Welcome to Princess Margaret Private Hospital, the only private stand-alone psychiatric teaching hospital in the state. Located on a 10-hectare (25-acre) site, this hospital has 178 beds and 320 nurses on staff. Princess Margaret is a full accredited psychiatric teaching hospital and has research and education facilities located on the campus. It is used as a major training facility for medical, nursing and other health professionals specialising in mental health.

As a part of its research, Princess Margaret is the only psychiatric hospital which has its own online experience. Each patient is given a monitored laptop which has extremely limited access to the internet. One site which they are encouraged to use is an online chat messenger and forum which is moderated by nurses and doctors, so patients can interact with other patients within the hospital.

For a group of young adults, they’ve created a lonely hearts club. None of them have met before physically, but have decided to meet up within the hospital after speaking to each other for over two weeks. Once they meet up, they discover that each of them have been told they have thirty days remaining of their time within the facility. Although, it’s always subject to change and sometimes it can last longer. At this realisation, the group decide to make a pact together – that come thirty days, if they’re not released at the same time as promised, they will end their lives together.

Throughout the next thirty days, their bond to one and another grows and they become reliant on each other. When thirty days is over, and if they find out they're not being released, will they end their lives? Or will their friendship (or something more?) cause them to reflect on their choices in life and keep on moving forward? [/div][/div][/div] [div class=2nd]

[ I ] Follow all RPNation rules. Respect everyone, fade to black for erotic content or extreme gore, and be mature with sensitive matters.

[ II ] There are THREE positions available. It’s NOT first-come, first-serve. Characters will be accepted based on who will make great additions to our plotlines. Roles are not gender locked, but I am looking for one other male and two females. Also, characters to be young adult (19 - 30 years old)

[ III ] There are no set roles but rather set role keywords. For example, if the keyword was 'the image', your character could be someone who likes to take photographs or could be someone who has a popular image to uphold (a celebrity of sorts). If you are struggling with ideas for role keywords, please let me know and I can help you!

[ IV ] Discord for OOC is a requirement

[ V ] Semi-literate at least. Therefore, expectations on posts are approximately 500 words (details and dialogue).

[ VI ] Once or twice a week in the in-character thread. This is open to discussion once all applicants have been approved as personal and real-life is a top priority

[ IX ] Each day/chapter of the roleplay will be based off a photo prompt. For example; the first prompt could be ‘self’. Therefore, the plot will surround the whole concept of the characters perhaps introducing themselves. The second prompt for the next chapter could be ‘animal’. Therefore, the plot will surround or include something to do with animals; it could be a character gives the person they like a fluffy toy dog from the gift shop.

[div class="scroll"]The sun burnt his skin, the grass caused the back of his head to sweat and itch, and he had a sneaky suspicion that there were probably a million bugs underneath him, waiting for their opportunity to attack. But he didn’t care. Because for once in his life, he was happy to welcome them all. He was happy to see the sun against his skin and to feel the soft grass underneath him. He would gladly take the millions of bugs that were planning their next move. All because he had missed it. It had been weeks since he was allowed to go outside, so he was going to appreciate every moment of it.

After his… stay in the hospital… Teo Choi had been transferred to London Hospital to Princess Margaret Private Hospital. Now, it was a nice little place. The doctors and nurses were nice enough. He had been here for a grand total of five days and was still yet to piss anyone off (which was a world record). Not to mention their security was shocking for a private hospital. He had managed to steal some medicine during his little walk in the hallways today – and it had been his first time out of his room too. Like, pick up your game guys.

Teo could feel the medicine container burning his pyjama pants pocket as he laid there under the tree with his eyes closed with content. Today was the first time since he had transferred (in five days) that he was given permission to leave his room. Instead of venturing around the hospital like most other patients had been given access to, Teo had been confined within his room with nothing more than his clothes and a laptop provided by the hospital.

That was when he met the Lonely Hearts online server. Sure, he had been sceptical about looking at the online forums for the website the hospital had; he thought that maybe it would be full of crazy people. But within the last five days of being online, talking to the Lonely Hearts server, he began to realise something; not everyone in this hospital was crazy. Big surprise, right? But that these people in this server were… just lost. And sad. Really sad. Just like him. And he connected with that. Which was why he made the suggestion that they should meet up during their scheduled free time today. The other five had agreed and they said a time, place and location. Funnily, though, he never actually got their real names. Only their usernames. Well, I suppose today’s meeting was going to be something special and unique.

According to the weatherman, there was no rain scheduled at all for the day (thank God) and the temperature was… well, it was just right. So Teo had told them all to meet up outside the large oak tree in their outdoor area. He had been the first to arrive and well, he just couldn’t help himself – he had to lie down and to take in everything that he took for granted before. It felt nice to be here, in this moment. But he knew that it wouldn’t last. He knew that all the pain and suffering would slowly start to creep its way back into his life. That everything was like the weather; it was seasonal. Things come and go. And he was praying that this good weather was here to stay longer than usual.

It wasn't really surprising that Alex took to joining online chatrooms as soon as she was allowed to. She'd been at Princess Margaret Private Hospital for two months now, and she'd only remained sane because of yoga, her crystals, and the Lonely Hearts server.

It wasn't that she hated this place. Sure, she didn't like the fact that she had time limits for how long she could spend outside her room, and she hated being thrust into a hospital environment yet again, after spending years going in and out of them and being subjected to a variety of pokes and prods, but at the same time she knew her parents strongly believed this would help. They were looking out for her. And while she knew it wasn't going to work, she knew she only had a month left in there. She may as well ride it out and make them happier for a little bit longer, before it all came to an end. She'd already made up her mind for what would happen after that.

It seemed there were other such likeminded people on the Lonely Hearts server. She knew none of their names, and she wasn't even sure if she met any of them in real life, outside the safe anonymity of the chat room. Alex had interacted with others because she was the kind of person who needed people to talk to, to remain sane, but she knew it was easier to be yourself online, when nobody actually knows who you are.

All that, however, was coming to an end today. She'd finally be meeting all five other people from the server and she couldn't be more excited.

The moment she was allowed to step outside, Alex saddled up Roscoe by her side — she treats her oxygen tank like he's a living thing, get used to it — and walked out of the building, into the daylight. She adored the sound of the grass crunching underneath her sneakers though it was a bit of a pain to wheel Roscoe along it. No, it'd be a pain to clean up afterward, but she wasn't too worried about that at the moment. She was more looking forward to meeting the five strangers she'd bonded with over the past few weeks. And who knows? Maybe she'd already met some of them.

The oak tree wasn't hard to miss. In fact, she was pretty sure she could already see someone laying underneath it. So i'm not the first to arrive. Good. She'd have someone to talk to.

As Alex walked over, she tried to think of what to say to break the ice. She didn't recognise the guy so Alex knew they hadn't met before, but they definitely interacted online so she tried to think about which username matched him. Unfortunately, it was impossible to tell. So, instead of going the guessing game route like she had initially planned, Alex instead came up with a sillier alternative.

