1. Disease sounds fine to me and most reasonable.
2. If this roleplay is going to have time skips, that'd be better, imo though.

I had a few ideas for characters and maybe you all could help make my decision easier!!

1. A female doctor, originally from elsewhere in Europe (tbd). She works in the castle very high up as a royal medic, but has a dark secret that could put her life at risk. Despite the king’s ban on witchcraft, she’s become gifted in the arts and uses it in her practice from anywhere from battlefield patch ups to tonics for a cold. She’s very serious and secretive, but has a kind heart.

2. A royal knight, still trying to figure out his place in life and the castle. He wants nothing more than to be good at his job, and works hard, but is accident prone and forgetful. He messes up a lot, but means well and is the nicest guy you’ll meet. A bit of a pushover and trusts easily, his Captain of the Guard has been trying to drill how dangerous his niceness is for the royal family. He’s working on it.

3. A lady in waiting, the middle daughter of some lord or lady who lives in or around the castle. She’s demure and sweet, and treats everyone with kindness but doesn’t value herself and let’s people walk all over her, especially with her status as a lady in waiting. She takes her studies in politics and language and arts very seriously, wanting to make her father proud, even though her elder sister whom hates her is set to take her father’s spot as Lady of Whitmore, their territory. She can’t help but to harbor a bit of resentment for this, as her sister is a spoiled brat who knows nothing of her people or land.

I like one and two.
If you were a doctor you would need to befriend one of the royals to save your head

If you were a knight you’d be assigned to the princess.

If you were a lady you could get the king or prince favor become a mistresses and out do your older sister

This one because she looks like a rebel lol but she's also very pretty

This one because I can see men underestimating her because of her beauty, she has the element of surprise

Final question! I think last time long introductions killed the role play should we start with everyone at the Royal dinner ? Instead of building up to it for example
