Chione couldn't help it really - she enjoyed watching the squirming.

The way their voices get higher as they tug harshly around their shirt collars - their eyes scanning her up and down for a reaction towards their peaked interest...

Thank god she has the best poker face.

Yet she serves them all with a smile - whistling happily as she twirls a pewter mug in both hands and sliding them under the tap with ease. She twist the little knob at the top with the loop of her leather pants, watching the mead flow freely to fill the mugs with her own sweet recipe - then switches the tap off and sliding the frothy beverages down the bar to the two young gentleman with a wink and a thumbs up.

She swore she heard one stop breathing for a moment..

Stretching languidly like a cat, she bends backwards just-so, perhaps showing her flexability a little more indecently then she should around such prepubescent company, but quite frankly she didn't give a damn. Grabbing her soft bar towel, she begins to switch the counter top down, continuing her whistling and just enjoying the ambiance of the other tavern patrons. Her golden eyes screened the door momentarily, waiting for it to open.

Once she heard the chime of the bell she grinned, saluting the new customer with a mug in hand.

"Tidings, Mellon! Welcome to the Speckled Feather! How can I serve you this fine afternoon?"

At the moment Velsir Morningred was planning his next move. A group of guards had come looking for him and his guild's hideout in Chalice Forest and they were pinned, the guard's camp not too far away. One of their thieves had been caught and interrogated, and the hideout was now surrounded.

A scout was sent off by the guards to inform the others of the hideout, yet another rogue managed to kill him before he got there without the guards knowing a thing.

It was a standoff, and both were deciding on what to do.

"Sir, shall we attack from the tunnels, as I suggested?", asked a man, who had earlier nearly lost his head. Velsir sighed and nodded, pointing towards a small band of rogues who were chatting in the corner. "Take them and go through the tunnels, dig your way to the surface and ambush them."

The guard that entered The Speckled Feather was quite angry. This caught Chione off guard as she put her bar towel down and placed her hands on her wide hips. "Is there a problem?"

The second guard came in next, as the first one smirked, "Not a problem here, at all - madam." he cheekily replied, looking a little more down south than where her actual face is located. The second guard kicked him in the back of the shin causing the first to wince, before strutting up to Chione over confidently.

"Yes, bar maid, there is a problem. Have you seen a band of thieves go through here?" the second guard practically barked.

Chione pursed her lips, already not liking this man as she glided around her counter, and leaning up against the front of it with her lower back. She nodded to the first guard with her eyes half lidded, knowing full well where his eyes were glancing at such a better angle, before looking over at the second guard with distaste.

"Thieves? What thieves?"

Pity, the second guard was much cuter than the first one, too.

As the guard engaged Chione a known thief was at the door, who suddenly widened his eyes as the first guard nearly saw him. He rested his hands on his daggers and looked at Chione with a glint in his eye.

The man was about to attack...

He was dressed in the standard Rogue's Guild uniform, dark clothing yet well armored at the same time, flexible and sturdy. The rogue bared a set of daggers that spiraled across his leggings, around forty daggers slipped into all of the sockets equally, only ten were real daggers, the rest were actually just shivs.

A Rogue's Guild member was trained, and he could easily take on these guards, but it would be hard to not make any noise... The thief waited for a thumbs up from Chione.

"Don't play coy with me half breed! We know about what you sell underneath this shit hole!" The first one dangerously murmured - looking at the other patrons as if he didn't want to be heard.

Chione kept her face blank as she wriggled her finger to the man behind the guard in greeting, "Do you now?" she knew that they have no proof, and therefore can't do anything about the bloodwine that she has in storage.

not taking her eyes off the first guard, she languidly stretched once more, getting up and sashaying her hips towards the first guard - making sure to make it quite a show before sliding her arms around his neck. "You should really learn how to be more like your friend here. He's much more polite."

She gently took the man's chin in her hand, tipping his head from side to side as if examining him. She could feel his heart race underneath her bosum before she whispered softly, "So, what's your name -general?"

Before he had a moment to reply, she grabbed his face and bashed it into the side of the counter, her eyes flashing dangerously at the thief behind the second guard to make a move.

The thief ran up in a mere second and the guard was already on the ground, blood falling from his back. The blades had worked their way into the man's spine, paralyzing him as the thief wrenched it deeper and yanked it out.

