The Kingdom of Sapphire [Inactive]

Velsir lowered his bow and nodded. He slipped into the shadows and re-emerged with his business clothing on. A not so common suit that only nobles wear, a tuxedo.

"I bet you haven't seen one of these before", Velsir said with a smirk, making his way next to Chione, ready to leave when she was. Just to add the effect her took out a dagger and outstretched his arm, pulling back the sleeve. With a quick move he slashed a cut unto his arm and the pain reminded him that this is life, that they were in a situation here, and that he could die.

He tossed the dagger away and wrapped a bandage around his cut.

She raised an eyebrow in peaked interest. "Not on you, no."

Chione scooped up her bird while once again shouldering her pack - getting up and stretching lazily. "I hate when I have to deal with the Moon elf....do I have to?" she whined towards Harald who shrugged. He didn't get the fact that she was joking as he grunted.

"Maybe it's because she's uh - a moon elf...and you're half sun?"

The elven maiden rolled her eyes before patting him on the shoulder, as if to say she forgives him for his denseness. He wasn't a bad man - and quite the excellent cook. However, it's undeniably that he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Mithril chittered in his direction - Harald being his favorite person for feeding him bread crumbs soaked in milk and honey.

"Fatty." Chione scolded her bird with affection, following Harald towards Evelynn's Grove while examining the prints of the guards now passed.

Getting back to the tavern wasn't difficult - and by the looks of things Harald did her a favor and closed down for the evening. Though, when he shouldered the door open there was Eilis in her splendor, sipping daintily on a glass of wine and smoothing down her cream and silver dress.

"Tidings, Chione and -" she cleared her throat politely, "Ehem. Company." The blue hued woman got up, placed her glass upon the table, and clasped her dainty hands together as if to wait for everyone to say something back to her.

"Hail, Blue!" Chione grinned, her golden eyes sparkling as she gave a flourishing bow that made Eilis purse her lips distaste. Harald nodded once more.

"Mmm yes. Good to see you again." Eilis flat-lined, before taking another sip of her wine. "I assumed by now you had made a decision upon my proposal - I do not like to be kept waiting." her silver eyes met Chione's, though they weren't filled with mirth and mischief such does flames by the hearth - they were more cold, calculating, and ruthless, like molded steel. She flung her silvery hair over her shoulder, before really glancing over to Velsir - whom she's never actually met but knew by reputation.

"Ah. I know you. Through reputation, of course." she said amusingly, "You have quite some class. I enjoy a person who knows how to dress."

"Past business has taught me that if your going to act the part you might as well look the part. As classy as I might look or seem, I can be ruthless as well, therefore business can flourish, however I'm sure you know my guild's current position due to that ambassador.."

Velsir took a bow and shot a smile at Eilis. "Lady Eilis, I have heard of your offer, and Chione has suggested that I carry out the task, therefore I will follow her advice, if you have no objections... I'd just like you to state the benefits for the guild if we carry out your task, and if you'd like us to do anything extra for a little more coin, if not then for free."

Velsir didn't seem like the flirtatious and determined yet happy man that Chione was once with, but now colder and more factual and business like.

It was most impressing, how Velsir wore a mask of business, and that no one knew what was under.

Eilis scanned him up and down. It seemed like she already had formed a strategic plan as she pulled out a crisp, golden envelope - flashing a gracious smile at Velsir. The smile was so wide her fangs poked through, still stained with the bloodwine.

"There is a Masquerade being held at the castle. Originally, I wanted Chione to assassinate Lysander during the mourning ceremony for the Queen, but she had refused the offer. So, I suppose this occasion would have to do - though it would be more busy than I originally anticipated." the moon elf glared towards Chione, though her sickly sweet smile never left her face. "This invitation will get you in, but sadly I only have one. The other would have to sneak in somehow."

She handed Velsir the envelope, then pulled out an old piece of parchment and quill. "This, is an old map of the castle. It hasn't been updated - so unfortunately I don't know how accurate it is at the current moment." she pointed her elegant finger at a far window, by the left tower "This window has the best blind spot, as well as it being down the hall to the King's Chambers - which is the most guarded hall." her finger swiveled down a crudely drawn staircase, and towards the ballroom. "The party is here. Around eight is when Lysander will give his run of the mill speech."