She'd seen plenty of patients sneak their meds into their pockets to try and sell them off in exchange for something or the other. Now, that had never been Alex's game, but she thought a good way to interrupt this guy would be to try and act the same, just for fun.

Of course, having never met an actual drug dealer, Alex didn't know how these things usually went down. She was going off something she'd seen in some movie ages ago, which was ridiculous, but given her presence online, maybe it'd also give him a clue as to who she was.

Alex was near him now, and instead of actually speaking to get his attention, she used Roscoe, wheeling him in front of her and nudging the guy's shoulder gently. "Hey," she called out as loudly as she could in a whisper, as though trying to be discreet. "Hey, blondie."

When Alex finally caught his attention and met his gaze, she spoke again, gesturing to the tank beside her and looking around as if to make sure nobody was watching. "Wanna buy some oxygen?"

It was quiet, for the most part. Blankets scrunched up awkwardly on the bed, half thrown off the young woman's body. She began to stir. It wasn't the waking up kind. No, Ellis would much rather be awake than experience this dream over again. Her breath became quicker, heart pounding in her chest, as she tossed in her sleep. Unintelligible whispers came stumbling out of her lips. All of a sudden she sat up. She pushed down on the bed with her arms as she shook the wad of comforter in front of her. Her voice built in intensity, starting at a whisper but within seconds she screamed. Her voice was desperate as she called out to the empty room. "Wake up!" Her voice echoed, boucing off the blank walls. It was then that she woke up. The rigidity in her body slowly subsided as she became more aware of her surroundings. She was in her bed at the hospital. Alone. Safe. The woman took deep breaths to calm herself down. It wasn't everyday that she had a night terror. The number had dwindled to only a few every couple months from when she was a teenager. They were really only when she was anxious about something. Or around this time of year.

Ellis looked over at the clock. She sighed. 6:37 am flashed at her. There was no way she was going back to sleep. Of course today was going to be a hard day. Like how storm clouds quickly arise in the horizon, her depressed mood could fall on her. Looming ominously close by and giving those pressure sensitive a headache Not only did she have to feel anxious about meeting her new found friends, but her own brain chemistry had turned against her today. Wonderful. Love you too serotonin.

Deciding she needed a distraction, Ellis got up out of her bed and turned on the light. She grabbed the thick book that sat on her bedside table and flopped back down into her bed. The woman had just started A Man Who Only Loved Numbers by Paul Hoffman. The biography of Paul Erdos, a Hungarian Mathematician, fascinated Ellis. Not only had he published more mathematical papers than anyone else to date, but his personality was eccentric to say the least. His life story was just as thrilling as the math principals discussed. She would have preferred more detail when explaining the mathematics, but this was a biography. Maybe she'd request a book on advanced number theory next. Math had always been one of her strong suits.

His story had made her wonder if all extraordinary minds were fragmented, doomed to be classified as peculiar. Minds like Einstein's or Tesla's were too powerful for them to be normal. Ellis felt slightly comforted in the fact that great minds were really alike; that her own wasn't as different from other geniuses. Was it slightly conceited to consider herself a genius? Probably. But that was really her only trait worth mentioning. The fact that she had some confidence in her own intelligence told her today wouldn't be as depressed as she thought it to be. At least not right now anyways.

By the time she looked up at the clock, she realized that she had already wasted most of her time before the group meet up. The lonely hearts club was finally going to meet in person. They had all been talking to each other for quite some time now. Ellis really enjoyed their conversations. There was an interesting mix and energy in the group that she felt comfortable with. It had been much easier for her to join the chat than it would have been for her to go up to anyone in person. She, personally, would have been fine to stay exclusively online. Meeting face to face made things much more difficult for her.

As she got dressed in a simple t-shirt and pair of comfy green pants, she couldn't help be feel nervous. She decided to bring her book in case she decided to chicken out and pretend to just go and sit on that nearby bench to read. Because she was feeling very uneasy about all of this. Questions zoomed in her head. What if they didn't like her? They may have been talking for months, but real her was much more...awkward and smartalick than online her. What if they had met before and they hated her? What if she said something stupid? What if...? What if...? Ellis shook her head as she walked down the hallway. It was a half-baked attempt to break the cycle of anxiety.

The sunshine felt nice on her skin as she walked out. The fresh air did wonders for her. The fact the weather was nice was an added comfort. Ellis took her time walking over to the tree. Part nerves, part bliss. She wanted to soak up as much sun as humanly possible. If she could bottle the stuff or take it as a pill, she would probably overdose on it. Wasn't there a little nursery rhyme about that? Put the sunshine in your pocket for a rainy day. If it had been grey, or rainy, she probably wouldn't have left her room today. With book in hand, she finally made it to the meeting spot. She stood a good couple feet away. She could see two people. Great. Two humans. One was hard enough. Why couldn't she have come sooner? Her exit plan started to look pretty good right about now.

Ellis firmly reminded herself that these were no strangers. They were friends. This should be the easiest introduction of her life. They both seemed relaxed and easy to to approach. So she found the courage somewhere in her being to stroll up, standing just behind the girl with an oxygen tank. She didn't exactly recognize either of them. Ellis had heard the other girl's introduction, she couldn't help but let a little snort of amusement come out. What? it was funny. When they looked over at her, all she could do was muster a small smile with a shy wave. Geez, peopleing was hard!

The night had passed and she hadn't earned a whisper of sleep, simply staring at the ceiling as time ticked by her tirelessly. She was no insomniac — no, Cosy was a rather skilled sleeper — but the excitement of knowing that finally, she would be meeting the five names she'd grown so familiar with was just too much to bear. In fact, even as she stumbled to her dresser and shrugged on a top, she wasn't sure quite how she was feeling. She knew that she should be nervous, maybe even frightened, but in truth, she wasn't feeling much of anything.

Quietly, she slipped from her room and padded down the hall, footfalls soft against the cold ground. Cosy had become accustomed to the hospital in the near month she'd been there, and she'd grown fond of the little courtyard. From the moment she knew of its existence, she begged the staff to let her visit it, and she made sure to stay on her best behavior just to make sure she could go out each morning. When she stepped outside, the rush of perfectly cool air and sweet singsong calls of birds were familiar, and felt refreshing to both her mind and skin.

Usually, she would've gone straight to the edge of the courtyard, where she liked to simply lay in the grass and watch the clouds. But today, her eyes narrowed as they flicked to the tree that swayed gently in the light breeze. There were three figures under it already — four, maybe? — so she definitely wasn't alone. She gulped, a small rush of adrenaline knotting in her gut. Her legs tensed under her, and suddenly, it seemed a whole lot harder to just move. Biting her lip gently, she patted her hair down and started walking over.

All Cosy could do was hope that they didn't notice her. Maybe it wasn't actually them, and she could just go back to her room and sit in silence. She'd been so excited when she first heard of the plan, but now, she was paralyzed with numbness and an intangible sense of being out of place. Cosy pushed down the creeping sense of malaise and stepped into the light, only giving a small wave and a shaky grin. She wanted to say something. She really, really did. Briefly, she paused, eyes scanning over the figures in front of her. So it wasn't four. An eery sense of familiarity passed over her, but none of the faces rang any immediate bells.