As the guard hit the ground he could do nothing as he blacked out from loss of blood.

With a sigh the thief then raised a health potion to the man's mouth, forcing it down. He didn't want a death sentence on his hands, as he already had two of them, for two other guards. Besides, the man couldn't do anything as he was unconscious and wouldn't do anything as he was clearly paralyzed.

"Velsir wants you", the rogue said with a grin as he kicked a citizen out of his way when he was angered by the attack. The man smashed into a wall. "And it's not to flirt either."

Chione pouted, "Why? I told him the next shipment would be in by thursday...." she sighed over dramatically, walking towards the back of the tavern to where her office was located, beckoning the thief to follow her. "Oi, Harald!"

The burly lumbering cook poked his head out from the kitchen, grunting.

"Take care of these men, would ya? Also - drinks on the house. Make sure the patrons uh, don't remember this mess." she threw a little pouch of herbs towards the cook, who grunted affirmatively before ducking back into the kitchen.

Opening her office door, Chione quickly rustled through some papers and shoved them into her traveling knapsack. Making sure to pack her fans, a couple of golden apples (her favorite!), and a bottle of bloodwine just for Velsir - she opened her window and whistled.

Through the window a Saker hawk flew, landing on her shoulder and nipping at her hair as if to say: 'about time!'

"Mithril, ack! Stop..." she laughed loudly, before throwing an apple at the thief within her doorway. "I assume you'll be leading the way?"

The thief face palmed as he caught it. "Yes I will, and it's not about the shipment. Guards have surrounded the hideout. Just.. follow..", the man said as he turned and began walking.

Eventually they'd reach the edge of the forest, and the fire of the campsite was already visible. Around fifty guards to take on the twenty nine members of the guild.

"Rorigan is leading an ambush, yet another batch of knights is coming from the northern camps they've set up because a scout hasn't been sent back.. well one has but we took care of him... It's going to be harder.."

He sighed and looked at Chione.

"Velsir said you'd help if an all out fight broke loose, he promises a pay triple the shipments if you lead the second group to ambush, you'd accompany him, of course."

"Mmm. Kinky." Chione laughed, as if she didn't have a care in the world. This was just her, of course. She makes sure to laugh at every situation.

"As much as I hate to be out of retirement, I suppose I could help out a friend." she smirks, "Does he ever talk about me by the way?"

She looked around the camp as her bird swiveled his head this way and that to examine the camp. It looked quite fresh - as if it was made in a hurry. Looking down at the foot prints she hummed, noticing the grooves that boots left previously behind. "Looks like you lot have quite a crisis on your hands."

The half-blood took out another golden apple - taking a huge bite before allowing her bird to peck the seeds. "Where is Velsir, anyway?"

"Preparing the second group, we were waiting for your answer. Once your ready I'll fire this flaming arrow that'll signify the beginning of the ambush.. and yes, Velsir tends to talk about you a lot..."

The thief looked over to Chione with a smile. "A lot. Well I'm one of his circle of trusted, so I guess it's normal for him to share secrets.. His diary tends to share them too."

They were waiting for her signal, and Velsir was ready to see Chione, as it's been awhile since he's seen her. The past few weeks Velsir had been holed up in his little guild quarters.

With a clearly fake annoyed sigh, she pulled out her fans and twirled them. "I guess." she tried to hold up an annoyed look on her face, but it just ended up falling apart with her scrunching her nose and letting out a snort of laughter.

Suddenly, as if something had struck her, she hissed loudly. "Mithril - Sii'!"

The hawk took off in a whirl of white and feathers, the elven woman breaking out into a full on grin as she watched him fly higher and higher. tilting her head to the side with a loud audible crack, she inclined her head towards the thief, her golden eyes flashing dangerously, which matched her predatorial grin. "Whenever you are ready, Hîr vuin."

The thief took a few deep breaths and fired his arrow, it launched across, flaming and burning bright. The thieves spotted it before the guards did and rushed the camp from the sides, quickly setting the tents ablaze, burning whoever inside alive. The first group was being annihilated, Rorigan retreating to join the second group.

The only group left entered a full scale battle with the guards, no deaths being taken in the first few seconds. That is until Velsir approached. He drew his blades and cut through the lines of the guards, impaling three quickly before he was surrounded and evaded around the guards to rejoin his men.

