The Kingdom of Sapphire [Inactive]

Grunting, Lysander began tapping his glass with his fork to gather everyone's attention. He was not amused at their ramblings about the exotic song that was performed, nor the dance - nor the girl, but her cleared his throat and waited until they all realized what he was doing. Once all of their eyes were on him he straightened his mask as he snobbishly held his head up high.

"Well! That was....quite the performance." he started, placing the fork down. "Now, welcome one and all to our annual castle feast. We use this day every year to remind us of the sacrifices that were made long ago - in which made our kingdom the way it is today. I would firstly, like to thank the captain of the guard for keeping our borders in check. This year, only five bandit camps came through the borders! And, they didn't last very long now did they?"

Everyone erupted in laughter and hollers - before dying down when Lysander waved his hand.

"Next, I would love to thank all the men and women who worked extremely hard to try to fix our recent harvesting problems. I know, that ever since the Emerald swamp became to be, that it has been difficult for any of us to pick up where we had left off. But thankfully, we persevered! As we always do!"

A few more cheers erupted, before the High Chancellor started once more.

"Lastly, I would like to propose a toast - for the late Queen who died the previous year. We all miss her dearly, as does the king. She will always be remember in our-" he stopped, coughing a moment and swallowing thickly. He felt as if his throat was clogging up..."In our..." he tried once more, hoarsely, "In our hearts."

Everyone began to murmur lowly, many did a sign of blessing - others nodded in understanding as the king looked away.

Lysander coughed once more, not even bothering to hush the crowd before he said "Carry on!" and bustled to find the nearest restroom.

(Alright, never done this on a website before but here goes nothing!)

This was so not Vaedion's crowd.

He just wished he could go back into the forest and sit back in his tree and keep to himself. No people, no noise, just the quiet breeze of the wind as he nods off to sleep, for he loved his naps. Alas, he was sent here to find something. His master was very uninformative in what exactly it was but he was very certain that it needed to be found and brought back and that it was here, and Vae was not one to talk back to the master. The last time he talked back to his master was the first and last time, for the scar across his eye was testament to that.

Vae had been looking around the town ALL day with very little luck and still not much of a clue as to what he was looking for. He just wished that his master had told him WHAT it looked like. "Why do I always get stuck with the ambiguous trials..." He murmured as he dragged his feet along the ground.

He reached for his water pouch from his bag across his back, unscrewed the cap and one tiny drop of water came running out, dissolving in midair before hitting his tongue. Of course, why wouldn't he be out of water RIGHT NOW.

Vae looks around to for anywhere to get a drink. At this rate, he would take anything, maybe even something with a bit of kick to it, god knows he is going to need it to keep going on this goose chase with a something that he is required to bring back, and he did NOT want to know what would happen to him if he didn't bring it back.

As he is looking around his vision gets hazy and blurred. He needed to find somewhere fast, before he passes out. He finds a building and stumbles in, grabs a table on the way in as balance. Everyone in the room looks at him because of the banging he made entering. Vae tries to speak but all he gets out is "Water...plea..." before he promptly passes out in the floor.

The scribe leaned back into her chair smugly, watching Lysander choke with pure joy. Instantly she glanced at Chione, and then at Velsir smirking as she directed her eyes towards the direction that the high elf sped off to, indicating that one should follow.

Chione glared at Eilis, not really liking where any of this is going. All of this seemed way too easy - and way too clean as she ignored all the compliments the other dancers were giving her as the speech had ended. "'Scuse me, mizzus." She hissed, following after Lysander in haste.

Velsir just kept his eyes on Chione, and the others. His eye then caught Eilis and he shot her a smile. With a sigh he looked away and drew his attention on Lysander.

Any second during this speech of his he could collapse and begin puking, or something like that. He just knew the Leech Wyrm Eggs should make him extremely sick. Hopefully sick enough for a room.

It would also embarrass the pest.

