The Last Poster Wins

Someone really likes Star Wars. :p
I mean , my profile picture is an obscure supporting character from a semi-obscure video-game from 2004..

Even if she is the subjective second-best character from that game - my personal favorite , of course - and one of my favorite Star Wars characters ever (top 5 , for sure).

EDIT - not to mention my username is the designation of the series of Assassin Droids from that same game , that only appear in that game (the HK-50's specifically , HK-series Droids entirely appear lots of places , and are that era's equivalent to the IG Droids).

I know what HK is. I play a game with HK-51, so I know whatcha meant.
Oh , so you play SWTOR? Does that mean you play either of the (prior , vastly superior) Knights of the Old Republic games too? Which leads to the question.. do you know who my profile picture is? (She's got black hair here instead of white , but.. I still really like it).

Of course I play SWTOR. My favorite game. I think I might know who your profile picture is....but I could be wrong.....so can you remind me?
KOTOR II is mine , although really its neck and neck with K1.

Atris , Jedi Historian , the one who's got a very.. bitter history with the Jedi Exile (even more so if you play him male like I do - it's always Female Revan and Male Exile for me , due in part for exactly this reason) , who's found hiding in the polar ice caps with the Handmaiden sisters in the first act of KOTOR II.
Along with a lion's share of the remaining Jedi Lore , and dozens of Sith Holocrons she's collected , trying to protect from being destroyed as so mang artifacts already have during the events leading to the beginning of the game. Said Sith Holocrons she talks with quite a bit , which.. needless to say isn't a good idea , but she thinks she's more than strong enough to do so. She's also caused the deaths of quite many of the other Jedi Masters to try to lure the Sith out of hiding , setting half the plot of the game into motion. Towards the end she 'succeeds' in luring the Sith to Telos and setting the more cinematic/less introspective end of the game in motion as well. In short , she's got her hands in a lot of cookie jars.
I'm close to the one person on earth who loves her character this much , and one of the seemingly few who loves her character at all.
Mostly because of the fact that she does all the stuff listed above fully out of the idea of being a 'True Jedi' , and preserving as much lore as she can - it's not until the end of her character arc (and a heavy dose of manipulation by Kreia) that she finally realizes that she's being hypocritical , and fully embraces the dark side. She functions as a symbol of how the Jedi Council failed their students , from the padawans like the Exile all the way up to Masters like Atris and Kreia - a major recurring theme throughout the game. After reading Heart of Darkness , I think she's got very strong shades of the character Kurtz.

And if all that was a little confusing , it's because KOTOR II actually had a very complex , interconnected , and above all introspective plot. It's why I love it so much , but it makes it hard to explain certain things without explaining 15 other things at the same time.

Yeah.

You know , following that connection I made above , KOTOR II is really the Heart of Darkness story for Star Wars.. it's just that it was crippled by having a rushed development schedule ,and thus is rather unfinished. Sadly this means a lot of people see it only as KOTOR's unfinished sequel , instead of seeing it as what it truly was (though , honestly the released game does omit quite a bit of the best details , and most of the end - and so you go to the restored content stuff, which fills just enough of it in that most people who aren't insanely nerdy like I obviously am can fill it all in and make sense of it).

And just to make it more clear , Heart of Darkness is the novella the film Apocalypse Now was based off of (with the setting moved from Colonial Africa to Vietnam during the Vietnam War).

Ah. It does. I can understand that.

I love SWTOR, but a lot of things are missing.
Wait , what does? KOTOR II being so expansive and unfinished makes it hard to explain , or it being unfinished makes it where less people enjoy it?

I mean , I never played SWTOR (dislike MMO games , dislike even more some of what they did to KOTOR and KOTOR II's story and characters) , but for a couple exploratory tries that I quickly drew disinterested with , so I wouldn't know..

I meant most of SWTOR. I mean, it does end the story well with the last update recently, but otherwise, there are things that seem odd.
Ah. I have played through the entire game of Star Wars The Old Republic, all classes, and it is very fun!

Ah. See , SWTOR never had or will have a true ending because it's an MMO game. Those don't have endings like single-player campaigns do , due to their very nature. KOTOR II had all the perfect ingredients for the most incredible game ending ever , but that was ruined by a rushed development schedule. Connecting enough dots is massively rewarding , but rather difficult. I'be got a text-based playthrough that does it mostly for you , though , in case you're interested.

Yeah.. one day I might need to give that Agent I made for that RP guild (it took place on discord but was based in the game) that my RP group leader is in that I didn't like a try again , without being part of said guild.

This is my agent. When you said Agent, she was the one that came up in my mind. lol

But, yeah, I understand that, I kinda want to make a RP that would have a continuation of the story and such. :3

Mirialan , eh? I always liked them , they're among my favorite humanoid races (and by that I mean like the Mirialans , Chiss , Miraluka and such - largely human features , with only a few differences). Mine is supposed to be Chiss , but she's merely a very dark haired human with a Chiss name because I don't/didn't want to pay for something in-game.

Mm.. I've always been more interested in taking the events that did happen and making characters and stories that run concurrent to that - the people who aren't as important , and sometimes are just getting swept up in everything (or throwing themselves into it , either way).

Not entirely true. Eternity doesn't exist - at some point this game will end , even if it ends with the very death of the universe.

Or , you know , the current Internet being replaced in favor of a more advanced communications network.
