*You will not be added to the OOC until your character has been submitted, reviewed, and accepted. *

PM me if you have questions!

RULES:

1. The main one. Respect RPN and its rules.

2. Any questions or intrigue about the plot or story come to me! I love hearing ideas even if we don't incorporate them.

3. OOC will be friendly and respectful. IC be extra and add flair all you'd like BUT...

4. BE REASONABLE. Realistically adapt and grow into characters and make logical choices. You can control weather? Know that you will not begin with master powers or creating storms at will. Go into a very secure elite Army base tossing bullets alone? Your IC has ended lol.

5. I do not mind if you guys subplot romance. Just keep it PG-13.

6. Try to have UNIQUE characters. For some reason people love power based characters. As much interest as this RP go to I can tell you now EVERYONE WILL NOT MAKE IT if everyone is OP. If you want to make a combat character go ahead just flesh them out. I will not begin approval process until I see and feel good about your CS sheet.

7. If you didn't know from the InCheck, the process for selecting characters will be CHOSEN BY YOU so don't ask me for any request if you get denied please.

8. If you cannot post due to IRL or other reasons please post in consideration of everyone else. I'm interpreting this RP to go relatively fast pace wise not too speedy, so if you need assistance ask and you shall receive! And...

9. If you do fall too far behind or get in a hole you cant climb out of that doesn't mean you're done for. Unless you're intentionally a jerk or going against the tide of the plot, you can get back up to pace.

10. If you band together, or fight amongst each other IC, coordinate with each other as I will be overseeing those situations with a final outcome, but stay true to character and abilities. Don't force it just because you wanna "be great"

11. HAVE FUNNNNNNNN!!!!!

12. This is a VERY real based universe. NO CARTOON or ANIME pics whatsoever. Digital Art and Realistic Concept Art are acceptable as well as real face claims and pictures.

13. Now, if you read, accept, and understand all rules: At the end of your CS phase, write a sentence mentioning a DC comics location in a fashion that would be true to your character. !! REMEMBER THIS RULE !!

Wonder Woman’s powers are a result of the blessings she received from the gods (or presumably in the modern version by her divine ancestry). Her abilities in large part come from her upbringing in the martial society of the Amazons.

Superhuman Strength
She is capable of lifting/carrying thousands of tons with minimal effort. She can remove her bracelets and go into a "berzerker rage" of power. This unleashes her true power which must be restrained at all times for her sake.

Superhuman Speed
Granted by Hermes (God of Messengers), her top speed has never been fully documented, but she has entered the speed force under her own power, implying she can accelerate to at least light speed, however not capable of utilizing the Speed Force for her own synergy thus cannot exceed light speed. She's capable of going faster than hypersonic speed. She can disarm human opponents of their weapons instantly and she can immobilize her opponents in the blink of an eye. She is such a well trained athlete that in combat, her reflexes even surprise the likes of the Gods.

Invulnerability/Durability
Granted by Demeter (Goddess of the Earth), she is immune to radiation and the coldness of space; she also possesses a high level of resistance against fire and high temperatures, she has been shown taking fire, lava, thermonuclear explosions, etc. However, her invulnerability has a vulnerable point against piercing weapons & bullets. Wonder Woman can fight with considerable damage in the form of hand to hand combat with opponents such as Gods. Wonder Woman possesses a high resistance to damage and magical attacks. Also she is self-sufficient in the fact that she does not have to eat or sleep and could hold her breath under water for hours and hours.

Immortality
Because of her divine nature, Diana doesn't age much at all, nor she can be affected by earthy disease. She is virtually immortal unless killed by powerful beings or weapons.

Flight
Granted by Hermes, the Greek patron of messengers and thieves, this ability allows her to fly at fast speeds. Wonder Woman is able to fly at hyper-sonic speeds.

Healing Factor
Granted by Demeter (Goddess of Earth). In the rare instance when Wonder Woman is harmed, her body heals from any injury near instantly without scarring.

Divine Wisdom
Granted by Athena (Goddess of Wisdom), this gives her a degree of wisdom beyond that of most mortals and gives her a strong moral sense. When she first showed up in man's world, she learned enough English language to converse with others in a few hours only. This also aids her in her tactical ability. She is among the smartest and wisest members in the universe.

