Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
A British wizarding school in the Scottish Highlands, it was originally founded in the 10th century by the wizards Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, and Salazar Slytherin. It's a state-owned school funded by the Ministry of Magic and is considered on of the finest magical schools in the Wizarding World. Magical children ages 11 to 12 from Great Britain and Ireland are invited to attend the boarding school for 7 years of magical education. The castle, where the school takes place, is has been rendered unplottable so its precise location cannot be found by normal means. Currently it is being run by Headmaster Geoffrey Lundorf who was elected by the Hogwarts Board of Governors after the retirement of Headmistress Minerva McGonagall. With him came a whole slew of new teachers and teaching methods to accommodate the newer generation. However the basic principals of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft remains the same: to teach young witches and wizards so that they might step out into the world prepared for the trials that await them.
Notable Locations within the Castle include: The Black Lake, The Forbidden Forest, The Quidditch Pitch, The Great Hall, The Grand Staircase, East Wing, West Wing, The Dungeons, The Astronomy Tower, The Gryffindor Tower, The Ravenclaw Tower, The Kitchens, Hufflpuff Common Room, The Courtyard, The Owlery, etc.
The Four HousesStudents are divided into four houses by the Sorting Hat upon attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Based on the four founders of Hogwarts, each of the houses are represented by their own color schemes, house animals, and have their own common rooms, and principals. The Gryffindor house values bravery, chivalry, determination, and righteousness. Their color scheme is red and gold, their animal is a lion, and their element fire. The Ravenclaw house values intelligence, wisdom, cleverness, and creativity Their color scheme is blue and bronze, their animal the eagle, and their element air. The Hufflepuff house values patience, kindness, fairness, and loyalty. Their color scheme is yellow and black their animal is the badger, and their element earth. The Slytherin house values cunning, ambition, self-preservation, and lineage. Their color scheme is green and silver, their animal is the snake and their element water. The four house traditionally complete for the house cup and maintain friendly rivalries with each other in Hogwarts.