One of the girls had a mischievous grin, and the other was giggling softly. The boy's face was masked by the shadows cast by the tree's dipping branches, so she couldn't gauge his expression. Cosy cleared her throat, renewing her grin and turning to the girl standing by what looked like a large tank, eyeing her light overalls. "I, uh," she gave a small chuckle, only hoping that the others would understand. "I like the blue."

"Mhm."

Did she always talk so much? Dark brown eyes narrowed in the dimly lit closet, his hands gripping the small woman's hips as he buried his nose in the nook of her neck. "Milo, it's past free time!" Fuck.

He had his first in person meeting with the rest of the misfits from their little online cult: the lonely hearts server. Normally he wasn't too worried about being late to a meeting but this had been a special instance. Slowly his hands left the woman's hips before he grabbed onto his white tank-top, pulling it over his dark hair. His lips pressed firmly together while his feet shuffled around the small broom closet to grab his things but most importantly, the small chocolate pudding cup stashed away in the woman's coat pocket.

Milo slowly opened the closet door, poking his head out for a moment before completely exiting the small area. His feet hurried forward while his hands fiddled with the thin film covering the top of the pudding cup. "Milo Rory!" The words coming from behind him didn't phase him as he finally pulled the film off the top of the cup.

"That's my name babe, don't wear it out." He retorted playfully before turning on his heel to continue his walk but backwards so he could face the frazzled nurse. "I'll make it up to you, I promise." With a wink Milo turned once again to face forward, his mouth pressed against the rim of the now not-so-deserved desert. It wasn't like he was stealing the stupid cup, he was just borrowing it until he had another chance to pay his loan. It was a simple process.

Today was going to be a good day. He had woken up in a relatively good mood considering that he could never actually control the one he was in. It was possible that it was due to the fact that today he had something to look forward to. Three years locked in the walls of this place with no visitors really fucks with your head. That and the fact that most of the patients were either a.) intimidated by him or b.) hated him.

Milo tossed the now empty cup into a nearby trash can, his right hand moving to his back pocket to brush the slightly crushed package of pretzels. Little miss el.introvert.exe had requested the pretzels specifically and he wasn't one to let requests slide. Besides, she kind of frightened him so it was best to stay on that one's good side.

Without anymore interruptions Milo opened the doors to the outdoor area, his eyes instantly moving to the meeting tree where four others were currently at. Three girls and one boy specifically. Well, at least he wasn't the one that was late. As he continued towards the tree the others had become clearer in his vision. The things that stuck out the most were the one girls oxygen tank, the almost silver hair of another girl, the shy smile from the dark haired girl, and the blinding blonde bombshell of a boy leaning against the tree.

Not afraid to crash a conversation, Milo strolled up in between the small group. "Okay...", he reached in his pocket to hold up the small bag of pretzels, "...whose are these?"

Okay, yeah, they had definitely met before. The extremely uncomfortable conversation between the pair came to her mind. It had only been a few weeks ago. She had been fairly new. Ellis had been eating lunch when the younger girl decided she wanted to come and eat lunch with her. Not that she cared. It was nice to have the company. Apparently, though, both of them were terrible at small talk. So their 'conversation' was more like general statements about their surroundings. "That plant is nice they added." "The weather is pretty today." "I actually like this sandwich." Were some of the highlights. Ellis had kind of hoped to never speak to her again. Not because she disliked her. No. She'd rather not go through whatever that awkwardness was ever again. But she still replayed that conversation in her mind to try and remember her name. Wait...it was there...C..c...Cosmos...no..Cosima! She felt triumphant in actually remembering. The only reason she remembered is because her name was close to cosmos. Cosmos reminded Ellis of space. And she liked space.

Ellis now realized that the other girl must be Darth_Hideous. She mentally kicked herself in stupidity. Of course she was Darth. The flipping oxygen tank should have given it away completely. The older girl couldn't help but appreciate her adorable outfit. The colors and overalls matched her happy-go-lucky personality. She now saw she had two gorgeous friends. Friends. That was not a word she often used to refer to another human being. It felt strange but at the same time, she felt a warmness settle into her heart.

Her eyes wandered to the blonde boy under the tree. He seemed to be enjoying the outdoors as much as she had been. He was cute. Blonde hair messy with an innocent look to his face. She tried to place a name with the face. Maybe tchoi_freckle? He did say he was asian. Was that racsist? He kinda had that sunny look she always expected the freckle boy to have. But maybe she was wrong.

Another stranger strolled up to the rag-tag group of crazies. He was older that the other three, closer to her own age. He was someone she recognized immediately. How couldn't she? Almost everyone knew him. While she didn't know his name, he had a notorious reputation around the hospital. It wasn't exactly a positive one. He was one of those people she avoided. Her initial reaction was to stiffen up. She became slightly uncomfortable in his sudden appearance.

That was until he started speaking and Ellis heard the crinkly noise of a plastic bag.

A slow, small smile tugged at her lips. Her eyes slightly lit up in appreciation. So this was imperialserpant666. And he hadn't been lying about the pretzels at all. Her initial discomfort turned to conflict. So was he the cocky idiot who made her die laughing but she knew he held some sort of affection for her? Or the cold, manipulative man who everyone made him out to be? Right now she just wanted to eat those damn pretzels. "Those would be mine," She raised her hand slowly to catch his attention. She took in his appearance. Well built, dark hair with dark eyes. He wasn't unattractive. In fact quite the opposite. A smirk suddenly played on her features. "I thought you said you were a ten?" She voiced, he tone slightly mocking. In all seriousness, she really hadn't meant to say it out loud. It just happened to slip through the gigantic holes that were her verbal filter. As soon as it left her mouth, she wanted to eat the words. 'I thought we were supposed to be on our best behavior El!' Her brain scolded her. Her cheeks slightly blushed in nervousness.

Ellis' smile dropped slightly. "Dang, you probably won't give me my pretzels now," She added. She pulled her lips together in an awkward line. That wasn't even half bad to be honest. Wait till she said something she actually regretted. Which would probably happen relatively soon considering her own track record.

His favourite past time back at home had always been lying in the backyard and just cloud gazing. Dreaming of a better time and a better place in life. You know, all that emo stuff. But right now, he couldn’t think of anything better than just lying down with his eyes closed and letting the world slowly keep on moving by as he stayed silent and still in this moment.

Well, his moment was getting interrupted as he felt – wait what the hell was that?

Scrunching up his face in confusion, Teo attempted to open his eyes as wide as possible (thanks Mr Sun for the damn glare) to see what it was that was nudging him and who it was that was calling him… blondie? Almost like a child being pulled out of a deep sleep, his hair standing on it’s ends at the back as blades of grass clung to the locks, Teo’s eyes came face to face with… What the hell was that? A helium tank? How the hell did this person managed to get a helium tank into the hospital? With a confused complexion obviously plastered over his face, Teo gazed up at the face of the girl who was offering him… oxygen? Wait. What the hell was happening?