Super Stamina/Agility
Wonder Woman can fight till she drops dead, she does not need to rest. Wonder Woman's agility is on a super-human level.

Great Beauty
Although not a real power in itself, she received a blessing of great beauty from Aphrodite. This makes her alluring and sensually a magnet to those that look at her, using them for beneficial advantages.

Enhanced Senses
Granted by Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt). Eyesight, hearing, taste, touch and smell are all on super-human level. She has exceptional hearing and night vision, and has even shown the ability to track her enemies by scent in some instances (especially in natural environments). Wonder Woman has the (Hunters Eyes) which allows her to always hit her mark and see far distances.

Other Assorted Divine Powers
For a time she was given enhanced vision by Athena, which gave her the ability to see in darkness and through illusions. This also makes her resistant/immune to telepathy. Due to her wisdom she can learn languages faster than a regular person, she can talk to animals. She has also been shown to project herself astrally in order to commune with the gods and ask for special favors from them.

Martial Combat
She is trained in the a variety of martial arts, making her a master of unarmed and armed combat (even proving adept with pistols). Even when depowered, she is on par with some of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the Universe.

Lasso of Truth
The Lasso of Truth forces people to tell the truth. It was forged by Hephaestus from the Golden Girdle of Gaea that Antiope had once worn. It is able to restore people's lost memories get rid of illusions or cause illusions to those it holds and heal the holder's body cure insanity and protect people who are in close proximity to it from magical attacks. This trait also affected Wonder Woman. A non-combat application of the lasso is that it can be used to change Diana's clothes as long as those clothes are "in the right frequency" as the lasso. The lasso is essentially indestructible, and can be offensively used in combat to incapacitate, and even attacking their souls.

Bracelets of Victory
These are a pair of steel cuffs that are indestructible because they were created from the remains of Zeus’s Aegis shield. Wonder Woman can use her super reflexes to deflect projectiles, blades, punches, or any form of offensive attack used against her (including Darkseid’s Omega Beams). She can also use them to deflect an object back into her enemies. When Diana crosses them to protect her from impact with larger projectiles as well as damage inflicted by explosions and collisions with hard surfaces, the bracelets generate a small energy shield. In recent events, Diana has learned how to emit a devastating magic lightning attack from her bracelets do to their link with Zeus. This attack can even strike Gods and Goddesses down with a powerful strike, and this attack can even work underwater. In the golden age these were items of submission meant to control Amazons. If they were removed from an Amazon, she would launch into an uncontrollable rage, releasing her full power (this was a plot device which subdued many foes, among them the Crimson Centipede). Also during this era, if they were bound together by a man, all her powers were lost, this was only true in the Golden Age. With the launch of the new 52 the golden age bracelets are brought back. Wonder Woman removes her bracelets and go into a "berzerker rage" of power. Wonder Woman's bracelets are what protects her opponents from her intense power in the New 52.

Royal Tiara
Her tiara is razor sharp and can be used so as to return to her when thrown.
Wonder_Woman_Movie_Tiara_Cuff_Set_4_480x480.jpg

Martial Weapons
Diana is depicted as quite skilled in a number of martial weapons. She has shown to be adept with swords, battle axes and spears. She tends to favour swords though in particularly difficult fights. Her knowledge of martial weapons extends to other less conventional weapons, including broken bottles. Her Shield is one of her favorite go to's for weaponry.

Magical Sword

TY-ICH-162602-CA.jpg

On occasions Wonder Woman has employed a magical sword of unknown (though presumably Amazon) origin. This sword has been used most specifically against things with the power of invulnerability or magical signature. It is generally represented as a short sword.

War suits (or uniform)
Over the years she has had a number of different suits, one which is specified for war.

