Iroh, named after the esteemed General Iroh of the Fire Nation and the more recently known General Iroh of the Allied Forces, was born to one Reverent Země an underground earth-bending fighter who was well known for spending his winnings on drinks instead of focusing on his family or training, and another Nagasaki Země a dustbender known only for being the mother of the weakest child in town, she had died when Iroh was six by suicide, she had long been planning it, just didn't have the guts to do so, so on one beautiful evening, she took one last look at the sunset and hung herself.

During Irohs life he suffered nothing but pain and heartache from the time of his birth to now, and even worse, he didn't even know that he was the avatar until the age of eighteen. Iroh had learned about the avatar his entire life, he learned that it had been over ninety years since the last avatar had died, and that it was thought there would never be another one, but that all changed after Iroh learned wood bending. Nobody knew what to do about it, A wood bender? That had never been heard of. But that didn't change the fact that it was real.

When the outbreak began Iroh hit his prime, it was the world that he was fit to live in most. He easily survived, going from town to town staying no-more that three weeks at a time.
