𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐬
Magical Girls and Boys are human teenagers who are all between the ages of 13 to 17. Before becoming a Magical Girl or Boy, Aurora; the Goddess that watches over the realm watches over all humans and when she finds a teenager who is pure of heart, she will visit them in one of their dreams. When Aurora visits them she explains who she is and the role she plays. From there she offers the teenager an opportunity to become a Magical Girl or Boy and what the job entails, although before she could be questioned or the offer is denied, she offers an exchange for taking up such a high responsibility. If the teenager were to take the job and become a Magical Girl or Boy, Aurora would grant them any wish that they desire no matter how unrealistic it may be.

If the teenager feels as though they are not ready to answer or do not know what their wish might be, they will be told that when they are ready to make a wish or decide to become a Magical Girl or Boy, they simply will need to whisper into the 'Soul Gem. Eventually, they will wake up with an empty Soul Gem in the shape of an eggshell in their hands as a sign that the dream was not just a dream.
Once ready, when the teenager whispers the wish and calls out to Aurora's name, the individual will be wrapped into a bright white light where they are greeted once more by Aurora face-to-face. This time she will grant the wish in front of them before reaching into their heart and removing their soul directly from their body, she would then proceed to infuse the Soul Gem with the soul of the individual.

From there, the newly formed Magical Girl or Boy would burst from the bright light similar to that of an egg in their new attire, weapon, and abilities. While they will have access to all their abilities and even combat training to a degree, they must train themselves mentally overtime to become stronger and better at movements and fighting before they can be considered proper Magical Girls or Boys to fight amongst their comrades which many are veterans.
𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬
The complete opposites of Magical Girls/Boys. Many Witches/Warlocks were all once Magical Girls/Boys whose hearts had been consumed in so much negative emotion and energy that right before they're turned into Nightmares, they're greeted by the dark Goddess; Nix. Only specific Magical Girls/Boys are selected by the dark Goddess if she sees the individual as someone who shows potential to be of use to her, she will greet them during their last moments before becoming Nightmares and extend a hand of helping to them. Once the individual takes the hand of the dark Goddess she will proceed to warp and distort the Magical Girl/Boy's Soul Gem til it becomes a Curse Gem, of which will end up coming out from the newly created Witch/Warlock's mouth.

The purpose of a Witch/Warlock is also similarly opposite to that of a Magical Girl/Boy, instead of protecting the innocent, they insist on pushing individuals with negative emotions further towards their breaking point. Whether they do this by speaking with them in their humanoid forms and encouraging their negative feelings or tricking them in other means somehow. Once a human has reached their breaking point, it is the decision of both the dark Goddess and the Witch/Warlock to decide whether or not the human deserves to have a chance to be turned into a Witch/Warlock or they will be consumed into their own negative energy and become monstrous Nightmares.

Because many Witches/Warlocks were once Magical Girls/Boys, once a Nightmare is created they are expected to stay in the area while the creature wreaks havoc due to knowing that soon enough the Magical Girls/Boys will arrive. Once they do, it is the secondary job of a Witch/Warlock to attack and defeat Magical Girls/Boys, whether they decide to kill them or not is their own decision in the end.

Over time as a Witch/Warlock continues with their lives and after creating enough Nightmares or attacking and/or defeating other Magical Girls/Boys, they will begin to eventually grow animalistic traits of their own. Whether they are animal ears/tails/horns/etc. this is a sign of how their heart continues to grow more corrupt over time and their chance of purity or redemption fades. As time goes on and the Witch/Warlock continues their rampage, they will grow more animalistic in appearance, and eventually once they become fully animalistic in look, they will be beyond saving.
𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬/𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐬: 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚
Otherwise known as the Goddess of Light, Aurora has existed since the beginning of mankind, however, unlike her counterpart, Nix, she was never a Magical Girl at any point. Unknown by name and existence by mankind, Aurora is considered a concept of the wider universe, a being that exists but is never thought of to exist. Since the beginning of mankind, there have always been Wraiths that wandered the world and because she has no actual physical form to be seen, she has had Magical Girls/Boys do her divine work for her by defeating Wraiths and keeping the world safe. Before the incident with Nix, every time whenever Magical Girl had perished during combat, it was said that their Soul Gem would shatter and Aurora would come down to help pass on the soul of the Magical Girl/Boy to the next world.
𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬/𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬: 𝐍𝐢𝐱
Otherwise known as the Goddess of Darkness, unlike her opposite, Aurora, Nix has not always existed. Centuries ago, Nix was a Magical Girl and a powerful one at that. Even when she first took up the job to become a Magical Girl, she possessed strength, and magical prowess that far surpassed all other Magical Girls/Boys at the time. Unfortunately though, because of her immense power, she was easily able to defeat any and all Wraiths without problem causing her to want some form of challenge to test her might eventually. Her desire for a challenge soon developed to the point that she lusted for power. With the obsession for power, slowly her heart began to be consumed in her own dark emotions til her Soul Gem was the first one to ever become corrupted.