Looking directly at Chione, she added: "My guess, is you won't be able to kill Lysander at this party. It's too risky. However, there is a man within the Dungeon underneath the castle - and if you can free him, then we can plan the real assassination. You will need someone to distract the guards in front of the castle when you first break in, and an excuse to get to the dungeons down below. My suggestion is to break him out and try to blend within the party. I will be sitting next to the king, watching."

Chione blinked, nodding at all of this information. "Who's the man within the dungeon? An old flame?"

Eilis glared angrily. "No. He's the Alpha from the Silvermoons, and a wanted murderer."

Velsir stroked his light beard and smiled. "I know someone who can distract the guards for us, he's a good if not cocky kid.. However it'll be up to Chione who gets the invitation, as I believe I can get in either way.", he said, looking over the map.

"Once I'm in I'll blend in with the crowd, and put a bit of Leech Wyrm eggs into Lysander's drink, that is if I can. This would make the job easier if possible, the eggs should get him sick and he'd be sent to a room. That would give us a less crowded area to play out the assassination.", he said, looking up with a glint in his eye.

"I'll need Chione to help me find a way to convince the guards to let us in, if it comes down to it I'll have her distract all the other guards whilst I... deal with the ones guarding the dungeon. Once I enter I'll free the Alpha and give him clothing, find noble ware and a mask, which I will also provide for Chione, her choice of course."

"If this plan fails and we are caught I will have a ragtag group of rogues hidden around the entrance to create a distraction so we may escape, if anything else happens or someone must be eliminated I will try to sneak another rogue in, Rorginar, with whoever does not go in with the invitation."

"And if we cannot escape I will simply give my life and do my best to escort whoever I bring in to safety."

Eilis' silver eyes beamed at Velsir's direction, thinking the plan through thoroughly. "As of right now, that's the best plan we've got."

Chione frowned, however. "It'd be best for you to sneak in. I'm not very stealthy..I kinda just like to barge into things...."

Harald grunted at this, which made Chione kick him in the back of the shin - though it's not as if he felt it much, being so beefy.

"It's settled," Eilis declared, her nose in the air as she gave the map to Velsir. "I'm sure you two will figure it out. I was never here, and if you do get caught - I am not helping you." she smoothed her skirts and fixed her hair promptly, before exiting the tavern with a back handed wave, "Good eve."

Once the door had closed upon her departure - Chione let out an over dramatic groan. "I hate that woman."

"Don't get too hateful of her, we're working for her after all.", he said with a smile. Velsir handed her the invitation and went over his plans in his head, pulling out a paper to write them down.

"Chione, do you have to come?", he asked with a worried look on his face. "This is for my guild, and of course I'd share the pay with you but I'd do it anyway even if you didn't come."

Velsir didn't want to lose anything or anyone unless it was absolutely necessary, that included Chione. She may have had a role in the plan, and would be a big help too, better then any other rogue... Yet Velsir did admit to having feelings for her and losing her would just be too much of a loss.

Who would give him massages, mess around with him, and relieve him of stress if she was gone?

Chione rolled her eyes. "I'm not that old - Palor preserve me. I have a little plan of my own on getting in." She strutted towards her office, opening the door and going straight for her closet. She pulled out a big piece of bundled cloth and brought it back to the front of the tavern, grinning. "This, my dear friend - is my outfit from Farsai." she unwrapped the white sheet, revealing an orange two piece with intracet designs all over the hems and edges that have been stitched with golden thread. The bottom layer was a skirt made of beads and strips of cloth, while the top simply looked like a bra with sequins on it. the sun elf stroke it fondly - filled with nostalgia before lifting up the veil.

"I used to be a dancer. I was going to act like I was the nights' entertainment and get in. I figured it be the easiest way to stay out of sight."

Velsir smiled, there was no containing Chione at this rate. "All right I'll try not to worry Chi Chi", he said with a laugh. He folded the papers up stuffed them into his pockets to later research over with the guild. "It seems Farsai has a very exotic taste in clothing, at least to me it does, I enjoy the look of it.", he said with a grin over at Chione.

"Hey, if I die I want you to take care of the guild for me, if it isn't too much to trouble you", he said with a suddenly serious yet grim look. He sighed, remembering what situation they were in and couldn't help but pull out his secret diary he'd been keeping for awhile now and began to scratch in some words.

"Don't tell anyone I have this", he said with a glare. If people knew that the grand Mr.King had a diary it would be a serious blow to his ego. "Or do I have to bribe you?"

