I know you're guilty of this too.

Roleplay Availability

Here's a light-hearted discussion topic for today - how many of you are sitting on a stash of abandoned and semi-forgotten RP ideas right now? What's that idea hoard looking like right now?

I know I'm not the only one who does this. ;3 I'll come up with an idea for a story, jot it down somewhere, and then totally forget about it or just never follow up on it. Example (one I don't mind sharing, because it's so damn vague) - "magical girls with giant robots". It had been sitting in a dump folder on my laptop for at least six months, and I probably won't touch it until I like.. watch Star Driver again or something.

Sometimes I'll be halfway through setting up the roleplay and then just let it sit in a word doc for months or even years. I did that with Royal Witches, actually, and I've got like two more roleplays posted in the Private Workshop forum just waiting for the day I pull them out. Some of you must be guilty of that too, yeah?

Come, my friends, my children, my fellow roleplayers. Let us commiserate over the skeletons in our writing closet.

Oh fuck... I have too many to keep count of.

I've got a magical girl/boy RP idea sitting, been sitting on it for a few years. I've never went through with it though because I can never get the fine details right on it.

A Sci-fi Space Fantasy, with knights, aliens, wizards, space ships, wormholes. A whole mash of two genres to create something beautiful. I've only ever had the concept written, never fleshed it out further.

Likewise, a Western RP on another planet, only ever gotten the concept down.

An RP called Raiders, set in the Post Apocalypse and based around a band of survivors doing what they can to well, not die.

NeuroDivers, A Matrix styled near future Virtual Reality RP, where detectives solve crimes of the mind, as an injury to the mind creates real life wounds. They stop murders, memory thefts, literal identity thefts, as well as corporate espionages.

A Fantasy RP where magic is not a thing. Dragons and the likes? yes. Wizards? No.

A Fantasy Guild RP, set in a "Post Apocalyptic" world thousands of years after the fall of Humanities golden age. A quasi-Medieval setting, where surviving advanced technological artefacts of the golden age are a replacement for the usual Fantasy magic.

I could go on... I have literally got dozens of these.

It's always the same thing though, I'll be working on one RP idea and I'll spawn another one, which I don't have time to work through, so it waits, and inevitably never sees the light of day again... The other one is where you get so far in making them and then do something else for a bit, and when you go back to the RP you've lost track of your ideas... and it ends up stalled.

Technically not really dead but more kind of like, Hmph lets see..Imagine your a Child, who is four and wants to build a massive, Intricate and complicated thing that'll probably take as long as it takes for you to reach the age of 16. So instead, You just decide to put that thing in the closet and work on it time to time when you actually get inspiration for it. That's kinda what I have with this certain idea.

My idea and still technically is, Was a Homestuck Rp which if you or anyone else has read should know that it's fairly complicated. So you'd need a lot of ambition to even do it. Oh and rewriting all the Homestuck history and stuff so people can use OC'S and stuff is also fairly difficult. Soo, I don't expect it to even be thought of as a regular Rp idea for quite a fair bit....

Oh quite a while ago when I was a wee lil Walrus Pup, I had this idea for a Nation building thing but unlike most which were just set on Political Intrigues, Wars and random occurrences in a fantasy world It was to be set in a Vast galaxy with a Sci-Fi feel that also had a touch of Mass effect in it, by that I mean a massive all consuming enemy invades said Galaxy and pretty much throws the Order into a blender and throws it against a tree like a Melon. It would have been a vverrrrryyyy Long term rp and I planned on being Super strict on what's acceptable and all, seeing as I planned on giving players freedom to create their own Civilizations and such. Said Idea sits in a folder on my Desktop, collecting dust. Some day I might even launch it on here but for now, I'll let it sit on the shelf til the time is right.

I actually have an entire folder on my google docs with supplemental documents and old roleplay ideas. I have an entire notebook with old plots too.

Some I might redo - others not so much.

But yeah I have a habit of keeping ideas for a long time.

Myself...

That one mystery roleplay that never got off the ground, mostly because some of the more supernatural research gave me ugly nightmares. (Never, ever take me out to a horror movie. Please. I beg of you.)

Asylum. That is, its literal meaning - a safe place. Basically a society in which 'natural safety' is valued above all else.

Going back to primal life... kind of.

I have pages and pages of notes on that. We're looking at a full notebook. Will it ever happen? ...maybe?

A random, harsh mix of the realistic/LOTR fantasy world.

A.... lot of other things.

Too many to count, to be honest.

Still haven't managed to get one up, is the thing. xD

Oh boy...

Well, I just went through a folder and the private workshop, and there's a few.

"DΣCϴDΣ [hibakusha]" is an idea I haven't worked on in forever, but it's there. It's basically kind of like a goo-people/mutants + matrix fusion. However, I just can't, for the life of me, either describe everything so it comes across right, nor can I find proper reference pictures (holy shit @ over-sexualized fetishes on google pics) But... I still kinda wanna do it.

Then there's "ᵉᵐᵖᵗʸSOULS ᵉᵐᵖᵗʸHOMES" which is essentially a migration roleplay. A few creatures cross barren lands and snowy montains. The plot would not really tell much, but it'd have a lot of events and stuff like that. Think of it as Shadow Of The Collosus meets Lost Planet. I think this would work out well, but I'm not trusting myself at providing a good experience with this in particular. ./

I started an interest check for "Please don't forget our dreamhouse" but the responses weren't that great, and I felt like it'd probably attract too many angsty-teen stereotypes, which kind of turned me off the idea. I'd love to do it with a good group of people but... yeah. Interest lacked anyways.

And lastly, and this one is the one that really makes me frustrated sometimes, is T Ĥ Λ Ŀ Λ Ƨ Ƨ Λ which I'm semi-convinced will kill me someday. A futuristic roleplay blending cyberpunk, science-fiction and, kind of, philosphical themes. This is by far the one I wanna do the most. I code, make graphics and write things up for it almost everyday but I am intimidated as FUDGE to actually pull through with it. Also, I'm kind of scared people will hate it, 'cause this is actually based on a book I wrote (and never published... yet.) and I'd like people to, well, like it. xD

Your responses are giving me life, guys. I'm so glad I'm not alone here. Sounds like I need to go snooping through the Workshop more often. :P

You do, 'cause I still didn't get that sheet fixed D: (^U^)

Oh I also had two idea's that are actually quite well finalized but the problem is that they've already been used....verrryy recently actually.

One is a Mercenary Group like Rp that starts in the Mass effect franchise whilst the Other is well...A formed group that operates in the Certain magical index / Scientific Railgun Universe.

My idea is also annoyingly similar to both of the ones already started and seeing as I joined quite recently compared to the authors of these Rp's, I'd really rather not be dubbed an Idea thief or anything of the sort so soon. If their Rp's end up being deceased or a large amount of time has passed, I may launch the two so It doesn't seem like I'm completely ripping someone off.

Though the extra time does allow me to finalize things and maybe think of possible additions / Plot Idea's for said Rp..So It does have it's own advantages..

Recent RP i want to establish is a Warfare, Campaign RP where one Kingdom will advance to one and after another Kingdom, liberating them from the grasp of the Empire that wants to fully dominated while seeking the true reason behind the invasion.
