James grunted lowly under his breath as he loaded the tools onto the back of his beat up ford, the thing was practically falling to pieces at this rate and was mostly held together with dreams and prayers; He let loose a sigh as he closed the tailgate and headed inside for some warmer weather.
The routine snow had gotten rather old already as the cold months rolled in and only seemed to make his mood worse with each day that damnable weather didn't change.
"-nd In other news, our Illustrious mayor Conningwell had this to say to the heated debates over the lease agreements given to the Research I-"
He blearily walked into the cramped farm house, as he rooted around in one of the cabinet drawers looking for the damned key to the shed; With a small 'aha' he succeeded in his little hunt and rounded back out into the weather with a small run to the shed to try and limit as much exposure as he could possibly hope to.
He shoved the key into the lock of the shed and was met with resistance causing him to groan loudly as he shoved into the rusted door and forced his way in allowing him to finally look around the small shack, quickly his eyes fall onto the tool he'd been looking for.
The trusty shovel of his was about as old as he was, hell he remembered when his Pa' made the damn thing- well rather made James learn how to make it himself.
He let out a low chuckle as the lights of the shed flickered over head causing him to turn his head towards it with a questioning look.
'Power on the fritz again? Those Dexter boys said they'd fixed the line last time.' With a shake of his head he cleared his thoughts, needed to focus on one thing at a time; He made his way back into the snow and over to the truck with a quick gait- tossing the raggedy shovel into the bed as he hopped quickly into the cab that'd been heating up the entire time.
"-his is Tom! From 108.5 The Knox Kicker! Your home for classic country music and I'm your host Tom Wheeler!- We'll let you folks get right to the music soon enough but first things first- everyone looking forward to the Louisville Christmas parade later today? I know I am!" a low chuckle escapes from the beat radio in the cab as the Excitable radio host continues yammering "In other news the weather is awful with a chance of absolutely shit but you knew that!" a really shitty Sitcom laughter is played.
James shakes his head fondly as he pulls out into the gravel drive of the little homestead, pulling the beat up ford down into the forested road as he starts to speed down the dirt trails.
"-Oh and for the folks around Muldraugh keep an eye out for an wild dogs, been getting reports since late last night about attacks happening around the area and for the Listeners in Fort Knox we've got talks about some sort of flu passing around down there, you becareful now- don't need our soldiers getting sick ya hear?"
'Shit, probably should keep avoiding Mr. Danvers for now then- he's been bothering me about that firewood down in the fort for weeks now.' he thought with a small smile as his mind drifted trying to think of the entire Agenda he'd needed to get done for the day.
'Hit up Mike, see if anything's needed at the mill today I suppose, if not try and go Christmas shopping for Amanda and Annette...' he frowns softly as his thoughts trail towards his young daughters, he hoped they'd be enjoying the parade later tonight but due to the... circumstances with their mother at the moment he wasn't really certain.
Maybe... He should head to Louisville tonight, just for the show of course.
He groaned out loud as he facepalmed before quickly getting his hand back on the wheel as he tried once again in vain to focus.
