Amber moved around her house picking up everything she thought she would need for tonight and placed it into a rucksack. So far she had torches, a pack of cards, a blanket and some snacks. To be honest, Amber didn't really know what she'd need other than alcohol but Matt was currently out getting their alcohol before coming to collect her. Amber was very excited for tonight, she's wanted to go to this house for a while and it was her idea so she hoped everyone would have fun. Amber pulled out her phone and checked the time it was 6.15pm she had planned for everyone to meet at the entrance of the woods at around 6.30 to give them enough time. Hearing a car horn from outside Amber grabbed her bag and ran to the door "Bye Mom, Love you!" She shouted before running out the door and into the Matthews car.
Matthew smiled as Amber ran out of the house and jumped into the car and huge grin plastered on her face. She looked like a child coming down to Santa's presents on Christmas morning. "So are you excited?" He asked although the answer was fairly obvious. "Extremely" Amber replied as Matthew reversed out of the drive and made his way towards the meeting place. "I got a lot of alcohol, wasn't sure who would bring some and who would need some" Matthew informed Amber "A litre of vodka and a two crates of beer" Amber grinned hearing the quantity of alcohol. "Sounds perfect, I brought snacks and cards" Amber replied which made Matthew laugh at his cousin. "Going all out so you are" He joked.
At 6.30 Matthew and Amber pulled up at the meeting place. Matt parked the car in the first spot he saw, as soon as the car stopped Amber jumped out of the car and leaned against the boot of the car, while they waited for the others to arrive.
Maria sat in the passenger seat of her mother's car, reading through one of her medical textbooks. She saw her mother reach to turn up the volume of the car stereo and groaned before closing the book. "Seriously, mum..." she complained, resting the book flat on her lap before looking out of the window.
"No reading when you're with your friends, Maria. You need to relax and have fun," her mother said, smiling. "Get drunk and party, for a change. You study too much."
As the car pulled up at the meeting spot, Maria could see a couple of her friends had already arrived. Mrs. Hawthorne waved at them out of the window. "Have fun, kids!" she shouted. Maria would have been embarrassed, but she never was one to care about her street cred and her mother was always friendly with Maria's friends. As Maria retrieved her large rucksack from the car boot, she heard her mother shout out to remind her to get the shopping back she'd packed with alcohol for her daughter. Shaking her head, Maria reluctantly lifted out the bag of alcohol too.
"Bye, mum!" she called back as she approached Amber and Matthew. She heard her mother begin driving away and stopped to wave her off before turning back to her friends. "Hi guys," she greeted them with a smile. "Mum really wants me to get drunk," she noted as she placed the shopping bag down on the ground for the time-being.
Nathan Flynn
Not long after, the sound of motorcycle-scooter could be heard a short distance away. Just as it came into the distant view, the vehicle stopped and Nathan climbed off. He began fumbling in his rucksack to retrieve his camera and began taking photographs of a group of squirrels in the nearby trees. Once finished, he realised he'd practically abandoned his scooter in the road, so hurried back onto it before it caused any problems for the the road users. He then continued riding to the meeting point.
As he parked the scooter, in a fashion, and then climbed off, he approached his friends. "I'm going to get so many good shots here," he announced as he removed the helmet from his head. "And are we all ready to have fun?!" he excitedly asked.
While they waited Alex rooted through her bag and pulled out a cigarette placing it to her lips as she lit it, she took a deep inhale before letting the smoke out in hoops watching it float up into the air. "Smoking is going to kill you" Matthew told her and Amber laughed "Everything will kill you if you give it enough time" Amber replied matter-of-factly, She turned to see Matthew roll his eyes and smirk at her response. Amber went to speak when she heard the sound of the car approaching them. Amber looked up to see Maria getting out of the car. "Maria!" She greeted as she hugged the girl "Yes you need to get drunk" She laughed as she looked at the shopping bag "Did your mam get you that?" She asked. Amber heard the sound of someone else approaching and looked up in time to see Nathan approaching, she watched as Matthew greeted him before she ran over and gave him a hug "I'm so excited, It's going to be so fun and Maria is getting drunk" She teased the last bit as she looked back at Maria.
Matthew rolled his eyes at Ambers retort that everything will kill you, she was right though everything will kill you, sure every minute you live is another minute close to death. Matthew shook out the morbid thoughts out of his head and looked up just in time to see Maria walk over to them "Hey Maria" He greeted her and laughed at her comment of how she was supposed to get drunk tonight, He opened the boot of the car to show the quantity of alcohol that he had brought "getting drunk won't be a problem" He laughed. Only a few minutes later, Matthew watched as Nathan rocked up on his scooter "Hey man" He walked towards Nathan and gave him a "man" handshake. "Yeah I say it the perfect place for pictures" He said. Suddenly he felt someone push past him and looked to see Amber hugging Nathan, he laughed at her excitement, Amber had always been a hugger so he was sure the rest of the group were used to her over excitement at this stage, at least he hoped they were.
At first, Maria was taken aback by Amber's hug, but she soon relaxed and hugged her friend in return. "Hey, Amber," she pleasantly greeted her. Glancing to the shopping bag, she bit her lip and slowly nodded her head. "Yeah, my mum bought it all. Honestly, I sometimes think she wants to have fun and get drunk more than I do. But mostly, she's fed up of seeing me studying around the house," she admitted. She always found it crazy that her parents encouraged her to party rather than have her safe at home being sensible.
"Hi, Matthew!" she greeted him in return. When he opened the car boot to show her all of the alcohol he brought, she let our a nervous laugh. She'd hoped she'd get away with having her friends drink most of the alcohol she'd brought with her, but seeing the amount Matthew had brought unfortunately meant there was even more to go around. "Oh wow... you guys are prepared," she noted. Her attention was then drawn to Nathan as he rode towards them on his scooter. Most people had more energy than she did, but Nathan was especially super-upbeat.