One of the thieves of the Rogue's Guild spotted Vae and laughed, lifting the man's head up. He began pouring some water down his throat. Rorigan had always been nice.

He then looked around, his hands on his blades. If anyone made a move for the unconscious man's coin purse he would have slashed at them.

At the same time he was wondering how Velsir was doing.

Lysander always hated the color green.

He couldn't even make it to the bathroom as he began to throw up - the yellow mixing in with a shockingly red, causing him to cry like a new born.

"Bloo-" he heaved again, his throat making a wretched hacking noise as he keeled over, unable to stand up while he was nauseated. His whole entire back began to shiver as he wiped his mouth, moaning loudly in pain as he looked up at the window, racking his brain to figure out what was going on.

First the man - than the woman, than the scribe smiling at him...He didn't understand it all.

Wait.

Man.

Woman.

Scribe...

The man began the interaction...The woman..distracted him.. The scribe watched the woman...

The man leaned over and asked him about the Kingdom.

The woman began her elaborate dance.

The scribe studied every move.

The man waited for the woman to finish.

...The man leaned.

Right next to his chalice.

He throw up again and smashed his fist into the ground, bawling furiously. He'd been tricked. What would he tell the sewing ladies now? What of the kingdom? What of...

His vision began to darken and blur. He felt as if he was drowning underwater. The footsteps approaching him sounded like someone banging against glass as he whimpered.

Gasping for air, Vae returns from the unconscious, as he begins to become sober, covering his face with his scarf as he turns red, embarrassed at the fact that he passed out in the middle of a room of people. First off he didnt enjoy the company of people, secondly, he hated when he was the center of attention, both of which happened in just the matter of less than a minute.

He looked at Rorigan and saw the water he had helped by gracing his lips with. He thanked him for the water and found an empty seat so sit at so he could rest for a moment and catch his breath. He had never passed out from exhaustion before, but he supposed that coming from the forest he had not known the heat, and now thanks to the fall he had endured, he had a really bad headache. Vae said under his breath "Thanks master, thank you so much..."

"Keep the water.", Rorigan assured him, pushing the large bottle of water his way. "You'll need it it seems.", he said with a smile before chugging down some ale.

"I wonder...", he muttered, taking another sip.

Velsir walked up to Chione in the confusion, patting her on the back, whispering. "You'll need to distract the guards now, and I'll free the Alpha.", he said with a sigh. He didn't care much for lycanthropes, yet he couldn't deny their power. He just had a thing out for them, the last time he dealt with a lycanthrope was the day he nearly lost his life.

After talking to Chione he lost his nerve and stared at her rather awkwardly yet he didn't seem to care. Velsir just hoped Chione would get out of this unscathed if not then at least not too injured...

This elf was truly a beautiful person, talented too. It would be a shame for her to die doing something like this.

"I.." Chione hesitated, suddenly looking down the hall in which the Chancellor turned to, and seeing a guard about to turn the corner. Quickly, she squealed before knocking down a vase. "Whoops!" She said loudly, stumbling and hitting the pillar that the vase rested upon and giggling loudly - grabbing Velsir by the front of his Tuxedo.

The guard turned, raising a brow and sighing before walking towards them. "Hey, the banquet is in the other room. You aren't supposed to be here."

Chione pretended not to hear him, playing with Velsir's hair and giggling while rubbing the outside of his leg with her foot, causing the guard to grumble in annoyance.

"Mmm? Oh..I'm so sorry guardsmen.." Chione slurred, pressing her back against the wall and draping her arm over her eyes, "I just drank way too much back there." she winked at the man before continuing. "I think, I need a quiet place to relax."

The guard shook his head, crossing his arms. "No can do ma'am. Back to the party." He wasn't having it - making Chione pout, and stumble towards him. "Please?" she asked sweetly, drawing circles on his plated torso. Though, he shook his head once more, causing her to glare at him angrily.

"I'm sorry, then."