"Keep at it!", Velsir yelled, his words pushed his men's moral to the heavens, as he was strangely charming. He looked at Chione with a look that read 'Long time no see', and then tilted his head over to the guards, a message that said 'Help me kill these guys'.

The sheer sight of Chione made him blush, he was strangely attracted to her unlike he was to any other beautiful person, yet he kept his mind on the battlefield.

Knights rode in from the north, and his men were being pushed back.

The thief that had escorted Chione was gutted by a knight's lance, yet managed to stab the horse's throat. The horse's knees went weak and it fell forwards, crushing it's rider.

Chaos erupted everywhere, and the rogues needed Chione more then ever.

Admittingly, Chione always wished she was more graceful - but being a bounty hunter back in her day didn't give her such luxury. She didn't even bother to be behind any of the men as she grappled through, weaving her fans through the air in manners that she had practiced for years. Knocking one man down, she dug her boots' heel straight through his eye socket, before grabbing another and stabbing her fan through like a guillotine.

"Tolo!" she roared, hearing her bird let out a loud caw before watching him dive straight into a guard that was trying to get into the back lines with a bow. Talons shot out and grated into the man's throat before he dropped down dead. She was about to let out a yell in praise before she felt her hands suddenly being placed behind her back, causing her to scream and curse loudly.

"Leithio nin! Dôl gîn lost! Pe-channas!" she thrashed about, finally getting sick and tired of playing this game with the guard that had grabbed her.

She simply stopped moving, become dead weight which caused the guard to stumble, giving her enough room for her to wriggle out of his grasp and fling her heel into his groin. She heard the puncturing as he squealed loudly - making her laugh.

This is the most fun she's had in years!

Velsir ran up beside her and blocked an arrow that would've hit her with a nearby guard, the projectile hurtling into his forehead. "How do you do?", he asked Chione as he ran a guard through the neck before the guard could impale Velsir with his blade, just an inch below the rogue's chest.

"I've missed you, Chi-Chi". Chi Chi was Velsir's personal nick name for the lady.

He winked as he blocked a few attacks from a nearby officer, fending off his blade for a while only to kick him back into a tree. Velsir groaned and swung his blades to the right of him, blocking an attack from a recruit who he disarmed.. literally cutting off his hands, sending the man flying back in pain and anguish against a tree.

Velsir then turned and impaled the rising officer against the tree. He then yanked the blades free.

She kneed one guard right in the stomach, watching him keel over as she vaulted over his back and jumped straight onto another guardsman's back. Punching the lawman in the back of the head, she stood up and twirled right next to Velsir - grinning. "Quite well - serving mead, helping your sorry ass - the usual."

She threw an apple into the air and watched a few guardmen watch it dangerously, using the distraction as leverage when she pulled a couple of throwing knives out of her boot and flinging them with precision.

She noticed the numbers dwindling now as she tackled another guard, punching him in the jaw and winking at the guard before choking him.

"I'd love to help yours", Velsir said with a grin, kicking another guard. His men were pushing them out of the forest, and guards were one by one retreating, only to be shot down by an archer.

The thieves began to win, if not for another regiment of knights to come. The guard's number was around fifty when it had dropped to ten, and the thieves were down to thirteen members, a heavy blow.

"Damnit, they've brought magi..."

Chione snorted at his original comment, before scrunching her face up in displeasure. "Aye..I hate the mages." she quickly resided next to Velsir, having her back against him. "Have any ideas?"

She cawed towards Mithril who was already within the skies. His loud screech indicated it wouldn't be long now for the reinforcements to show up.

"I can take a few newling guards, Mellon...I don't know how well I would do against ones of the arcana." Chione eyed the other rogues, taking note on some looked quite fatigued. She herself was tired, and as much as she'd hate to admit - out of shape. It's been a while since she's been out on the field. Though she was a master at acting like nothing was wrong.

She sheathed her fans for a moment as her ear twitched in displeasure. The could feel the crackle in the air that indicated the disturbance of magi was afoot, much to her displeasure.

"After this, I need a back massage." she muttered.

"I can take out the mages, just make sure our men hold off those guards.. And I'd be glad to give you one after this, Chi Chi.", he said with a laugh.