"Amber!" Nathan screeched as she hugged him. He tightly hugged her in return, lifting her off the ground a little in the process. He then released her so he could shake Matthew's hand. "Hey Matthew," he returned his greeting, controlling his excitement a little. "I'm going to photograph the shit out of this place!" he enthusiastically announced. He then looked to Maria as he processed what Amber said about her getting drunk. "Maria is getting drunk?! Yes! This is going to be awesome." he said, pulling a hesitant Maria in for a hug. He eventually released her and looked around, taking in his surroundings. "So, when are the others due?" he asked.
Kai Clarke
Location - Coffee Shop
Mentioned - Open
Having packed the night before, Kai was ready to go in the morning. He woke to an alarm and yelling of his so called father. None of the others knew about his family situation because he'd yet to mention it and probably would never mention it as the fear of his father was real and not one he liked to confront. The fear of his father was the only reason he was going with his friends up there in the first place. He didn't want to be alone.
He got up, stretching and walked to the shower. He washed and sprayed himself with Axe before taming his hair and shaving what little stubble he had. He went back to his bedroom and changed into a gray t-shirt, some black jeans, a pair of Vans and his burgundy hoodie. His usual outfit. He was happy with his look as he didn't have to impress anyone.
He put his guitar case on his back and tightened his messenger bag around his body. He walked downstairs and past the living room, hearing random slurs and alcohol talk from his father. He ignored it and looked at himself one more time in the mirror. The bruise from a few weeks ago finally went down so he wouldn't have to wear anymore make up, thank god. He hated it. He then left and began his journey to the coffee shop at the end of his road where he'd wait for the others. He sent a message through their group chat for someone to pick him up as he didn't have a drivers license and just couldn't drive at all. He hoped they'd actually pick him up though unlike a few months back when no one did after that party.
Amber laughed at Maria's comment about her mother "You have loads of time to study and read in the future, just try let loose and have fun tonight" Amber suggested, she sounded more sincere and motherly as she spoke, the joking and teasing tones from earlier left her voice as she smiled at Maria. Amber grinned as Nathan picked her up and laughed at the excitement he showed at Maria getting drunk. When Nathan asked what time everyone was due, Amber shrugged and checked her phone "Hopefully soon, I can't wait to go" She announced.
Matthew grinned at Maria's comment as he looked at the selection of drink then back to her "It's always good to be prepared, although I didn't factor in carrying it from the car to the house" He sheepishly smiled before pointing at his cousin "And Amber will be no help with that". Hearing everything like she usually does, Amber turned from Nathan to stare at Matthew with a deathly look "Hey, I will help" She said "I'll carry the vodka" She laughed before looking at her phone. Matthew looked at Nathan when he spoke and grinned "Yeah I say you'll get a lot of good picture up here". When Amber announced that everyone should be hear soon Matthew checked his phone to see a message from Kai "Shit" He mumbled before texting Kai back asking if he had already sorted a lift or if he still needed one. The coffee shop wasn't a far drive so he didn't mind driving back to get him

Kai saw that Matthew was the one to text him back. He smiled at the message from his friend and gave him a half truth, that he was going to get an uber but he was broke so he couldn't. Sure, he was broke but he just sort of hoped someone would pick him up, preferably someone attractive. He sent the message and put his phone away before ordering a hot cocoa to go. He took his order a few seconds later and payed with what little money he had and waited outside for someone to pick him up.
Steve Freeling was glad he didn't have to work today, which gave him time to prepare. His flashlight was already in the glove box, where he always kept it. He wore a long-sleeved gray T-shirt as well as a pair of Levi Strauss blue jeans and a pair of white New Balance sneakers. He took a dark brown leather bomber jacket from the closet, took some bottles of beer from the refrigerator and stuffed some mini-bags of potato chips and peanuts into a backpack and a Swiss army knife into one of the jacket's pockets before opening the front door.
"I'm gonna go do something with the guys. I'll be back later."
"Okay, Steve."
"Okay, Dad."
The voices of his wife and daughter rang out as he closed the door behind him before heading out to his black 1995 Ford Escort. Once inside, he closed his seat belt, and turned the key in the ignition before producing a cell phone and dialing a number.
"Ready to go do this thing?
"Yes, I am ready to go do this fucking idiotic thing." Bernard Osterman said on the other end of the line.
"Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Don't fucking bother." Beep.
"Asshole." Steve muttered as he pulled out of the driveway and began the drive to the meeting place.
When he made it there, Bernie wasn't far behind. Steve glared at him for his rudeness over the phone before opening the glove box and putting the flashlight into one of his jacket's pockets before opening the car's door and slinging the backpack over his shoulder and closing the door again. Steve walked toward his friends. "Hey, guys."
Bernie looked over Steve's friends with disdain. Fucking idiots, he thought silently, I could rob all of them blind.
It only took a few seconds before Steve noticed and stalked over to where Bernie stood. I can't let this go any further. That was when Steve stood to his full height, grabbed Bernie by the shoulder and involuntarily pointed his index finger at the slightly shorter man.
Not long after, Steve said calmly, though his facial expression gave him away, and just loud enough for Bernie to hear him, "Let me tell you something, you son of a bitch. They might not know who you are, but I do and if you try anything on them, so help me God, if you don't die in this house tonight, you will wish you were dead by the time I'm done with you."
When Steve let go of him, Bernie gasped and shook like a leaf as if he'd just seen the scariest movie of all time before wearing the same smug look as before.