One by one, it seemed like a domino effect came into play as new people started to rock up. The extrovert inside of him was screaming for joy but his face was still plastered with confusion. He lifted his upper body off the floor by planting his elbows into the grass beneath him and rested his weight upon them. Slowly, dark eyes began to travel from face to face to try and figure out just who the hell these people were. While Teo was musically gifted and had his quirks and talents in certain areas, it didn’t mean that he was… well… Let’s just say he didn’t do well in school. He was the kid in the back of the class that barely paid attention and would often make paper aeroplanes or pass notes throughout the class.

He tried to put the puzzle together to who was what user. That one chick with the silver hair had mentioned something about being blue or something… So… she was theblueisalie? Okay, he was getting that one. That was easy. But… this girl with the helium tank, the dude with the pretzels, the girl declaring that they were for her and… wait, there was another Asian dude? That couldn’t be right. He could’ve sworn he was the only Asian in the group. Well, they always made it out to be like that within the last five days of joining the server. So, Teo Choi was absolutely and utterly confused as hell.

Why couldn’t people just make their usernames something that was remotely them? For example, his own username; it was genius. Tchoi_freckle. T for Teo, Choi for his last name and freckle because of his lonely and only freckle on his upper left cheek. Anyone would pick up on that username if they saw him, right? And well, not to mention… He was probably high half the time he was in the server. Many times he would wake up the next morning to find that he had just spent hours sending annoying animations or lurking and actually not providing real replies. He spent most of his mornings backdating on all the stupid crap he typed when he was high on pills he stole from the nurses; like his suggestion for them to all meetup. Had he not been high that night, he wouldn’t have suggested that they should meet up. And well, look at them now. Meeting up because of some high dude’s idea. Granted, they probably didn’t realise he was under the influence considering it was meant to be a high-security hospital.

Hearing the male’s comment about this is us, Teo slowly nodded in agreement. It must’ve been… His eyes dancing around to everyone’s faces once again, still struggling to put usernames to faces. Ah man, was he meant to know who everyone was? Finally, his eyes landed on the girl closest to him and her tank. Why the frick did she have a tank? Raising his hand slightly, he knocked the metal contraception with his knuckles to hear it echo. “What’s the deal with the helium tank, Miss Clown?” he asked, his eyes moving from the tank to her face “You here to make some blow-up balloon animals cause we’ve all been good kids?”

Alex hadn't been sure if her attempt at a joke had worked on the blonde boy but when she heard a snicker coming from behind her, a smile lit up her face. At least it worked on someone. That was a win. She turned around, coming face to face with two girls she didn't recognise. Alex tried to make some connections to try and match the person with the usernames she'd gotten so familiar with over the past few weeks.

The moment the silver haired girl commented on her overalls, Alex grinned a little wider, partially because of the compliment, partially because she recognised another fellow brit, and also because she made one correct assumption. She was theblueisalie, which meant that the other girl had to be el.introvert.exe.

"Thanks," she replied. "I like the hair," she nodded to the girls light-coloured locks before gesturing to her own hair. "I wanna dye mine. When you're a ginger, people make too many assumptions." Alex strangely felt more comfortable, knowing she wasn't the only one with a different accent.

Mere moments later, they were joined by another. Now he was a familiar face, and she had a feeling a couple of the others had probably seen him around too. She remembered a few instances in the past when she approached him and offered to try and improve his mood with her healing crystals. Since then, she tried to make sure she had it on her all the time, whether he believed in them or not. It was just amusing to see his reaction whenever she brought them out and offered to use them on him.

At the moment, she couldn't match Milo with a username, but when the pretzels came out, it all came together in her head. Alex never would have pictured him as the type to frequent online chat rooms, let alone stick around the lonely hearts server, but here he was, imperialserpent666 in the flesh. "Serpy," she nodded in his direction, using one of the many nicknames she derived from his online username. "Nice to know you make good on your promises. Now I know who to ask for extra jello."

The group became complete when they were joined by their last member. Now, Alex had no way of telling who was fosterkid and who was tchoi_freckle. Neither of them really had freckles, or maybe she wasn't looking properly. Either way, her attention was quickly grabbed by the blonde she'd seen first, who had shifted his position in the grass, likely to see them all a bit better. "It's oxygen," she corrected him, a smirk on her face. "Though I wish it was helium. I always wondered if it could make a human float if you consumed enough," she shrugged, tapping on her nubbins before glancing around at everyone else.

"I guess some introductions are in order," Alex wondered aloud before settling herself into the grass and sitting cross legged. "I'm Alex, aka, darth_hideous," she paused to gesture to her oxygen tank, "this is Roscoe, aka, the main thing keeping me alive." Alex then patted the grass in front of her as an indication for everyone else to settle in and get comfortable. "I've only met one of you in person before," her eyes briefly darted to Milo before she looked around at the others, "and I think I've more or less matched most of you to your usernames, but I don't want to seem presumptuous."

Her initial excitement had only been bolstered by everyone's sweet demeanors and the ginger's compliment. She grinned back at the girl, nodding gratefully before turning back to the group. Immediately, her mind start turning, trying to match faces to letters. It was surprisingly hard, except for a few givens. As she scanned the group again, a shock of familiarity hit her in the gut. No, this wasn't just recognizing a passerby. She knew someone here. Her stomach turned when she realized who it was. The sassy girl had just been an ill-fated lunch companion, but it seemed the world had dragged them back together. She gulped. Hopefully the rest of their face-to-face chemistry wouldn't be so poor. But what Cosy was really taken aback by was the sauntering brunet waving around his bag of pretzels like it was Willy Wonka's golden ticket.

She couldn't say she didn't recognize him. Of course, she'd seem him in the halls, and he'd stuck out solely because his face wasn't all too plain. But it wasn't long before she heard the stories, and she had to admit, they were hilarious. Why wouldn't imperialserpent666 be anyone but the very person who was so infamous? The next one she couldn't say she had any idea about. Between him and the blond underneath the tree, it really was a wild card. She'd already figured out the girls, or at least cemented some solid guesses, but the boys were a different story.

Cosy's eyes were grabbed by who she presumed to be darth sitting down. She lowered herself into the tall stalks, sitting on legs tucked underneath her. Hearing Darth's — or rather, Alex's — accent made her feel a pang of nostalgia, but a little bit of comfort almost came with the bittersweet rush. As much as Cosy wanted to introduce herself next, she was suddenly hyper-conscious of her own special accent. Sure, too she sounded like a pretentious Brit, but the heavy rasp that made her sound like she was almost drowning wasn't unnoticeable either. From the moment she'd left the actual hospital it'd been something she'd been insecure about. At first, she barely even had a voice anymore, only a harsh whisper that she herself couldn't understand. The doctors said it was a miracle she could still speak, and maybe she'd just imagined it over time, but she could still hear the underlying condescension when she replayed the moment in her head.