Velsir seemed less stressed like he used to seem, when he was busy with a large guild, but ever since the shortage of members and the increase of income he seemed almost careless, as if he was focused on something else.

Velsir disappeared into the thicket of the forests and the guards rushed at the thieves, who were barely holding them back, and looked to Chione for leadership.

The magi were raining fire down upon the forest, and it began to spread, only to be put out by a few other thieves.

"WHAT? I but-" it was too late, he was already gone, as per usual. Chione growled lowly. "For the love of...VELSIR."

She looked at the other rogues for a moment, and then towards the reinforcements that were coming. Her eyes darted this way and that within the recent surroundings.

"Okay boys, listen! This is what we're gonna do!" She pointed at the trees, "Everyone, up in the trees - get your bows out and don't be seen!" she then, pointed to the original thief that lead her here, considering he was the only one she recognized by face. "You. Pretend your holding me hostage. Hold your knife to my neck."

Glancing at the surrounding area once more, she bit her lip before turning back to the other men. "What are you waiting for?! NOW."

She watched them scatter as she started to warm up her vocals. Some of the rogues could swear they heard her murmer 'Red leather, yellow leather' as well as some other weird phrases before she snuggly was in the arms of the thief that had helped her before.

Taking a deep breath, she waited for the sounds of metal and heavy feet to get closer - before letting out a loud shriek.

"HELP." She wailed, "I can't - he has a knife! PLEASE." she started to wheeze, big fat tears rolling down her cheeks as she pretended to struggle.

The guards stopped and threatened him repeatedly, "Put her down or we put you down!", "Let her go, cutpurse, or we'll execute you!", "This is going on your record!"

The thief glared and flashed the blade of the dagger towards them, turning it as he pushed it ever so slightly against her neck.

The entire guard was here, and the magi had disappeared, probably because of Velsir, no doubt about it. The fire had stopped raining yet the remaining flames burned on.

One seemed like he was about to suggest that this was an ambush.

Chione whimpered pathetically, letting the last of her tears fall before looking at the guard that seemed like he wanted to help her - her eyes golden, and glassy.

"Please...I'm not as strong as you are...help me.." she whispered letting out a little moan as she pretended to struggle once more, before looking into the sky.

Her bird soared a little lower, letting go of something that seemed to be in between his talons. The guards watched the falling object in confusion - which caused the infamous Chione DuCairne, ex bounty hunter extraordinaire - to smirk.

"Fools."

The arrows began to hail from the trees like a zinging death song. She didn't even flinch when many arrows began to pierce through skull and bone. In fact, she couldn't help but let out a laugh in glee as they all began to fall - the back line coiling back in horror only to get arrows through the backs of their legs making it impossible to escape. This is the part she liked best. The part that no one expected. She knew there were downsides - and the very reason she quit was because of them, but nothing can beat the thrill of a beautiful plan going through. The beautiful precision. This to her, was poetry. Like a warm bubble bath, or a great joke.

Practically all of them were dead before the apple core hit the ground.

Velsir emerged from behind the corpses with a smile. He waved at Chione with a nearly dead mage at his side, who he slashed through whilst staring at her.

"Well sorry our little reunion had to be over something like this...", the "Herald of Nellus" said whilst scratching the back of his head, looking at all the dead bodies. "But uhm, I got your payment if you want it, it's in the hideout..."

She grunted, looking over her shoulder at the thief that she had help her. "You can let go now."

Stepping forward and rubbing her neck, she glared with Velsir with a fierce intensity. "Mind telling me why so many guards were after you? Some of these men paid me years ago!"

Mithril swooped and landed on her shoulder gracefully as she placed her hands on her hips. A little trickle of blood emerged from her neck but she seemed to not have noticed.

"You're getting careless, Mellon. That was almost too many men to try to keep this place a secret from. Hopefully none escaped to give away your location."

"All the runners were killed, I assure you. The bodies will be left to the gully dwarves. And I know I'm getting careless, honestly I...", he started, sighing. Velsir walked up to Chione with a sigh. "I don't know if I can do this anymore, thinking about it I'd just die earlier if I kept going in this game, but at the same time I don't want to abandon my family."

"I know this guild can handle.. but can it's leader?"
