Sorrow, Envy, Hatred, and Despair, all of which are negative emotions that have existed since the beginning of mankind. With the existence of negative emotions throughout the world, the creation of Wraiths began to appear around the same time as humankind. While invisible to the human eye and docile while they wander through public beside ordinary humans, they follow closely behind those who have strong negative emotions and feed off of their energy. If left unchecked, these Wraiths become more and more powerful over time and eventually wreak havoc if they are not stopped. Luckily though, throughout history there have been warriors of light that fight to protect humans from these Wraiths, these warriors are called 'Magical Girls/Boys'. Individually selected by a Goddess of Light known as Aurora, she watches over the world as both a concept of Light as well as a Goddess, while no human knows of her existence nor her name, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 whose hearts are completely pure and show potential of protecting the world, Aurora visits them in their dreams and offers them an exchange, she will grant them any wish they want and in return they would become Magical Girls/Boys to help protect the world.
Centuries passed and with the passing of Magical Girls/Boys of one generation after another, eventually, one girl was selected that would change the entire reality of the world as even Aurora knew it. A girl named Nix was yet another girl who was chosen to be a candidate to become a Magical Girl, although, unlike many of her predecessors, Nix appeared to have amazing talent in both combat and her job in general as a Magical Girl. Her talent was so impressive that as time went on, she began to thirst for more power even though her Soul Gem slowly began to turn from its colorful hue to a completely black and distorted appearance. When her Soul Gem had been completely turned black due to her negative emotions of obsession taking over her, she suffered through agonizing pain, confused and writhing in pain, even when she called for help, none came. However, rather than becoming a monster or perishing, due to her immense magical power and talent, she was able to overcome the corruption causing her to ascend to Godhood, and the creation of the first Curse Gem was created.
Believing she was betrayed by Aurora, she swore vengeance against the Goddess and began to plot against her. As time passed, each time a rare case of a Magical Girl/Boy had fallen into corruption due to their own negative emotions growing out of control, Nix would come to them and give them a second chance at life. Asking for their loyalty, if they were to agree, she would turn them into Witches/Warlocks. Similarly to Aurora though, teenagers of the same age group who suffer from severe negative emotions tend to have two different fates, either a Witch/Warlock is sent to them and they are consumed by their own intense negative emotions and are turned into monstrous creatures known as Nightmares that wreak havoc on the world and are even capable of being seen by humans, or if the teenager shows potential to Nix, she will visit them in their slumber to offer them the same exchange as Aurora does but instead of becoming a Magical Girl/Boy, they become Witches/Warlocks.
The job of a Witch/Warlock to go out into the world and hunt down Magical Girls/Boys, whether it was to kill them or to corrupt them to the point that they would fall into despair where Nix could give them a chance to join and become a Witch/Warlock as well. Aside from that, they were sent out into the world to find humans who suffer from severe negative emotional strains, and depending on whether or not they show potential to becoming a Witch/Warlock, they would either be turned into a Nightmare or they would be encouraged to fall further into their negative emotions so that eventually Nix would visit them in their slumber. While the Witches/Warlocks believe that they are doing the work of Nix and that one day they will be rewarded once their Goddess has taken her revenge on Aurora, what they fail to understand is that even as a Goddess, her search for greater power has never faltered. Unaware of their fate, Nix to this day continues to plot against her own subordinates til she achieves her true ambitions.

So, after recently watching Madoka Magica, I have thought about making myself a Magical Girl/Boy roleplay. This roleplay will only be inspired by the show with some ideas here and there from the show but there will not be any canon characters in the roleplay itself.Character Sheets