She'd been in constant speech therapy since the moment she stepped into Princess Margaret, but she hadn't been able to shake the gravelly rumbling that marred what had once sounded like the sweet songs of morning robins. With a quiet smile, she nodded at Alex's remark, clearing her throat before deciding to speak up, eyes downcast and fingers knotting in her lap. "We're definitely an interesting bunch," she agreed, her voice quiet. The smile spread into a grin, and she playfully extended a hand towards Roscoe, shaking it in the air before the tank. "Nice to meet you Alex and Roscoe. For any of you who weren't around to hear my genius quips, I'm blue, but just call me Cosy."

Is anyone who they really say they are online? The brunette raised his right eyebrow curiously as the dark haired girl spoke up about the pretzels being hers. He had definitely seen her around the halls before and yet he had never actually seen her, not in the way he did right now. As she commented on his rating Milo pressed his free hand to his chest, groaning in the process. "Right in the ego El." He grinned widely at the girl before tossing the small bag at her willingly before the voice behind him pierced his ears.

Well, if it wasn't jackass Jae.

Milo kept his eyes on the four in front of him as the man's footsteps continued closer. This was not the time or place to get into a fight. The last thing he needed was the others running away because Milo couldn't keep his temper under control. Jae had that affect on him though. His face remained calm as he felt the mans hand in his hair, something that Jae seemed to do anytime he was around. Maybe Jae was gay?

"I don't need a bag of pretzels to get into a g---wait what?", he halted his sentence as he turned to see Jae now staring at the others with the almost equally confused expression. Jae was in the server? Foster. Holy fuck Jae was fosterkid. It all made sense now.

He waited for Jae to continue before he turned his gaze to a girl he knew as the insane crystal girl. Anytime he had a flare up with his emotions she would be running his way with her little bag of crystals. Dark eyes dropped to the oxygen tank by Alex's side for a moment before moving back to her own gaze as she spoke to him. Serpy. The nickname granted another small grin on the males face as he nodded back in her direction, "Jello it is."

For a group that had only met online, the air around seemed familiar. It was like they had their own little breakfast club and Milo was thankful to be apart of it. He eyed the blonde male for a moment before turning to insane cryst--Alex as she started the introductions.

His grin didn't falter as he hooked his left around around Jae's neck, pulling the male towards him until their legs were touching, "And myself, I am Milo and beside me is jackass Jae."

Now the poor bag of pretzels had landed on the grass below. Bending over to retrieve them, she heard a familiar voice. A very familiar voice. Jae?

Back in an upright position, she realized her guess on the voice was correct. Confused and slightly alarmed, Ellis felt her eyebrows pull together in a perplexed manner. Jae had been her chess partner for the last couple weeks. Their first meeting had been a little tense. He had made some snide remark about playing chess. To which she countered by telling him that it was an intelligent people game and that he probably didn't understand. She was then informed that he did play chess. Ellis had gotten annoyed by his presence, stating in quite the mater-of-fact way to leave her alone. She believed her exact words were, "The you can either sit down, play chess, and be nice. Or you can screw off." El had been surprised that he actually sat across from her and began to set the pieces back to their starting points. She didn't know if it was to prove a point or if she had earned some sort of respect.

To any case, she was actually very interested to find out he had been part of their little group. Especially when she tried to place his username. Seeing now that he was also Asian, her whole argument for the username, made her slightly confused on who to pick. She wasn't 100% sure that blonde boy was tchoi_freckle yet, so she couldn't rule him out as such. Though both fosterkid, her only other available option, and tchoi_freckle were drastically different from the Jae she knew. They didn't talk much, but when they did it was normally something intellectual. Jae was able to keep up with advanced topics. But neither fosterkid, nor tchoi_freckle presented themselves as smart online. Much the opposite. They were also much more friendly than he had been.

She had been pulled out of her analysis as someone began to speak. Ellis smiled at Alex. It was nice to put an actual name to her face. She was also pleased that she had been right. El found it endearing that she had named her oxygen tank. Next Cosima, or rather Cosy as she introduced herself. Another correct guess. She seemed sweet. Both girls had accents, which was a pleasant addition to their personalities. She didn't know why the way they spoke made them feel a bit more sweet and a bit more comforting. Next to speak was Milo, introducing himself and Jae. They knew each other, which was interesting. Milo seemed just as surprised as her to find out he was a part of the server. The air around to pair was confusing. Part frustration and part comradery.

Seeing the lull in conversation, Ellis now felt obligated now to put her two cents in. Opening her mouth slightly, pausing before speaking to find her words. "Hi everyone. I'm Ellis. or el.introvert.exe. It's nice to meet the only humans I tolerate in this place," She spoke with some confidence. She decided that she was finished speaking and finally opened the bag of pretzels that had been resting in her hand. She offered to open bag to both Cosy and Alex who was standing beside. That's what friends did right? Shared? Ellis decided to order a book on friendship. Maybe then she'd get better at this.

So, he placed his palms flat on the ground and pushed himself up into an upright position and crossed his legs. Watching as the others sat down also, Teo’s hands automatically found something to fidget with; pulling the strands of grass in front of him and twirling them around his finger.

So Darth_Hideous was the first girl, Alex. Teo couldn’t help but continue to stare at the contraption that she was hooked up to. He didn’t know you could wheel around these bad boys with you. I mean, he could remember using those oxygen things when he was in hospital, but he had never seen one out in the wild which intrigued him. And it even had a name?! Roscoe?! That was freaking cool!

Okay, concentrate – next person. His dark eyes finally dragged itself away from the oxygen tank that was intriguing him so much to look at the silver haired girl. As she announced that she was blue, Teo couldn’t help but allow a wide toothy grin fall upon his lips. So, he had been right! Ah yes! He loved it when he was right about stuff like that! Okay, okay, okay. Her name was… Cosy? Surely that wasn’t her real name, was it? Ah well, there were crazier names out there I suppose.

The next to announce themselves was the other male present at the moment. Milo. Okay… He had heard someone call him Serpy before, so Teo was assuming that the boy’s username was imperialserpent666, right? The boy – sorry, man because this guy looked far from a boy – looked a fair bit older than he did. And for some reason, it left Teo in a slight state of… awe? He wasn’t sure it was. But from the way Milo presented himself, Teo knew one thing for sure; Milo was cool. Even when they talked in the chatrooms, that dude was cool as hell.

Alright, next human. Teo’s eyes continued to look around to the faces of those who spoke, feeling even more excited as each person began to introduce themselves. The extrovert inside of him was screaming with joy and he couldn’t wait to actually have people to physically talk with after being held away in hospital for the last five weeks. He was going crazy and bored out of his little mind.

As the dark-haired girl spoke, Teo could sense that she had managed to pick up more confidence from when she had first approached everyone. Well, that was nice to see. The stupid, goofy grin that had been on his face from the moment everyone started to introduce themselves was still plastered on his face as he listened to the girl speak. Her name was Ellis; and she was el.introvert.exe. Ah man… It was great to finally start putting names to faces. In fact, it was great starting to put names to usernames too because this whole time he had just been going off their user tags.

