IC Threads
There are two IC Threads.
  • The main hall exists for characters to interact and form their teams. There is a quest board on the first page of the main hall thread (located after the intro post). It is updated regularly with quest ideas.
  • Players can begin posting on the quest thread once their characters depart the guild. Please remember to tag interactions on this thread, since it's possible there may be multiple storylines running.
Quest Storylines
Unless marked otherwise (eg: run by ___ ) on the quest board, ideas are open to anyone to adapt as a story. I will try to run as many quests as I have time for, and occasionally a larger event if there's enough interest, but since the thread is always open to new players it's likely I won't be able to run a story for each group. It's for that reason that I encourage collaboration!

Those interested in running a quest can say so on the OOC, or make it known through their character. If none of the requests on the board catch your eye then you can mention what you're looking for to Azalea, and she can provide some ideas that have yet to be posted. If you have your own idea for a story send me a message with the summary--I'll make sure the ranking and rewards are appropriate, and add it to the board for others to consider.

Starter Items
Every adventurer is given a set of items when they sign up to the guild: a waystone, an enchanted map, and a bag of holding.
  • The waystone is used for long distance transport (anywhere more than a day's walk). Visualise the place you want to be and it will take you there. You can only teleport to places listed on the enchanted map. When heading into unexplored territory--or where there is interference of some kind--all waystone functions will cease.
  • The bag of holding can store anything small enough to fit through the mouth. To retrieve, think of the item and reach inside.
  • The enchanted map will help you keep track of your position. When you accept a task the target area will appear on the map, as well as any points of interest.
Affinities
Your character may have two affinities. One of these must be a standard affinity, the second can be either a standard or specialised ability.
Standard: Air | Earth | Fire | Water | Body | Spirit | Light | Dark
Special: Ice | Lightning | Plants | Transform | Summon | Enchant | Music | Etc

Ranks
There are four ranks in total. Your character may start at the first tier of any. Your rank will affect your starting attributes when making a character. This is expanded on further in the character sheet thread.
Ranks: Copper | Iron | Silver | Gold

Rules
  1. RESPECT THE LORE.
    - Specifically, the histories and explanations people create throughout the RP.
    - Do not change something without first discussing it with them.
  2. No modern technology, though magic equivalents may be allowed.
  3. Main characters are to be a part of the guild or intending to join.
    - Cannon fodder enemies / random NPCs are fine.
    - Antagonists are allowed as a part of quests.
  4. Race Limitations
    - No fandom characters or historic figures.
    - No gods or beings from religious texts.
    - No extra-terrestrials.
  5. At least one paragraph per post.
  6. Common RP courtesies and Nation rules apply.

I'd like to apply to this as well, if possible.

Edit: To what extend can a character be from a different place? Should their origin be within/near Lantana City? If possible, I'd like to make reference to a different nation just to make the character unfamiliar with both the land and the guild. An absolute rookie member with a lot of potential if you will.

This looks like a big bite of interesting! Mind if I join, or am I too late?

I also have a few questions for clarity sake:
  • Is this based on any established franchise/lore/etc.? If not, that's just as well! I do like improv!
  • As I understand it, I can choose a rank and two affinities at the start but can I have a guild specific role (Like the scribe that is listed in the Character List), or would I need to work up to that?
  • Can our characters be born/originate from any part of the world, or is Lantana the main part?
  • Lastly, I noticed people were combining affinities to achieve unique powers for their characters. So, if I were to claim Dark (i'm guessing its similar to actual darkness and places of darkness) and Lightning as my affinities, could I reasonably say I have the ability to wield a powerful shadow lightning?

I'm very interested as well, and I also have some questions:

-Can a character use their standard affinity in a specialized or unique way if they have two standard affinities (Like propelling fire magic similar to how rockets or jets in real life work)?
-Can there only be so many characters to a certain affinity for the time being, or are there no restrictions so long as each character has interesting distinctions from the others of the same affinity type?
-Does a single affinity limit you to one or two powers, or would any given affinity only broadly define what they can do
(Like for Fire affinity, would one be able to transfer heat from one source to another at will: Inadvertently making the source robbed of heat cold like an Ice affinity would)?
-What's the general amount of points earned from jobs needed to progress through the ranks?
-Can characters grant themselves titles fitting of their powersets and lifestyles as to stand out from the others, or are they just called adventurers as to avoid favoritism to the more well-known members of the Guild?

Looks interesting! Also what elements would be good for a healer?