Once her Soul Gem was completely enveloped in corruption, she began to suffer in agony while pleading her help. With no help coming to her and her suffering continuing, rather than becoming the first ever Nightmare, her immense magical prowess ended up causing her to accept the darkness and corruption til she ended up becoming a Goddess just like Aurora had become. Filled with hatred and an endless grudge against Aurora for not protecting her, she began to plot a way for her to get back at the Goddess eventually. Since then, she had begun to visit humans with their severe negative emotions as well as approaching Magical Girls/Boys who were reaching the breaking point of their Soul Gems becoming corrupted. Turning them into Witches/Warlocks to fight for her and do her bidding, Nix has been the reasoning as to how Nightmares have existed to this day.

While her Witches/Warlocks continue to trust her, she plots in secret against even them to use their power to feed her endless lust and desire for more power to one day defeat/destroy Aurora.
𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐬
As the name states, a Soul Gem houses the soul of a Magical Girl/Boy. When a teenager is first greeted by Aurora in their dreams and they are not ready to decide as to whether or not they want to become a Magical Girl, they are given an empty Soul Gem. When they have decided on the wish they want to make they simply must whisper into the gem their wish and call out to Aurora for the process to begin. Once the Goddess arrives and the individual is wrapped in a bright light, she will proceed to remove the soul of the individual before inserting it into the gem. Every Magical Girl/Boy's soul is a different color making them unique to each person. Upon becoming a Magical Girl/Boy aside from obtaining a Soul Gem, they will also receive a silver ring that is connected to the Gem allowing them to summon the gem into their hands or to de-summon it. When in their Magical Girl/Boy form they will also have a gem somewhere on their body that can be easily seen at all times, this gem is connected to that of the Soul Gem itself and if it were to be shattered then the Soul Gem itself would be shattered as well.

Because the Soul Gem houses the very essence of the Magical Girl/Boy, the gem itself must be close to its original host at all times. The furthest away the host's body can be away from the gem is approximately 100 meters. Beyond that point, the hosts' bodies will end up going limp, similar to that of corpses.
Aside from the purpose of holding a Magical Girl/Boy's soul inside of it, the secondary purpose of a Soul Gem is that it is also used as a form of detector, when searching for Nightmares/Witches/Warlocks or even those with hearts that are becoming severely corrupted overtime, the Soul Gem will begin to pulse and glow brighter and brighter the closer one approaches any of those listed. Witches and Warlocks can only be detected if they have transformed into their Witch/Warlock form.

As time goes on, if for any reason a Magical Girl/Boy starts to become slowly corrupted due to their own negative emotions and/or negative energy because of whatever may happen in their lives. The more the negative energy builds up inside of them and the more they use their own magical power for selfish reasons, their Soul Gem will begin to slowly turn black over time. Eventually, once the entirety of their soul within their gem turns black they will suffer agonizing amounts of pain, from there, one of two things may happen, either the dark Goddess will visit them to offer them a chance to become a Witch/Warlock or they will morph into a Nightmare where it will be the job of a fellow Magical Girl/Boy to defeat them and purify their corrupted soul.
𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐬
Similar to that of a Magical Girl/Boy, Witches/Warlocks have their own form of Soul Gems as well. However, rather than being considered a Soul Gem, these are called Cursed Gems. The only way to obtain one is for a Magical Girl/Boy to be greeted by the dark Goddess in their last moments before becoming a Nightmare or for a human who suffers through severe dark emotions and negative energy enough that the dark Goddess would come to them and offer them the exchange to become a Witch/Warlock similarly to how Aurora creates a Magical Girl/Boy.

Aside from the difference in look, the Curse Gem works similarly to how a Soul Gem functions but in the opposite way. Rather than pulsing and glowing when near a Nightmare or person of highly negative emotion or energy, instead it glows and pulses when they are near a Magical Girl/Boy that has transformed and/or when near a person that has a highly pure heart that has not been turned into a Magical Girl/Boy as of yet.