"It's quite alright ma'-"

She grasped his neck tightly, pinning him up against the wall and holding him there. The guardsman began to choke in shock, grabbing at her arm and reaching for his sword. Chione knew with out a doubt that she couldn't fight this man - his weight and size highly outmatched hers, which is why she grabbed a shard from the vase she had dropped, and quickly slit his throat - letting his body fall.

"Okay. Let's get there quick." she hissed towards Velsir, throwing the shard to the side.

Velsir had completely blushed as Chione played the scene out, but when the action began he was ready. Suddenly Velsir drew out two daggers, tossing one Chione's way. "Safety, of course", he said with a smile, and then began rushing silently until he nearly ran straight into another guard who was about to turn the corner he'd peek around.

With a sudden knee to the crotch Velsir pulled the guard from behind the corner and jabbed down against the back of the man's throat as he laid him against the floor. He grunted as he yanked the blade free and looked around the corner.

The security was high, and he was devising a plan in his head, but they didn't have time...

"You think you can run around and say annoying things and insulting things loudly so I can get by?", he asked with an awkward smile. "I promise to save you after."

Chione grinned. "Being annoying is my forte." with a deep inhale of breath as she crackled her knuckles, she suddenly began to burst out laughing loudly, saying thing along the lines of "The Queen is dead!" and a string of elven curses before ducking down another hall. Her ears twitched as she heard the sound of boots coming towards her - egging her on to keep the act going. "She probably died because of the terrible protection service!"

Velsir, smiling as all the guards had left the scene, began making his way into the dungeon, only to find two other guards still inside, who he dealt with quickly.

The first ran up to him and jabbed towards his chest, yet Velsir turned and let the blade fly past him along with the man's arm, which he grabbed, twisting it suddenly with his left hand, using his right to jab the man in the jugular.

After kicking the first down back into the second guard he quickly snatched the key off the first guard's belt and ran across to the cells, yelling out.

"Alpha!?"

Eilis slowly walked into the dungeon, with a total of fifteen men behind them . She clapped slowly, smirking at Velsir as she held her head up high.

"Tidings, thief."

~*~

Chione panted softly, leaning up against the wall as she peaked around the corner. Why didn't she hear any footsteps?

The elf cursed loudly, knowing all of this seemed like a bad idea from the start. Without thinking she padded her way to the dungeon, a terrible feeling gnawing at her gut.

~*~

"As you can see, the dungeons are empty. So - why are you here - and why did we found our Chancellor throwing up blood in the hallway?" Eilis picked at her nails, staring at them intently with a small smile. "You, are in a lot of trouble dear sir. Gentlemen-" she looked at the guards, then back to Velsir. "As the temporary High Chancellor, I place you under arrest on the account of treason, and - of course....attempt of murder."

Velsir growled with anger. He should have taken Chione's advise, he should have stayed safe, away from Eilis. Yet he walked blindly into this.

"Oh... then explain this..", Velsir said. He threw out a balled up map of the castle, along with a sigh. He knew they might not believe this but he was going to try anyway.

"I haven't seen this castle before, but dear Eilis has. How would I draw such an accurate map without being somewhere, and clearly I was too busy dealing with the guards sent after me to even think about such an attempt.. Eilis just wants power over Lysander, that's all there's too it, isn't it clear the two rival each other?"

Velsir was doing his best to be convincing, but he had a feeling it wouldn't work. Eilis and these guards were too stiff, yet hopefully someone would believe him...

All the while Velsir was reaching for a small crystal ball, tapping it three times. He had mentioned backup before.

Thieves were on their way, inside mercs hired from the sketchy nobles of the crowd. Velsir had friends in politics too, yet he had only hoped that help would arrive soon.

Battle emerged against guards in the hallway with the hired arms...