She couldn't help but to bust out with laughter. "It's okay, mellon. Everyone's got some secret text. I know I have some myself. As for exotic...You've seen nothing yet." she folded her garb back and stuck her tongue out at Harald who obviously grunted with displeasure, before she softly whispered towards Velsir in a more serious manner.

"I don't think dying will me an option."

Chione walked towards her hearth and stoked the fire a bit more, making sure to warm up the den area within the tavern. She liked warm places, and warming up her hands momentarily is just what she needed after the days turn of events. Harald retired back to his kitchen, taking Mithril with him to place him within his cage - right as Chione sat in front of the fire.

"I don't have a good feeling about this heist, Vel. It feels way too...calculated."

"Too calculated?", Velsir asked with a brow raised. He knew that this was very dangerous.. but what did too calculated mean? As if there was an ambush set up by their very client? Perhaps they were receiving false information? He wasn't sure what Chione meant by 'Too calculated'. Perhaps she was just used to barging in and killing.

He sighed as he finished writing and focused on Chi Chi.

She stoked the fire once more, hypothesizing. "Eilis is a scribe. Not a strategist. Why would she come with such a calculated plan for us to do - as well as if she's close to the king, why hasn't she just killed Lysander already? I'm sure she had plenty of opportunities." the fire crackled softly, making her yawn and sigh in frustration. "I'm dwelling on it too much, perhaps."

The elf crawled towards one of her couches, slithering upon it, and lying down lazily. "I'm also way too sore to give a damn right now."

Velsir couldn't help but dwell on it as well, perhaps Eilis was just scared, or maybe there were more personal reasons? He sighed and watched Chione lay down. "I'm going back to the Thieve's Guild to explain the plan to everyone and get some rest, you becareful now.", Velsir said with a smile, suddenly kissing Chi Chi on the forehead as he turn and left.

After a few minutes he had made his way into the forest and past where the camp should of been, with a crack he kicked open the trapdoor and slid down it's latter, closing the door behind him. Another few minutes of walking through the tunnel and he found himself opening the door.

He was back home. With a sigh of relief he wasn't attacked or anything Velsir threw the plan unto the table and kept walking past his mates, quickly getting to rest in a bed.

(I'm going to be gone for awhile, not like an entire day or anything, just going to visit someone and then go to a party)
(Back)

The clacking of hooves was starting to get on Chione's nerves. Thankfully, Harald was actually upon the horse - trying to make the ride as smooth as possible for her, though it didn't really help much. The elf just doesn't do horses. Being on the beast already made her uncomfortable.

"I'm better at traveling on foot." she verified, which made her cook grunt in confirmation that he had heard her.

She wrapped her black cloak around her tighter, the satin tickling her exposed belly. Approaching the castle at such a night like this made her adrenaline shoot straight through her veins and into her head with excitement, and (though she won't admit it) fear. The moon was beautifully round and full - with the stars blooming and twinkling around it in an intricate dance - just like the guests who were flocking to the castle from their horses and carriages.

Everyone was just so loud - it made her ears swivel this way and that, trying to pin point any voice that she could recognize, though it was nearly impossible. The only true sounds she could make out were the music from inside the castle, and the neighing of Harald's horse as he had stopped it and motioned for her to dismount.

She patted the burly man on the back in thanks before jumping off - pulling her cloak even closer and adjusting the hood upon her head as she made it towards to front marble steps. There, two guards stood by patiently - as a servant waited for her to show the invitation. Without hesitation, she showed the envelope with flourish, smiling brightly.

"Alroight missus - right this way! Though you need ta take the hood off, yeh?" the servant informed, bowing at the half-breed.

Chione pouted, slowly removing her hood and letting her black hair spill out around her shoulders in a giant curly wave. She had Harald help her curl the strands (he's a man of many talents) as she weaved golden beads through them - looking just like fireflies in the dead of night - as a beautiful chained crown with one bobble representing the sun that was against her forehead matched her eyes, which were warmly looking at the servant.

"I suppose I could. Could you take this for me?"

She removed her cloak slowly, letting it spill off her shoulders before gathering it and handing it to the plump man. He gulped loudly, taking it and nodding before ducking to put it into storage. He didn't want to seem to be rude for staring at her state of dress for too long.

The sun elf laughed lowly to herself, before swaying her hips to the dancing sand pit. Other dancers in similar state of dress were standing there - awaiting for the music to start by stretching and chittering about, though when Chione walked up they stopped - their eyes boring into her.

