the Island of Thule

Rules:
1. I expect literacy from you. Be able to put a sentence together properly.
2. No one liners-- there is a two paragraph minimum per post.
3. I'm not saying you have to post everyday, but a few times a week would be nice. Please don't express interest if you can't meet this requirement. I know that things come up, and that's not what I'm talking about here.
4. Be polite and respectful. If you can't manage this, you will be kicked, and YC will be killed off. (ha.)
5. This is NOT first come, first serve. There will be a writing sample required in the CS.
6. Romance isn't a must, but it's encouraged/enjoyed by most. (Note, I said most). But don't break RPN's rules. Fade to black if needed.
7. Be mature. Not saying this RP is going to break RPN's rules, but i'm saying there may be mature topics/triggers. Do not bash anyone's character or anything like that.
8. On the topic of triggers, please be respectful. Do some research if you have to. Triggers are nothing to take lightly, and if someone gets upset, don't bash them for getting upset. Warn us if your post or character has triggers/trigger warnings.
9. If you have an issue with someone, come to me or my co-gm first. Or be a big person and actually talk to them about it.

Plot:
Planes have been around for years. They're a trusted form of travel, convenient and generally quicker than driving or other means of getting from point A to point B. Tickets can be pretty expensive, but the convenience is worth it, right? Whatever your reason for getting on this plane, wherever you have to go, you find yourself at the airport at an ungodly hour, ready to board. You make it through security and find your seat. Ready or not, the plane is moving towards the airstrip, gaining speed and before you know it, you're in the air. Everything is going smoothly.

Until you hit some slight turbulence. The plane is rocking back and forth, but it stills after a moment. But then you hit another patch. This turbulence doesn't let up. People are starting to panic. The oxygen masks drop down from overhead, and the captains voice comes over the loudspeaker, announcing that you should put them on but "everything is going to be fine, folks." That's the last thing you remember.

Until you wake up on an island, on the beach. Your plane has crashed. Are there other survivors? Are you alone? Your plane lays shredded in pieces down the beach, but there are others coming to as well. You all stand, check for injuries, and join together. You have to find a way to survive until you can get back to civilization.

But this island isn't all that it seems. It's alive with all sorts of creatures, some normal and some you never dreamed existed. Mermaids, elves, fae, and so much more. These creatures have lived here, on the island of Thule, for as long as any of them can remember. This is their home, and you are intruding on their territory. Some of them may be curious about you, but the majority of them just want their home back.

In a scenario of humans vs the supernatural, can the humans make it back home? Will the supernaturals get their home back? Will the humans want to leave, once they learn what's really living here?

~ALL of the supernatural creatures have a humanoid form, due to the magic of the island. Meaning that the unicorns (goblins, sprites, etc.) turn into humans, as do any other creatures that aren't humanoid. It is something they can control. But the creatures keep one trait of their true form, even as a human. (I.e.: for unicorns, they keep their horn).
~The mermaids on this island are able to grow legs and walk on land (means of disguise, and it's just how they are). But if they get wet, their tail will come back. That they cannot control.
~Don't forget to tell us which role you'd be interested in when you express interest!

I'm interested in playing either a Human or Mermaid, if you're still looking that is!

Feel free to make a cs! I think we are in need of a few more humans at this point, but whatever you decide to do (:

Interested!
And I can be a faerie, mermaid, or human - whatever you need.
