In spotted/cave hyena society, females are above males, as they are larger & more aggressive. Daughters inherit their ranks from their mothers.

Cave hyenas of both genders are larger & more aggressive than spotted hyenas with slightly longer fur. It was thought that they were extinct, but a few small populations remain.

There is a linear hierarchy determined by power. While rank is inherited, challenging other hyenas can change one's rank.

Normally, males leave once reaching sexual maturity a 2-3 years.
​

 
​

Spotted/cave hyenas are actually highly successful hunters, though they will scavenge. They hunt like wolves do. Hyenas are not canines, though.

Hyenas can digest literally any part of an animal, including bone, horns, & hooves.

Valor Pride
​

 
​

A pride of lions which has adapted to living in a delta. They must wade through water, giving them stronger muscles than other lions. Camp is on a small island in the delta. Many lions in this pride carry the gene for leucism, which makes white lions.
​

Valor Pride mainly hunts water buffalo, which are always numerous, but difficult to take down.

Male cubs are chased out at 2-3 years of age - when they reach sexual maturity.

Lions are less successful hunters than spotted/cave hyenas. Because the hyenas are so successful, lions will often scavenge from them, as well as other animals.
​

Male lions patrol the pride's borders & defend the pride against other males wanting to take over, as they will overthrow them & kill all of the cubs.
​

 
​

Males may assist in hunting large prey, but otherwise hinder the hunt due to their manes making them easily overheat & easily seen.
​

 
​

Lionesses rarely kill hyenas, but male lions will go out of their way to kill them, not even eating their bodies.
​

 
​

White lions are numerous in this pride due to its members carrying the gene for leucism, which is similar to albinism, except they do not sunburn. They are an off-white, often with blue eyes & lighter markings behind the ears.