Eilis raised an eyebrow. "I'm a scribe. I have maps over every single place that you could ever possibly imagine. I can only imagine you stole this from my library." She grinned wickedly, "That, and the fact that it's quite a proven fact that the tavern maiden used to be a bounty hunter. She used to do bounties for me all the time. I'm sure she had stolen it after the last bounty."

- - -

Chione's feet screeched against the tile as she saw the pile up of guards in the front of the dungeon.

"Shit.." she murmured, hiding in an alcove. Her mind began to look around for anything to use at full throttle as she examined the dagger within her hand. She noticed others entering the hallway, their footsteps very light and steady. Slowly she crouched down - watching and waiting for her next move.

The rogues made their way through the hallway, slicing the throats of all the guards before the could react. Once they made it to the entrance someone screamed to get the group of guard's attention.

"For Nerull!", a scream cried out, a flurry of arrows hurtling into the back of the group...

Meanwhile on the outside of the walls a gnomish thief was playing with a flint and tinder, he was going to light the fire on call but he couldn't help but fiddle with the tools a bit.

This gnome didn't grow up as bright as the others, and he lit fire to a nearby grass. He was a bit of a pyromaniac, yet he could control himself. Or so he thought... When he looked back at the castle, waiting to see the signal, he had completely forgotten about the fire.

It had already engulfed one house.

Another thief spotted the fire as he was sneaking in to the aid of Velsir and facepalmed. "Put it out before we-", he began, only to nearly yelp in pain as the fires on the roof nicked out at his back. He sighed and finished his climb over a wall.

The Gnome had completely ignored the man, too busy fiddling with a few tools. He was lost in curiosity, and the fire was spreading... But he couldn't be blamed. Afterall, he didn't grow up as bright as the others... maybe.

Chione made sure to spring into action right when the rogues arrived. Very first thing she did was barge into the room and grab Eilis by the hair. Both elven women were screeching and beating each other, thrashing around in a flurry of biting, and pulling - before their combined weights made them both fall as they began to tumble down the stairs to the deeper cells.

Chione yelped in pain when Eilis landed on top of her, the moon elf attempting to choke her with a crazed look in her eyes. "You BITCH." she screeched, trying to grab for the dagger Chione had upon her.

Suddenly, a low growl was omitted, causing both of their neck hairs to stand up as they looked over at one of the only three cages in such a deep part of the dungeon, Chione pushing against Eilis' cheek, as Eilis' gaped loudly.

Velsir was too busy to notice the growl, he was too busy fighting along side his men, who had thrown him a sword. He ran the first guard through the stomach and kicked the corpse of the once living man back so that it landed on another corpse, the swift move freeing his blade.

With a twirl he beheaded another guard, yet one more came down on him and slashed him across the right shoulder, he yelled out and grabbed the man, jabbing the sword into his right shoulder. He then headbutted him and the guard fell unto the floor.

But Velsir wasn't done.

He began to rip the man apart with his hands in a rage. Velsir had been keeping in all this rage for awhile now, and he had to let it out at some time.

All his other men were fighting, evenly matched with the guards.

And at the same time the fire had caught up to three houses, and burned one family to death.. But then the flame caught what was supposed to be lit.. a trail of oil that led around the castle, literally lighting the walls of the castle and spreading the fire towards it's main building.

Chaos by Gnome.

Chione shoved Eilis off of her and got up quickly, backing up against the wall. The moon elf shakily got up - not as used to battle, and already winded. The growl became far more deeper when she got up, causing her to hold her breath.

The lycan bore his eyes towards the two women - causing Chione to curse loudly. Of course the feast was held on a full moon. She thought, before smelling something wafting from the upper parts of the dungeon. The potent smell of rust was evident. She honestly, wasn't too sure if it was her, or Eilis that gave off the smell - though she didn't really care as she gently approached the cage.

"It's alright..." she practically whispered. The growling got louder as the giant wolf strained against the chained collar around his neck. "I won't hurt you..."

Velsir got off of the corpse of the guard before he turned to see Eilis, casting a glare at her. He then began to walk towards the woman, his blade drawn.