(Current Suit in Appearance Section)

Background:

Diana was born circa 1495 on the island of Themyscira to Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, mere months after the War of the Gods. As the only child on the entire island, it was harder for her to enjoy more childlike activities. To which, she soon took an active interest in the Amazon's combat training, even with her mother's stern refusal of it. Despite this, her aunt Antiope, knowing the true nature of Diana's background and caring so deeply for her well-being, began training the young princess herself in secret. Diana was raised in paradise, hearing tales of her races' great task of defeating and banishing the God of War, Ares, and bringing peace to the world, ushering in a new era of peace to the world. Upon coming of age, Diana began pursuing the life of a warrior and advent, despite her mother's rejections. Once her mother discovered the girl's martial prowess and desire to serve the world to both reveal and protect it, she began to actively attempt to constrain Diana and her potency to Themyscira. Torn between a mission to promote peace and her own warrior upbringing, Diana fought to seek and eliminate evil left behind by the darker gods, while hoping to unlock the potential of a humanity she doesn’t always understand.

Once her mother and the rest of the Amazons saw her ambition, she knew Diana must proceed to walk her own path, especially since she was like no other Amazon in history. Diana did not know of her true heritage then, and maybe even now she truly doesn't even fully grasp the power of her lineage. Diana has been the silent enforcer throughout a conventional and relative world. Seeing the most pristine places, the rarest relics, studying at the most prestigious academic locations, delving in the most unique cultures, and experiencing the various souls Earth has had to offer. Conversely, she'd seen her fare share of injustices, the most brutal wars, and most vile events of mankind. This was what her people warned her about, the malices of humanity. It's there that Diana struggles with the grips of yin vs yang, good vs bad. She can only hope to use her gifts as a radiating light to influence others to use their light as well, and so she has traversed time and land to help save them.

But in the current day, a feeble knowledge of the greater unknown, mankind is limited to their sins and own personal advances. They are unaware of the greater truth, but with the arising of a new era for mankind, Diana cannot help but feel the imminent arrival of that truth coming to breach the awareness of mankind. A truth they may not be ready for. A truth that Diana may need to save them from. Truth was her entire essence. Quite literally.

"There will never be a place in my heart as beautiful as Themyscira... it is an oasis & paradise wrapped into heaven's arms."

basics
Name: Charles Victor Szasz
Aliases: Race: Human
Age: 36 years old
Gender: Male
Occupation: Investigative Journalist, Daily Planet / Vigilante
[/div]

[div class=textbox]
personal
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Affiliations: Daily Planet

Personality: On the whole, Vic Sage projects an unfailing aura of enigmatic calm. Almost impossible to surprise, he has a quip for nearly every occasion and can dig up dirt on just about anyone. As a reporter, it's his job to be an exceedingly curious person, one that likes to ask a lot of questions to the point of being needlessly nosey, but he doesn’t like answering that many questions about himself. He can talk all day long about politics and the news, but as soon as the conversation steers towards more personal questions, he'll divert. His laid-back demeanor hides a shrewd mind, and whatever he doesn't know about his comrades or his enemies probably isn't worth knowing anyways. Even so, there are very few that he considers friends, because if working on the other side of the law has taught him anything, it's that he must rely and trust only himself.

Ruthlessness and pragmatism are some of the Question's more prominent, and as some would argue, worst characteristics. He's not above killing or using torture to attain his goals, though he'll refrain from doing either if he doesn't need to, and never to those who don't deserve it.

Backstory: Victor Sage was born Charles Victor Szasz, and grew up an orphan who had a reputation as a troublemaker. Szasz prided himself in defiantly enduring the physical abuse of the Catholic orphanage where he was housed. Though he managed to get into college, higher learning did not mellow his violent tendencies. In his first summer reprieve from college, he brutally beat a drug dealer for giving him LSD, which had caused Sage to doubt his own senses under its influence.

Faced with financial troubles, Vic very nearly dropped out of college but a professor named Aristotle Rodor stepped in, helping him apply for student loans and grants that would help him finish his education. Rodor would even let Victor live in a spare room of his own home. After graduating from Metropolis University (where he nursed an unrequited crush on fellow student Lois Lane), Sage made his mark as a highly outspoken and aggressive reporter for the Daily Planet.

Some time later, Vic was once again approached by his old professor, Aristotle Rodor. Tot came to him scared and confused after his two co-inventors of a prototype skin graft substitute had turned up dead in mysterious accidents. When Vic learned that Tot’s attempts to go to the police were hampered by a U.S. Senator whose election campaign was being funded by the same pharmaceutical company interested in buying the rights to the formula, Vic’s righteous fury and insatiable curiosity got the better of him. Tot designed a mask using a modified variant of the same prosthetic (called Pseudoderm) to cover Vic’s facial features. What Vic uncovered in a manner of nights exposed a grand conspiracy that -- when exposed -- resulted in the resignation of three U.S Senators and solved thirteen murder cases, even freeing four men wrongfully convicted of those crimes.