With a Cursed Gem, Witches/Warlocks are no longer able to purify the souls of other Magical Girls/Boys when they are corrupted but instead they have the ability to turn humans and Magical Girls/Boys into Nightmares when their souls are far too consumed into negative emotions and energy. When a Cursed Gem is first created, the color of the soul will return to normal while it is caged within a black case, as the Witch/Warlock continues to use their power and defeats Magical Girls/Boys as well as creating Nightmares, slowly their soul will be consumed in further darkness yet again, as their Cursed Gem becomes more dark the Witch/Warlock will grow more and more animalistic traits until their soul is completely black, once that occurs, the Witch/Warlock will have the full appearance of the animal that they have grown traits for, in this situation, their strength and power is dramatically increased but any sense of mercy, reasoning or understanding leaves them and their only purpose is chaos.

𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐬
Wraiths have existed since the beginning of mankind, being manifestations of mankind's negative emotions and energy collected to create these beings, it is believed that Wraiths will never go away. They are completely invisible to the human eye and can only be seen by Magical Girls/Boys as well as Witches/Warlocks. For centuries there has only been one type of Wraith that has a skeletal-like structure to them as they stand nearly over 10 feet tall and are capable of firing lasers from their hands and eye sockets. Wraiths tend to follow humans that suffer through negative emotions to feed off of their negative energy to become stronger over time. They can rarely be seen during the day but are often found wandering around in dark corridors at night.

While there has only been one type of Wraith seen for as long as Magical Girls/Boys have been around, there have been rumors that have spread amongst Magical Girls/Boys that there are actually other more powerful variants of them that have yet to be seen. Some of these rumors have come with stories stating how some of the Wraiths have the ability to summon sabers from their palms, control fire, ice, move large objects with just their mind, and other terrifying abilities.
𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬
Abstract creatures that have the appearance similar to that of a puppet of sorts. Nightmares are humans whether magical or not that have been consumed into their own overwhelming negative emotions and energy. When an ordinary human is turned into a Nightmare, it is because their negative emotions have become so great to the point that a Witch/Warlock is capable of taking advantage of such power and causing them to fall into their own suffering and spitting them back out in the puppet monstrous like form. Luckily though once a Magical Girl/Boy defeats the Nightmare the human's soul can be purified by said Magical Girl/Boy so that they may return to their normal form along with their negative emotions being released.

The secondary way a Nightmare is born is through a Magical Girl/Boy. When a Magical Girl/Boy suffers through severe amounts of negative emotions and energy, their Soul Gem will begin to become corrupted and will only continue unless they can purify their own dark emotions by any means necessary. If a Magical Girl/Boy cannot purify it before the Soul Gem completely darkens, then cracks will begin to form around the gem causing immense levels of pain to be inflicted on them. From there, unless the dark Goddess extends a hand to turn them into a Witch/Warlock, they will be turned into a Nightmare. Unfortunately, even if another Magical Girl/Boy were to defeat this Nightmare, the individual would not return to being a normal human being due to their Soul Gem being shattered, instead, their soul would be purified and allowed to pass on peacefully.

Every Nightmare has a different form in appearance and their style of fighting is also different. The only thing they all have in common is that whatever negative emotion that drove them to this state tends to be represented in both their form or attack. As an example, if the negative emotion is because of a girlfriend being jealous of her boyfriend playing the violin too much and not paying attention to her, her form might be represented in a way that incorporates the violin or music in some way.
𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚
One of four highly powerful Witches/Warlocks that the dark Goddess Nix has under her command. This Witch's name is Amara, she was once a Magical Girl whose wish was that she could erase all her memories of her pain and loss after watching many of her friends die and family members pass away one after the other. Unfortunately for her though although the wish at first made her a stronger Magical Girl since she no longer had memories of the suffering, it also meant that she was completely oblivious to the fact that those she had lost were also gone. Because of this, each time she remembered those she had lost the wish would forcibly cause her to forget and eventually, she would once again remember, causing her to fall into an endless spiral loop of despair.

Due to her selfish wish, although she was able to be a Magical Girl for some time, she was quickly consumed by her despair, and her Soul Gem was quickly consumed into corruption. Being selected by Nix as someone who showed potential, she was greeted by the dark Goddess and had a hand extended to her to become a Witch. Rather than suffering the fate of becoming a Nightmare, Amara accepted the offer and became a Witch. As a Witch, she was able to use her negative emotions and the feeling of loss each time she relived it to become stronger. Eventually, she began to grow rabbit ears and a tail as her Cursed Gem became more and more corrupted over time. Eventually, once her gem was completely consumed in darkness, her entire body became similar to that of a rabbit. Her weapon is that of a scythe to represent all the loss and misery she suffered.
𝐑𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐦𝐚
The second of the four strongest Witches/Warlocks under the dark Goddess' command. This Warlock's name is Royuma and unlike her superior Amara, he was not originally a Magical Boy who was corrupted into becoming a Warlock because of his negative emotions and energy. Ryouma was once an ordinary human businessman, the only difference was that he was unimaginably greedy, no matter how he could get more money he wanted it all. Not only that but he was one of the biggest spenders one could imagine, he would spend his wealth on luxurious things, stuff that any ordinary other person would not need to survive, and even use his wealth to bribe others to do his bidding for him. His greed was so powerful to the point that when he did not have enough money to satisfy his desires, he would fall either into a deep rage and blame everyone else around him or go into a deep and dark depression.