"This was all your fault...", he began, growling.

He then spotted the Lycan and his eyes widened, yet he knew Chione knew what she was doing. He tossed the key over her way. "Chione, handle the Lycan, we'll handle these bastards."

A guard suddenly rushed him and ran him through the right leg, he yelled out and turned, backslapping the man. He then kicked the man in the pelvis and began to beat him down repeatedly. As the guard cried for mercy Velsir just beat him more, constantly adding in a slash or scratch unto the man.

Velsir didn't like being stabbed.

Without hesitation, Chione opened the cage and flung the door open. The lycan howled loudly - charging forward and knocking her down as he attempted to grab Eilis.

Seeing this as her opportunity - the moon elf fled, pushing guards out of the way in her wake.

Chione squeaked softly as the Lycan kneeled down to sniff her, his nose lightly brushed over her eye as drool pooled down her temple. He bared his teeth at the sun elf, and grabbed her, slugging her over his shoulder.

"Ow! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" She wheezed. His grip was like a vice - though it seemed like he didn't pay any heed to the comment as he noticed all the guards fearfully turned towards him, bows and tips of spears shakily being pointed at him. He barked loudly, surging forward and flinging men out of the way as he attempted to rush out of the castle. Guests screamed in terror and dove out of the way as he ran straight through the great hall - Chione screaming loudly as she practically clawed his shoulder to stay on.

She will never complain about a horse ever again.

She watched the king spit out his drink, while rest of the nobles yelled or fainted while they excited out of the castle, not exactly in style as she anticipated.

Velsir yelled out but was stopped by the last guards, who he slaughtered viciously. He ordered his men to track down the Lycan, and kill it if need be.

He wouldn't let that thing eat Chione.

Velsir began limping, dragging the blade out of his leg as it hindered his movement. About to pass out from blood loss, the gift of a health potion from a nearby thief made it all much better, yet the wound still slightly bled. With each step filled with pain Velsir began running for a horse, cursing as he watched fire spread across the buildings and the castle.

"Chione! I'll get you!", he yelled as he ran behind the Lycan, yet he couldn't catch up. His horse wasn't that far away but the Lycan could lose him once he mounted the horse

(My bad for taking so long. Had to do car stuffs!)

Chione wanted to vomit. The landscape was moving far too fast - and her head kept bobbling up and down as if she was a child's toy. The Lycan panted way to loud - causing her whole body to vibrate against the noise, and worst of all, was the seering pain over her left cheek. Though, she couldn't feel it at such high speeds.

She grunted at the lack of guards following them, though she had no one else to blame but her and Velsir for that, as well as she was about to slap the wolf in the backside of the head to put her down - but they came to a screeching halt as the big beast put her down on the grass gently - her butt hitting the cold grass with a thump.

Right next to the edge of Chalice Forest.

"Oh." the sun elf blinked, confused as she looked at the forest. "I don't suppose you fancy the taste of elf, yeah?"

The beast looked at her blankly.

"Uh..Guess not. So, I won't be dragged into the forest and eaten alive?"

The Lycan sat down as well, although criss-crossed as it looked like it raised it's eyebrow.

"...No sense of humor. Got it." Chione mumbled, rubbing her shoulders. "Dammit, I forgot my cloak at the castle."

The Lycan tilted it's head, realizing her dilemma and quickly took off in a blur of grey - leaving her alone in the dark.

"Perfect." she mumbled sarcastically to herself.

Velsir had mounted his horse and followed yet they disappeared, but he knew the direction to his own guild. Once he began to come close the Lycan ran past him quickly, yet he didn't notice.

All he saw was Chione in the distance, and he rode up, surprised to not find a pile of torn meat, bone, and skin.

"Are you alright?", Velsir asked as he looked around, drawing out his blade. He was completely ready to decapitate any Lycan that came close, he wasn't going to take chances.
