Hey all. So I have a very specific RP request. To put it simply, it’s a Sci-Fi/Drama/Romance Slice of Life based off the movie The Martian. It’s perhaps one of my favorite movies to recently come out and I can’t help but watch it every time I come across it on the TV. Now I find myself craving an RP taking place on Mars. Just what I need while gearing up for NaNoWriMo.
First off, a bit of housekeeping.
Standard RPNation Rules, and etiquette apply.
- As with most RP’s around here, I cannot do one liners. Give me a couple of paragraphs at least.
- I only RP MxF Romances. Sorry. I’ve got not problem with MxM or FxF, I just can’t for the life of me write it.
- 18+ years of age only please.
- I prefer to RP Male characters.
- This story can be OCxOC, OCxCanon, or CanonxCanon. Will be explained below.
- Please attempt to reply a couple of times a week. I understand busy schedules. I have one myself.
- Don’t be afraid to talk and share plot ideas with me.
Onto the juicy stuff. This RP can go in several different directions and I’m okay with any direction. Hell, if you’ve got a completely different idea, feel free to let me know. I love talking plots. It’s probably one of my favorite things to do. Anywho here’s what I’ve got so far…
Choice 1: Takes place on a mission to Mars after Mark Watney is rescued (Let’s call it the Ares VI mission). You and I play crewmembers of our choice from the Ares VI crew on one of the last missions to Mars for the foreseeable future. Nothing too specific right now, but like I mentioned this could just be a slice of life RP. But hey, it’s months in space. Who knows what could happen?
Choice 2: Mark Watney wasn’t the only one left on Mars when the Ares III was forced to evacuate. Instead of 1 astronaut, NASA now has 2 astronauts they need to rescue. Second astronaut could either be OC or Canon. The choice is yours. But if you choose Canon, you’re left with 2 choices, either Mission Commander Melissa Lewis or Super Nerd Beth Johanssen.
Choice 3: Similar to the choice above. Only all OC’s. Mark Watney was never chosen for the Ares III mission. Either he didn’t make the cut or he got the measles days before launch (kudos if you get the reference!). Instead of Mark Watney, it’s a couple of other astronauts stranded on the surface of Mars.