This negative emotion of greed and others would soon attract the dark Goddess, Nix to his dreams. Promising him any wish that he wanted as long as he obeyed her, he was quick to make his wish for infinite wealth so that he would never know poverty. With the wish granted, he found himself waking with an endless amount of money that would flood his bank account, however, the money that flowed into his accounts would all come at the cost of even his loved ones being drained of their currency without any answers. Unfortunately, even with all the money in the world that continued to come to him, his greed was never satisfied for some reason, no matter how much money he had, he could no longer feel the same amount of dopamine from having and spending money.

This endless unsatisfactory soon became so overwhelming that as time went on, he began to grow jackal ears and eventually even a tail. He followed the orders he was given after becoming a Warlock in hopes that eventually, he would feel some dopamine at some point even as it never came. Soon enough, he drowned in his negative energy til his entire body began to even give the appearance of a jackal. His weapon of choice is a staff with an amethyst crystal on top of it and his attire is that of a suit to match his businessman appearance.
𝐋𝐲𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚
The third of the four powerful Witches/Warlocks that are under the rule of the dark Goddess. Lysandra unlike her superior was not a Magical Girl at any point in time but rather she was an ordinary teenage girl who dreamt of one day being able to make a career in dancing. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried or how many classes her family would put her through, she was unable to keep her balance or simply unable to keep up with specific movements that were expected of her. Her instructors would berate her constantly and tell her that she had two left feet and that her parents were disappointment in her only pushed her further and further into her own worthlessness.

Right before she was consumed in her own negative emotions and energy though, she was greeted one night by the dark Goddess, Nix. Offering a hand out to help her with her troubles as long as she obeyed her, Lysandra was quick on the opportunity to make a wish that she could dance eternally and captivate as well as mesmerize any who watched her flawlessness in her movements.

Unaware of the consequences of her wish when she had begun to dance for her family and others she began to understand and realize that she was practically unable to ever stop. Whenever music would come they would begin to dance and yet no matter how much she pleaded with those around her to help her stop dancing, her wish only had them mesmerized by her movements and in such awe at her fluid and amazing movements. Because of this as despair filled her Cursed Gem further and further, she eventually began to grow small limbs that were similar to that of a spider's, her fingers grew longer and even growing small bits of fur on them similar to a spider's.

As time went on eventually her own Cursed Gem would become fully corrupted leaving her completely formed in the appearance of an arachnid. Her weapon of choice are her multi legs that she can use to impale her enemies.
𝐊𝐚𝐳𝐮𝐤𝐢
The fourth and final of the four commanders of the dark Goddess, Kazuki. Unlike his superior Warlock comrade, Kazuki was a Magical Boy. During his time before being greeted by Aurora, he was an ordinary schoolboy who spent his days as any other teenager. He didn't have many friends and would spend all his time indoors other than going to school every day. Kazuki wasn't the most attractive-looking boy and because of this others didn't want to spend time with him much in case others would find it embarrassing to be hanging out with someone so ugly. Even with knowing that others did not want to spend time with him though, he seemed not to mind it much since he would constantly go home each day and spend his time playing video games or studying.

One night, he would be greeted by Aurora who offered him the chance to become a Magical Boy with the opportunity of a wish being made. His wish was that he would become the most beautiful and renowned fashion icon in the world. With the wish being made, his face was changed and since that day, everyone would constantly compliment him and want to spend as much time as possible with him. Becoming famous throughout his school and even to those outside of his school was refreshing, it would appear that with his wish he would be able to do his job as a Magical Boy without a problem. That was until he began to feel as though as time went on he realized that others only liked him and wanted to spend time with him for his looks and he realized that the moment someone else looked better than him, he would lose everyone.

Because of this, he slowly fell into an obsession to make sure that he always tried to improve his looks as much as possible. This selfish obsession with himself eventually caused his Soul Gem to become corrupted and just like his fellow commanders, he was visited by the dark Goddess at the last moments of his life and given a second chance to become a Warlock. From there, he continued the job that he was given but his obsession with his looks never dwindled, causing peacock-like tail feathers along with other traits to become forming throughout his body. Rather than fighting with an actual weapon, Kazuki fights with illusions using his glorious tail feathers that can mesmerize his opponents.