Oh wait! It was his turn?! That stupid goofy smile on his face only grew more upon realising it was now his turn to introduce himself. His eyes glistened with joy and he felt like his cheeks were on fire from all the smiling. And to think that he was admitted into hospital after multiple suicide attempts.

Ricky was late.

He knew this because he spent over ten minutes in his room, wondering if he should show up at the Oak tree or not, as planned. Ricky took a leap of faith by joining the Lonely Hearts server. The last thing he wanted was to talk to people, when it had never really worked out in his favour in the past. Beyond that, he also didn't want to go through the tumultuous experience of making friends only to scare them away days later with his dangerous unpredictability. What convinced him in the end was the anonymity of it all.

But after today he'd no longer be anonymous, and the thought of that scared him. It was easy to be himself around a group of strangers when they didn't really know who he was, physically. He opened up a little, made friends he'd grown fond of over the past few weeks, but the thought of actually meeting them brought about his anxiety. Ultimately, he knew that if he didn't show up in person, there'd be questions about it on the server, and he could only avoid answering them for so long. Besides, he didn't want to ghost. The server was the only thing that helped him out a little since he came to this place. He didn't enjoy being here, but it was some solace at the end of the day to share those opinions with other likeminded people.

While constantly clenching and unclenching his fists — a nervous tic — Ricky made his way outside. He walked slow, as if he could prolong this as much as possible, but soon enough, he was out in the sunshine, and a group of people had already assembled under the Oak tree. Crap. In hindsight, arriving earlier would have been better. Now he more or less assured that all eyes would be on him when he approached them.

Come on Ricky, these people know you. It can't be so bad.

With that thought in mind, he continued walking till he had approached the gang, all seated on the grass. He had his hands in his pockets, to keep himself from digging his own fingernails into his palms. That wasn't something he wanted his newfound friends to see when they first saw him.

Unsure what to say, he went with the only thing currently on his mind. "Hi."

Amazing.

Fortunately, it wasn't met with weird looks like he expected it would be. One girl, a redhead with tubes going up her nose, grinned in his direction and patted the grass – a gesture he quickly understood. Sit down.

Ricky was suddenly reminded of his sister when he saw her. There was a slight familiarity in appearance, but more than that, her friendliness hit him like a truck at full speed. He wasn't used to it, but it was fortunately a fond memory of his sister, and not a tainted one. So, Ricky happily obliged, settling himself down right next a much larger guy. He took a moment to survey the area to try and identify who was who.

"You're the flash guy," the redhead spoke, addressing him. Upon giving her a second glance, he put some pieces together from the conversations he'd been a part of, and he knew that this was darth_hideous. The oxygen tank should have been his first big giveaway.

"That's me," Ricky nodded and offered a smile. "When I'm not living a lie though, I just go by Ricky."

Was that an awful attempt at humour? Possibly.

Alex was beyond pleased that people leaned into the whole Roscoe thing, instead of looking at her like she was a weirdo for naming her oxygen tank and treating it like a person.

To be fair, such reactions had never bothered her before, especially since for a long time, Roscoe was really the only friend she had when she was confined to her bedroom or a hospital ward, but it filled her with warmth to see the friends she made over the past few weeks on the lonely hearts server just taking to it like it was a normal thing, with Cosy even extending a hand out in greeting. She entertained her, and Alex was grateful.

One by one, they all introduced themselves, and Alex was pleased to learn that she'd been mostly right about their identities. They were just missing one person, but just as freckle — ahem, Teo — mentioned their last member, he showed up, hands in his pockets, an expression on his face that Alex recognised as nervousness. It was in her nature to try and make people feel comfortable though, and that's exactly what she did by gesturing for him to take a seat and join them.

When he introduced himself, Theo's smile grew a little wider because, true to his online persona, he was funny. "To recap, all we were doing was introducing ourselves," Alex explained to him, figuring she'd familiarise him with what they'd all learned so far. One by one, she gestured to each of the others, listing off their names as she did so. "Tchoi, aka, Teo. Then there's Ellis, also known as el.introvert.exe. Cosy, also known as blue — she's currently the latest of Roscoe's objects of affectio — and finally serpy, aka Milo," she rushed through the introductions before realising she forgot one. "Oh! and I'm Alex, aka darth_hideous."

Looking around at all of them, Alex's heart felt full. It was certainly much easier to tolerate being stuck here while knowing that she wasn't alone. She had some form of company in all of them, and it made her happy. At least for however long she had to be here, it wouldn't be so torturous anymore.

"I'm glad we decided to do this," Alex voiced her opinion aloud, adjusting her nubbins before resting her elbows on her knees and leaning forward only to gently nudge Teo's hand away since he was plucking at the grass. "Hey, they have feelings too," she scolded him in a tone that, coming from her, was comical at best, and unlikely to be taken seriously. It never stopped her though. "You're basically severing their limbs right now, if you think about it."

He introduced himself as Teo. Ellis couldn't understand why the name see to fit his character. It had a bright and upbeat sound to it. She wondered what cause him to choose his username. The boy didn't have freckles. Then again, the username was freckle without the s. The girl noticed the singular mole on the boy's face. Ah, now it made more sense. Realizing now she was staring, Ellis decided to look down at her bag of pretzels. Well, it wasn't a bag of pretzels any more. It was a bag that had once contained pretzels that were now replaced with emptiness. And that was a roundabout way to say that Ellis had eaten the whole thing.

Once Teo had mentioned they were missing someone, in.a.flash, it wasn't long for that someone to appear. Something about him felt familiar to Ellis. It wasn't because she knew him, she had never seen the guy before in her life. No. It was the warm brown ringlets that he had that brought the recognition. Her own brother had hair very similar to his. She remembered when they were younger, as they relaxed on the couch or tried to fall asleep, she would pull them to watch them spring back into place. It was soothing for her. It may have been a strange thing to associate to this stranger, but it made her feel more at ease with the new face. The awkward hi he offered made her smile. It seemed she wasn't the only one who was nervous.

As the other boy sat down, Alex helped him get aquatinted to the group, getting him caught up to speed. Then he introduced himself as Ricky. He attempted a joke. It hadn't been funny to Ellis but she considered fake laughing just because. Maybe it would help ease his worry. But soon, her chance was taken away as Alex was scolding Teo. It wasn't very threatening. She didn't know if Alex had a mean bone in her body. It had been her prior statement about being glad that they met that had caught Ellis' attention.

Now that everyone was all here and named, Ellis felt the same way. It shocked her that she was actually glad. Part of her thought this would make things harder, more complicated. As they began to interact, Ellis felt the most at ease as she had ever been around a group of people she had just met. A few days ago she wondered if she would have felt the same way. She probably wouldn't have even come if the meeting was a few days prior. Why? Ellis was running out of time here. Her main psychiatrist had informed her that she would be discharged by the first of next year. That only gave her a few months. What had pushed her to meet them was the fact she wouldn't be able to for much longer. She wanted to make the most of the time she did have left with the online friends she had made. The best way to do that was in person.

