick fabric itching to fully spread out and flap. He hasn’t been allowed to fly since... the demon had to think about that one for a full moment before he had come to realized he hasn’t flown at all since his capture. Sure he attempted, but never in the wide and open sky. He just had to wait for a clearing where he could make his move and dart into the sky.

Felix could feel the stares of dozens of vampires watching his every move as they walked through the dense forest, but despite this, the steps were light and almost carefree. His yellow eyes darting around to observe all the scenery around them, he even spotted a fawn hiding a scrub a few meters away and couldn’t hide his smile. ‘Cute,’ he thought seemingly enjoying the change of scenery, for too long he has been looking at dull grey walls and ugly unruly beasts. Even though it was more tastefully with the vampires, it was much less the same boring stuff. He longed to be outside, it is where he felt most comfortable. It was where he belonged. The moment they stepped into a clearing his eyes went skyward to look upon the stars, despite being a little cloudy it was still a beautiful sight to behold. And a troubling one, none of the stars looked familiar. He was far from home. Regardless, now was a good time as any, his wings were jerking now wanting to be rid of the jackets and be released into the sky.

Emeric’s words brought Felix’s attention back down a second too late, he felt the sharp stab the same moment he realized the vampire’s intentions. His wings flailed and smacked helplessly against the solid form holding him as he attempted to pull free but the drugs did their work quickly and he slumped down quite quickly. A look of fear and betrayal on his face before he fell limp soundly asleep. ‘Goodbye night sky,’ were the last thought he remembered before he woke up sometime later. The stone ceiling above greeted him as he groggily blinked away sleep, his body felt heavy from the drugs but he was comfortable. Slowly the demon looked down and realized he was placed upon a bed, mind slow to process all it meant. He didn't actually need to know more to know he was trapped, it was all the same. A cage and a windowless room were practically the same in his eyes, still tired from the drug's effects the little demon slowly turned onto his side and curled up. It was all the same, it was only a matter of time before the biting started and he would be left in a frail state too weak to get out of this bed. This was his life...

A never-ending cycle of cruelty and suffering, wanting nothing more than to hide from it all Felix couldn’t stop the streams of tears from rolling down his face as he sniffled. Unthinkingly his wings slowly shifted to shield over him creating a barrier of flesh and bone between him and the world around him, it was a feeble attempt to protect himself but it was all he could do. Vampires were stronger than him, faster too. He had a better chance of escaping the werewolves than he did the vampires, but that hope was quickly doused. When would he finally be free?
