It has been over 300 years since Link and Midna had successfully managed to slay Ganondorf and reclaim the Twilight Throne for its rightful ruler. Peace and prosperity reigned throughout all of Hyrule.

For a time.

Crime and monster attacks have grown like never before. People are starting to lose faith in the Hyrule Family's ability to lead. The Kingdom is teetering ever closer to collapse.

Our adventure starts in Lanayru Village, a small village off the coast of Lake Hylia in peaceful trading relations with Zora's domain a few miles north of it.

So, should we coordinate what we want to play as a little bit? I'm thinking Gerudo. Probably either Magi or Bloodrager (if allowed, I was going the whole warrior-sorcerer with that). Also maybe a Hylian, not sure as far as class goes, but have a starting concept for that as well.

Gerudo Magi would be perfectly fine.

I love it! Oh and, Gerudo don't have to be evil if you don't want to be (though you can be).

Speaking of the Gerudo: I'm trying to think of how to justify their survival given Ganon's Demise (pun intended)-I'm thinking a certain level of interbreeding with other races has been happening and they've also gotten themselves a new king at this point? Or maybe some way of asexual reproduction via magic?

Canon-wise, they do survive a long ways after Twilight Princess, given that timeline has a game containing Gerudo faaaar after TP. I guess they were just super far off into the desert and never came across them.

Also, the Gerudo probably have gone through about 3 kings since the end of TP. Every 100 years or so one is born. Maybe we should hammer out Gerudo politics as of late? Would help me with backstory stuff as I work on my sheet.

The current leader of the Gerudo I'm thinking will be mostly well-meaning, but perhaps a bit ineffectual or cowardly. They're trying to forge a Hyrule-Gerudo alliance and are seen as kind of a suck-up.

@Erasmus Want masks that change a creature's race per chance? If you're still interested in playing a Happy Mask Salesman-type character, that is.

Hm, trying to decide if I should make my character a pure gunslinger or a gunslinger inquisitor. What do you guys think?
Perhaps I could be an alchemist, too.

Basic gist of my character idea is that he's a scholarly character who built firearms, basically, as part of an engineering experiment.

Alchemist would also be appropriate given that, in real life, gunpowder was invented by alchemists.

As for playing link or zelda... perhaps that should be an npc thing? or perhaps something more esoteric. it'd be kinda signalling out to select people in the group, forcing others to become secondary characters if you get me. I don't know about you, but I heavily dislike being pushed to the sidelines just because mr.Bighero needs to save the day.

trust me, yea don't want to be running a skeleton crew people folks dropped out due to the story not involving them at all, just a fair warning there.

BTW: Since this is Zelda, we have to use Rupees!

We could either:
Have 1 CP = 1 Green Rupee

or:
Have 1 GP = 1 Green Rupee.

What say you?

Edit:
Second thought, things less then gold is why we should use 1 green for 1 copper.

Blue for silver.

Red for gold?

Silver for platinum.

I'm thinking green might be silver and we'll just skip copper. The buying power of copper in this setting is very, very low.

As a note, if ya'll want to be good ol' travelling buddies with the ranger that's cool, speak up though.

Might make it easier to do yer backstory or atleast explain why yer around.

Really? Seems we'll have two fish out of water then. Not that her folk have much in the way of fish aye?

...I need to cook up good fish/fishing puns for Lamedon now, groan worthy stuff.

But that will be an interesting character, think you have liberties to make up small cultural things as you go? That's half the fun of playing a foreigner in a new country :^P