With his first venture a success, Sage decided that this new identity would be useful for future investigations. He continued to work with Professor Rodor, who supplied the Pseudoderm and eventually modified the bonding gas, giving it the ability to alter the color of Sage's hair and clothing, as well. The Question's early crime fighting career was somewhat successful, but his black-and-white moral viewpoint and lack of commitment would soon lead to a turning point for both Sage and his alter ego.

After his time in Metropolis, Vic Sage returned to Hub City and KBEL television, where he worked alongside news anchor and occasional love-interest Myra Connelly. During a mission as The Question, he was badly beaten in personal combat by the mercenary and martial artist, Lady Shiva, and then nearly fatally beaten by her employer's thugs and shot in the head with a pellet gun. Though he was thrown in a river to drown, Shiva rescued him for reasons of her own and gave him directions to meet Richard Dragon as soon as he was recovered enough to get out of bed. Sage sought out the master martial artist, who retained all of his skill even while confined to a wheelchair. Sage spent a year learning martial arts and Eastern philosophy from Dragon. The training changed and deepened The Question's moral perspective, and the crimefighter became more understanding of the moral ambiguity of his chosen work.

Vic Sage returned to Metropolis and his his career as The Question with a new, broader worldview, and a belief that crime had to be fought at more than one level.
[/div]

[div class=textbox]
physical
Appearance: At 6'2", Vic stands head and shoulders above your average civilian. Rigorous training under Richard Dragon's wing has left him in excellent shape and remarkable strength. With immaculate, dark-reddish hair and sky-blue eyes, seemingly flawless skin, a strong jaw and sharp chin, Vic had been the perfect face for the television.

As the Question, most of those features vanish under the mask. The bonding gas dyes his hair black and leaves his face blank and empty. He favors wide-brimmed fedoras and overcoats, riddled with hidden pockets.

Gear:
  • Pseudoderm: An experiment of Aristotle Rodor, designed to be used as a seamless, skin-like bandage for medical use, though it was canned once the material was found to be toxic on open wounds. Years later, it was repurposed and given to Vic Sage by Rodor in the form of a mask. The mask perfectly hides the features of its wearer, making it seem as though his face is non-existent, and completely covered in skin. It does not impede breathing or eyesight, and is easily concealable when not worn.

Skills:
  • Skilled Combatant: Vic is adept at hand-to-hand combat, his fighting style mostly consisting of a combination of Dragon Kung-Fu and boxing. In addition to this, he is known to do anything to win a fight, including using objects within the environment as weapons and resorting to dirty tricks.
  • Genius: Vic is highly intelligent, being able to use this intellect to decipher codes and ciphers, hack into computer terminals and other electronics, and plan strategies.
  • Master Detective: Vic is a brilliant investigator, able to spot even the smallest of details and make deductions from minuscule evidence.
  • Interrogation: His opponents often fear him due to the (arguably true) rumors of his ruthless tactics.
  • Indomitable Will: Vic has a resolve of steel; if he sets his mind to something, he does it. All of it. This allows him to resist torture and any other attempts to break his mind or spirit. This doesn't mean that he can take punishment for long without passing out or even dying; only that he won't give in to it.
Weaknesses:
  • Glass Jaw: Unlike his metahuman comrades, Vic is just a normal human. He still needs to eat, drink, and sleep. He is not fast enough to dodge bullets or endurant enough to shrug off stab wounds and broken bones, and he is not strong enough to make holes in concrete walls; he's just a normal man trying to do good.
  • Horrible with others: The Question is fiercely independent and has difficulty working with others. He'll do it out of necessity of course, though he'll rarely play by rules that aren't his.
  • Bad Rep: Vic is known for being somewhat of a crackpot, and others usually avoid him because of this. Of course, this reputation is warranted, due to his paranoid nature, ruthlessness bordering on psychopathy, and anti-social attitude. People are hesitant to work with him and slow to trust him.