"I agree with Alex. About the happy thing.. not the grass... Uh. It's just nice that... I can spend my last couple months here with you all," Ellis mused to the group. How did she feel about leaving? Absolutely terrified. It was probably what caused her night terror and the spike in anxiety she had been experiencing. She looked around at the group. She wondered if anyone else had a discharge date like she did. "Anybody else with a time constraint? It seems a lot of people got discharge dates recently. I got mine. It's the first week in January," She asked, Ellis leaned back on her hands as she sat crisscross in the grass. If any one else had a time limit, one that was closer, then they really had to make the most of it. She already felt that without all of the members of the server, their group would feel incomplete. Ellis had this feeling that they were all meant to be together, that they needed each other, because these people were the only people she really had.

Everyone was introducing themselves, and the few that she wasn't completely sure about soon clicked into place. It all made sense, seeing everyone in person. Maybe they weren't exactly who they were online, but then again, was anyone? Cosy definitely wasn't, and she could only hope that as time ticked by they either wouldn't realize or wouldn't care.

The sound of her name whipped her head around and she smirked at Milo. Milo. The name felt so foreign as she mulled it over mentally, like she had just learned some secret that she was never supposed to know. To her, he'd always just been imperialserpent666, and anything else just felt... off. She shook away the feeling, grinning and sticking her tongue out mockingly. "Sure am, walking snack machine." Seriously, how did he get so much food? First the pretzels, then the mention of jello — of course, Cosy had heard rumours whispered under breaths as she passed by, but she wouldn't settle with them as an answer until she knew they were true.

She hadn't realized that one of them was missing until tchoi_freckle — Teo — spoke up. As her eyes flitted around the circle, she realized that there was someone missing. In.a.flash, perhaps the quietest one of the lot, was completely absent from their little rendezvous. She straightened her posture, peering against the harsh morning sunlight as a figure appeared on the horizon, slowly making its way towards the group. Immediately, her heart leaped, eager to finally know the identity of the final member.

A grin spread uncontrollably across her face as he approached them an introduced himself. A warm feeling bloomed in her chest, but not happiness. Her grin quieted at the realization, and suddenly she remembered why they were all there. They were in a mental hospital, all because something they had done rendered them a danger to others or themselves. Despite the grim morbitidity of the knowledge, it sparked an insatiable curiosity in Cosy. Of course, she wouldn't just ask blatantly why they were all there. All she hoped was that eventually, she'd get the privilege of knowing.

Cosy's attention was once again drawn away from her thoughts when Alex mentioned her, and the grin returned at her words, although smaller. She wondered if it felt as odd for her to use her real name as it did for Cosy; after all, they had all grown to know each other as their pseudonyms and nothing more. Of course, they knew who they were as people, but they had just skipped over the name part. As Alex continued, the grin once again fell from her face, a shadow passing over her eyes. Whenever she heard someone reference it, "happiness", it made her wistful, longing for the days she was far too young to remember. She too had once known it, cradled its beauty in her hands, but it had flown away long ago and Cosy knew with an unshakable certainty that she would probably never get it back.

But if there was one thing she was as close to happy as she could be about, it was the meeting. Oh, and her release.

She chuckled softly, turning to Ellis and brushing her hair back from her ears. "Me too, actually. I have the 11th, I think." Clearing her throat, she looked back up at each of them in turn, meeting their eyes with a wan smile. "You guys better not leave me here all by my little poor self."

Milo couldn't help his lips pulling up into a grin as everyone continued to speak. It was strange to put a face to their usernames but it was refreshing to know that these people actually existed. Each and every one of them were special to him in their own ways and for that Milo was extremely thankful. However, he was even more thankful to have even been apart of the group at all.

It wasn't a surprise that people knew him because of his reputation in the hospital. Milo was the hospital slut. He wasn't ashamed of it but he knew that people who hung around him might be. What you see is what you get was something that Milo had always said and he wasn't about to stop his motto now.

Ricky and Teo were both going to need a confident man in their lives. Especially since he could already see that the two had never had any type of real interaction with a lady. Milo was ready to fill those shoes and be the leader of the little boy band. Alex, El, and Cosy being the groupies this was going to be an amazing ride.

The ride ended quickly as discharge dates were being thrown around. Ah, crap. Milo's smile faltered slightly as he tried to comfortable place his arms over his chest so he wouldn't start to fidget. He knew he had been in the hospital the longest and he had no doubt that he wasn't leaving anytime in the near or far future. He was deemed crazy and while that may be true it wasn't who he was.

"We won't leave you Cosy.", his words came out softer than he intended but he quickly turned his gaze to the other three who hadn't shared their dates yet. Milo figured if he jumped around to everyone else no one would ask when his date was. "What about you three? When is the lucky day?" His dark gaze turned to Alex, Ricky, and Teo as his right eyebrow raised slightly as he questioned the gang.

As a new figure approached the group, Teo’s attention was drawn towards the boy who gave an awkward greeting. Thank God for Darth who was able to confirm the boy’s identity. Ricky. Well, that was unexpected to Teo for some odd reason. Well hell, he was glad that Darth was another confident soul who was able to recap everything to Ricky. A warm smile fell upon Teo’s face and his eyes sparkled with joy as he looked around the group. He had to agree with Alex; he was glad that they decided to do it too.

However, the sudden nudge to his hand startled him as his gaze quickly moved from the group to the person who had nudged him. Quickly, his stunned expression turned to a smiling one. At first, he thought he was going to get scolded – told off even – for touching the grass the way he did. The anxiety had begun to rise in his chest at the thought of it. Well, he had been told off by his father for less stupid reasons. And commonly, it would lead up with a couple of bruises. So it was safe to say that it got his heart racing as those memories flashed before him. However, once he realised that she had meant it in good nature, he had to remind himself to show off that sunshine smile he was well known for.

At Ellis’ prompting, the group began to slowly go around and one by one discussed their discharge dates. As Cosy and Ellis announced that their release date wasn’t until the first week of January, Teo felt a little bit of guilt. After all… he was only meant to be in here for three weeks. That’s what the program said after all. He had been here for almost two weeks now, meaning that next week would be his last. Such a shame considering he had only just begun this lovely friendship with these people and he was probably going to have to say goodbye to it all.

You know what was the craziest thing was though? Even though they were all in a mental hospital, Teo didn’t think these people were crazy at all. In fact, he thought they were probably some of the sanest people he had ever met in his life. So, to hear that they were stuck in here like prisoners… It made his heart sore.

As Milo spoke, Teo gazed over at the male before his eyebrows rose. Oh… When was his lucky day? He felt somewhat guilty that he had much less time than everyone else… But, at the same time, he didn’t want to lie to them. His fingers which had been pulling the grass was now playing with the fabric of his pants as he processed his thoughts. “I’m uh… I’m here for an inpatient program.” he began to explain “So… it’s a three-week program. Two weeks worth of one on one therapy and then the final week focuses on family therapy. So… Once my Dad rocks up for his meeting with my therapist and I… I’m outta here.”