"And who are you?" one asked venomously.

Chione gasped in mock surprise, putting her hand over her mouth. In an instant.

"Vy, you 'aven't heard of me?" she asked, her eyes going wide as she put on a fake accent. "Ze king o'derd me from Luminus to come and uh - entertain ze people! He vanted somsing more uh - exzotic!"

Instantly the girls grunted, unliking the thought of being showed up, before one exhaled loudly. "Fine, after the next song - let us see what you can do."

"Vy zat would be ezellent!" Chione clapped her hands happily, before looking up at the windows, trying to see if she can spot a shadow shape.

A shadow quickly passed by. In a few moments Velsir had appeared in the crowd, checking his clothing. It was an even finer tuxedo, and the mask he bore was a Vendetta mask (Guy Fawkes mask). A few people began talking to him and he acted normally.

Just a few minutes ago he had sneaked his way around the roof of the castle to make it to the window, which he had silently slipped through as he spotted the guards were drinking. He closed the window like nothing happened, and made his merry way past them, nodding as he walked along.

Right after he left the guards were being scolded by their captain for drinking.

He then approached Lysander, to see if he had a drink. Yet not to act suspicious or anything he began a conversation. "How goes the kingdom?", he asked to Lysander. It may have been hard for some people to spot the actual person behind the mask, yet Velsir knew how do to such things, memorizing the faces of everyone he's met at least twice.

The music got more intense, which made Chione's heart beat even faster as she watched the other dancers start doing defying stunts in the middle of the dance floor, causing everyone to "Oooh" and "Ahh!"

Her hips began to swivel, though she kept her place outside the edge of the pit as she waited for the song to end - just as she had said she would. The huntress scanned the room diligently, squinting at the man talking to the High Chancellor though she was unsure of who the man actually was - nor could she hear the conversation. Just as the man had walked towards Lysander, she saw Eilis take her spot by the king, who had sat down on his feast table.

The moon elf glared across the room at her, but the smirk she had on her face meant that she was waiting. As if Chione was a side show attraction.

This caused the sun elf to blush heavily. She is not anyone's play thing! Though the song had stopped, and the dancers moved out of their place - leaving the sand pit free just for her as they said they would. The orchestra looked at her expectantly for a song option to play, in which Chione whispered to the conductor - noticing his eyebrows furrowing upon her request. Still, he tapped his wand three times, looking over his shoulder to see if she was in place, and slowly began to wave his wand.

The song started with the long draw of the violin - as if someone was stroking the note downwards. The sun elf instantly matched the tune - her body as flexible as the violin's bow - arching downwards into a bow slow low, her nose was at level with her ankle. She shifted her eyes towards the other dancers and smiled - showing all of her teeth in a way that conveyed now it's my turn.

Velsir was about to say something else before he had himself distracted by Chione. He nearly said 'Holy shit she's sexy as fuck', but caught himself and managed to hold it in his head. He broke his eyes off of Chi Chi however and quickly slipped the Leech Wyrm Eggs into the drink, as tiny as an ant the eggs liquefied in the drink.

Now they just had to wait for Lysander to give his speech, perhaps toast and drink, and then become sick. He'd get a room, and then they'd free the Alpha so they may plan their assassination in a safer area, rather then this crowded place.

Since his job was done for now Velsir happily laid his eyes on Chione, his gaze could be easily felt and his face was red at the sight of her.

(Happy? I finally made an account on here. Eat my dust.)

Today was just awful! Filled with too many stuffy nobles that wanted to have this party their way, the king being in a depressed mood, and oh - the HORROR of the fact that the servants accidently put out the GOLDEN PLATES with the SILVER chalices! Lysander felt like he should've died. Seriously. How disastrous.

Though this party was definitely one that him and the ladies of his sewing group would be talking about at least for the next month. He was so excited that for once he didn't have to listen about blasted politics as he dawned his flashy peacock mask. Maybe he could find a handsome bed warmer for the night? He surely hoped so!

But ah, a gentleman just approached him wearing the most fetching finery. Lysander couldn't help but smile brightly, bowing with such over zealous grace.

"Good evening sir! I do hope you are enjoying the party - and you just marvelous in that mask."

Ah yes, this man seemed quite interested. This made Lysander smile wider. Perhaps he didn't need to hope so much after all!

Ah - but wait..Did he? Oh by the divines. How's the kingdom going? Really? Ugh.

