Freak Sheet
Before she knew it, lunch had arrived. Felicity couldn’t even remember what had happened in her lessons, either she was asleep or she was busy thinking about needing sleep. Something or other like that. The girl trudged over to the a table in the corner of the cafeteria, she sat alone as she ate the rather plain food the school served up- with an elbow on the table and an arm propping up her head. “This barely qualifies as pizza, jeez. I’ll just get the fries next time.” She mumbled to herself as she put the pizza to one side and added more salt to her fries, forgetting she’d done that moments ago when she had initially picked up the fries. At least the school couldn’t screw salt up.
Felicity’s disengaged and half opens eyes flickered around the room lazily as she are her now too salty fries, her mind was somewhere else entirely. She could only barely make out someone who seemed to be Lydia entering the cafeteria before some kind of explosion went off. A similar reaction to be startled earlier in the day ensued, dark tentacle and all. Her eyes scrambled around the room for a cause, there didn’t seem to be anything or fire but what was present was a body of smoke. Felicity’s tired eyes opened wide in shock upon reading the message in the smoke, only getting wider with a gasp when she watched some kid drop when he made contact with the smoke. There was a clear connection here, and she was beyond surprised the killer would just announce themselves like that. What was the purpose? They must’ve been just that confident in their abilities to not only remain undiscovered, but also to fight off anyone who tries to discover them. Were they just after attention that badly? These questions and more were floating around in her mind just after she’d had her initial thought about it all:
“What the hell? he just straight up died.” There was no way he wasn’t dead, she was sure. Felicity only proceeded cautiously towards what she believed to be a corpse once a convenient whirlwind had kept the smoke in place. There were a few people there, Lydia,...some others. That boy from earlier, the one who said her powers were cool, he was there too. Eventually she remembered Jisung was his name. Her cautious walk had eventually led her to stand next to Jisung, she would’ve instantly approached Lydia but Lydia was on a table right now and Felicity wanted a closer look at the victim to confirm his death. Another boy she didn’t know was there too, shaking the supposedly deceased boy around. Though upon further inspection by looking over this boy’s shoulder, Felicity noticed the corpse was still breathing. So not a corpse then, the tension in Felicity’s shoulders visibly decreased with a sigh of relief when she realised this, but it was only short lived before she remembered what had just happened. They weren’t safe here, at all.
“D-did anybody see who actually made the smoke or anything?” Felicity asked as confidently as she could to the small group around, trying to get some information while trying to replicate Lydia’s authoritative tone. Though her body language gave off any emotion but confidence. The creepiness of the whole thing was starting to get uncanny and Felicity didn’t like it at all.