He pressed his lips tightly together, looking around the group with a small shrug. “Sorry guys,” he apologised “Would’ve been great to be able to hang with you guys for longer…?”

Now, who in their right mind would want to stay in a mental hospital for longer just to hang with people? Teo Choi, that’s who.

Ricky watched the redhead — Alex — as she introduced everyone for him in a quick recap. Some of them he'd had some pretty good guesses for, but most came as a surprise, as he imagined it came as a surprise to the others that he was... who he was. Or maybe that was the anxiety still eating away at him. Regardless, now that he'd sat down and the introductions were quickly out of the way, he felt a little bit better. Nobody had shown any negative reactions to his attempt at humour, and they all seemed to have smiles on his faces. This was a good start.

Yeah, till you screw it up.

Ricky did his best to tune out his own voice in his head. He couldn't afford to screw this up. He'd done that far too many times in the past, and while he hadn't wanted to come here in the first place, he was trying to behave for the sake of his dad. This was his second chance, to show his dad that he was okay, and to prove to himself that he didn't always mess things up. If this didn't work out either...

Ricky was jerked from his downward spiral of thoughts when one of them — Ellis — mentioned discharge dates. It seemed most of them were off in January. Well, except Teo, who would probably be leaving next week if he heard that correctly?

As sad as Ricky was to be losing one friend after having barely gotten to know him, he saw this as a good thing. "Well, that's good though, right?" He perked up, feeling his heart pound just because speaking somehow drew attention to him. He glanced between the others with a little uncertainty before continuing. "I'm in January too and it feels like it's too far away." Ricky wanted to get out of here now, but his dad knew what he might do if he was let out so soon, and honestly, Ricky knew it himself too. His dad was smart for wanting to put him there.

Ricky got the sense that Teo wasn't all that fond of leaving so soon though, and while it struck him as absolutely wild, he did try to look on the brighter side. "Well, at least we've all got another week or so to get properly acquainted offline before you have to leave, right?" Feeling more comfortable around them all now, Ricky allowed himself a small, somewhat encouraging smile.

Ricky then looked to Alex who seemed to be the only other person who had yet to reveal her discharge dates. She was fiddling with the little tubes that went in her nose, as if trying to adjust them. "TBD," she announced, though she had a smile on her face as she said it, almost like she was trying to reassure them that this was okay.

Ricky was waiting for some kind of elaboration, but it didn't come. As curious as he was, Ricky sure as hell wasn't going to be the nosy soul to prod further about what she meant.

Milo was the next to speak up, though he didn't answer the question. He just passed it off to the others who hadn't answered. The lack of a statement told her everything she needed to know. Coupled with his changed body langue Ellis could tell she struck a nerve with him. He wasn't getting out. Was he upset about that? It seemed like it. Ellis wanted to do anything to stay. She was almost desperate to never leave this place.

Teo then said he only had a week. Not knowing him well enough, she could tell he wasn't happy about it but she didn't know why. Was he like her and felt safe? Or was it something else? The mention of his father was interesting. If he was receiving family counselling there was obviously an issue with his home life. She had noticed the way he flinched when Alex had scolded him. It was a reaction she knew well. No matter how long it had been since her own father had died, she still was afraid of him. Ellis still heard his booming voice and the sting of his hand. Maybe she was jumping to conclusions and his dad was a lovely person. Though, her better judgement told her otherwise.

Ricky tried to comfort Teo about his release date. Ellis watched him faulter when talking about his own date. He seemed upset about it as well. Then Alex commented that she more or less didn't have a date. The tone in her voice also suggested she was less than pleased. Okay. It seemed Ellis had made things awkward and sad. That was not surprise. She was dang good at it. That was probably why she didn't have any real friends. Ellis made them as incredibly depressed as she was. It was just her personality. Depression sometimes seemed like her only trait. And maybe it was the fact that these past two weeks have thrown her into the deep abyss again, or the fact that she already felt that she would be incomplete without these humans, she didn't want to live out there. She didn't want to live at all. Not without them. She finally had people. Ellis finally had living things who she could be close to. She wondered if they felt the same way. The sudden thought popped into her head, and before she could hold onto the incredibly dark thought that she came up with, it slipped right out, "We wouldn't leave each other if we took it into our own hands. We could all make a suicide pact, because I already don't want to go on to the world outside, especially not without you all. How about on New Year's? Seems fitting to move on at the end of the year." When Ellis spoke out, she wondered if she should take it back. Well, she couldn't undo it. And maybe they'd all agree to end their suffering together. I kinda sounded romantic in a way. Like the end to modern day tragedy.

Go figure the first time in forever he finally got a group of friends and they were all on their way out of the shit hole. It was poetic almost...but Milo hated Shakespeare because well fuck that guy.The brunette sighed softly at Teo's exclamation of his glorious three-week program. What he would give to have only been in this place for that small amount of time but lucky for him he seemed to be a long-term resident. Karma was indeed a bitch my friends.

Milo couldn't help the feelings that had started to bubble up in his chest as Teo continued to explain how his dad would show up for the family session and then he would be out of there. It must have been nice to have family coming into the hospital to see you. He couldn't remember the last time he had a visitor besides his ex-girlfriend who had come the very first week he had been placed into the hospital. Needless to say, she never returned after that one visit. That was completely okay though because she was insane.

Ricky was next to speak up, his discharge date was further than Teo's but still pretty attainable. The more they spoke the worse the feeling continued to swirl in his chest, his dark eyes fixated on the ground as he tried to calm himself. He was going to die in this fucking place. Hearing the group speak upon their discharges only made it clear that he had never even gotten anything close to a date. The more he had asked the more positive he was about not leaving. Milo peered up finally from the grass, his eyes gazing at the group for a moment before he let the corners of his lips rise. It was better him than any of them. He had a tough exterior and interior, he wasn't so sure about the rest of them. The longer they stayed in this place the worse it fucked with their mental health.

His eyebrows rose slightly as Alex chimed in next, saying a simple statement but a powerful one. She seemed to want to squash the whole conversation altogether but it was lighthearted in a way that made Milo feel at ease. Ellis' voice rang through next and her statement caused Milo to blink rapidly as if she had lost her mind. Had she just suggested they all kill themselves together? Dark eyes travelled to the rest of the group in a desperate search to see if they had heard what she said correctly. Ellis was insane and yet Milo knew he was already onboard. He had nothing else to lose. Literally.

"I'm down babe.", his tone was confident as he grinned madly at the dark haired girl beside him, "I'd love nothing more than to die next to you." Was this the most insane thing that he had ever agreed to? Absolutely not and honestly it probably wouldn't be the last. Suicide pacts never actually happened unless everyone in the group was insane. It was going to be fun to see how crazy the others were. Would they actually end their lives together? Milo was going to be there to find out.