Well, for starters - the peasants wont stop complaining about the marshes that used to be the bread basket - unliking the new foreign policies that have been put in place to search for food. Plus the mages have been going haywire as of late - and don't get him STARTED on the orc issue....

"Why, perfectly fine as usual! You know us Sapphirans, always happy - always content. Although I would be more content after a dance....If you ah - catch my drift." he cooed, smoothing down his velvet sleeves.

Velsir shot a smile at Lysander, holding back a laugh. This was the man he was supposed to kill. However at the thought of the guild Velsir didn't feel any remorse as he shot the smile, the smile was actually genuine. It may not seem much to Lysander, yet to Velsir it meant something.

Something like 'I'm going to kill you, for my family, and I'll enjoy it'. But with an innocent laugh he then looked back over to Chione. "I can tell your lying, I've been around politicians long enough to know that."

It was easy to notice that Velsir couldn't take his eyes off of Chione, however he seemed to want to behave himself and looked away for as long as he could before glancing back.

(YUS! Leeeeo~)

Chione slowly came back up, twisting her hips out and twirling with eloquent movements, humming along to the song. It was her mothers favorite back in the brothel. A desert classic. It spoke of a romance that could never be, and as much as it reminded her of her father - she couldn't help but relate to it as she began to move her hips as a serpent, sliding her hands up her belly and upon her face before bending her back once more - keeping her hips moving as if they were made of water.

She spotted the High Chancellor and Velsir - who seemingly stopped their conversation for a moment. She winked at them both before swooping up and twirling - as if she had an imaginary hula hoop, though she didn't take her eyes off of them.

That's when she saw what Velsir did thanks to his slight of hand - making her laugh all the while dancing. She slid her foot out and crated a large swooping arch in the sand just in time with the violins again, which caused the crowd watching to clap in appreciation to her timing with the music.

Lysander watched where the man's eyes were travelling, causing him to hmph in frustration. Damn harlot. Though he put on an air of sophistication as he laughed lightly. "Ah! Now you know what my job truly entails!" he joked, though not giving anymore details. "To tell you the truth, if I could move like that all day and keep the peace I would, but unfortunately I only have that much ah - energy in the bedroom. I'm a busy man, you know how it goes! Though, her outfit is to die for."

He'd probably pull it off better too. Half-breeds have no class.

The High elf took a sip out of his chalice, looking over his shoulder at the King and the scribe who seemed to be deep in conversation. For some odd reason the moon elf watched the dancer intently, which made his jealously flare up even more.

He was quite more attractive! How dare no one pay attention to him!

Velsir turned to Lysander and he raised a brow. "The scribe seems to like the dancer as well, do you think she's into women?", he asked with a laugh. He was currently thinking in his head.

They'd wait until Lysander managed to drink his drink, and hopefully he'd get sick. If anything he could call for a cheers to Lysander after the speech...

Velsir put down the bottle of wine he had grasped as he spoke, pouring it after he finished with his quick laugh. As the wine ran smoothly so did Velsir's thoughts. He could do this, he told himself, he was Mr.King, leader of his own guild of rogues, he had enough criminal in him to last this mission.

The High Chancellor angrily took a heavy swig of his drink, but quickly made sure to stick his pinky out to still maintain an air of high statue. "I have no idea what Eilis is into. Honestly, I thought the only thing she ever liked was her books." Though he glanced at the scribe once more - this time feeling rather uncomfortable while gazing at her cold grey eyes. It made him feel like a storm was coming.

The music began to die down slowly - just as Chione slowly closed her eyes and laid within the pit, bowing her head as if to say she was finished. The applause made her smile and look up directly at the king, then to Eilis and Lysander then finally...Velsir in which made her blush slightly as she got up, and bowed graciously.

"Zanks ye! Zanks ye all!" She kissed her hand and waved it, jumping out of the pit and bowing once more just as everyone began to be seated for the toasting.

Velsir still couldn't keep his eyes off of her, and then he realized he was to be seated and quickly sat down in the nearest seat, sighing in relief as he saved himself from an embarrassment.

She was extremely pretty after all, and had she blushed when she looked at him? The thought of it made him blush himself, he knew he was on a mission but this made him feel at ease. If he made it out of here alive then he'd hopefully be able to spend more time with Chione, Chi Chi.

That and his guild would be back in business.

With a smile he returned to reality.
