Are they constantly gliding? Or do they have to stop when the wind breaks? Cause Aang can use his glider constantly because of the airbending, but the other people using the hang gliders could only go for so long if they didn't have the steam vents around the temple
Apprently these gliders have infinate range and time limit abd no way can they be tracked by a guy on a mount or an earth bender moving a rock or water bender moving ice

And spprently every last person is super wanted so traveling secretly in a way that draws no attention would not be key instead they travel in gaint kites

Likely an 8 hour shift more if you get more than one moving the train you fo realize earth benders can shot rocks very fast at targets moving in the sky that aren't agile enough to dodge like your none agile big gliders.

How would you even SEE them? The layer of breathable oxygen extends for a hell of a long time, certainly long enough to make them look like a flock of birds ?hence the winged shape of the gliders)

And again; tell me why this is so much of an issue. I honestly don't get why. Aerial transport has some advantages ground travel doesn't and vice-versa. From my standpoint, they could have just done it because they wanted to and they were more comfortable hiding in the air. Any number if things could have caused that, just like the nonbenders inhabiting the Eastern air-temple could have just built fucking bridges. There's next-to-no point to this argument, at the moment.

How the hell do you get up that high and maintain that height for hours with none benders in the group

Abd because the methods of travel were influenced by the natuons element and were a great way of showing the culture. These are not air nomads and would have an easier time just disgusting themselves abd traveling like normal people.

There ARE benders in the group. Do you not remember the whole air-temple-based freakout Aang had when he saw the industrialized temple? That's what I'm mentioning.

And you can maintain that height for hours IRL.

They had steam pipes to keep them up

And the firenation built hot air balloons from that not fucking fire gliders because that was how their nations identity and culture worked

Steam does not go that far. And sure, yes, it may have given them a boost, but it would not work for sustained flight unless they flew in circles tight enough to clip off their own wings

The people around there flew around using the steam vents to keep them up

I'm not forgetting, I just already ruled those out because they were impractical for nomads not wanting to be caught or found
How how is using the same inconspicuous methods as people that are local impartial

We are in the earth kingdom home lets not walk are ride animals lets fucking fly how how the hell is that not wanting to be found abd caught when you could just dress up and act like a normal person

You are bending over backwards to justify thing zuko and iroh didn't want yo be caught what did they do they dressed up and traveled like normal people they didn't go make gliders to fly around

Tell me when the last time you looked up, saw a little black dot somewhere among the clouds and said to yourself "Huh. that's not a bird, nor a plane."

No one is expecting it. That's exactly the point. They look like large birds from a distance, and that's usually the only time anyone ever sees them.

But theoretically, let's say they used animal mounts. They get to the edge of the Earth kingdom, intending to hide out in the Air nomad forests because no one ever seems to be there. How the fuck are they gonna get across the ocean without having to take days to either build a boat or walk across a frozen strip of salt water which is NOT east to freeze, mind you, for days on end? It's just impractical for people who want to just go about their lives away from people to use the things most people use and take the paths most people use.

Air nomads didn't have forestets

They live on a mountain.

Mountains are usually ringed by forests. So I assumed, that somewhere down under that cloud-cover, there was a forest. Excuse me for trying to make sense of this world.

They also lived upside down under cliffs that are easy to get to fir none benders xuko and combustion man did it

Also it seems more you don't care about the world. as you are trying to force what you think is cool upon people with no cultural connection to it

Water benders can freeze huge chunks of salt water ice in a second no problem instead they spend months to years training on gliders instead of speedt water bender trabsport

They go for as long as they can, thermal hopping like normal gliders do. Then they stop at the most secluded place they can get to (usually with a lot of planning), and as soon as they can, they take off again. More often than not, they also ride the other gliders' slip-streams.

Hell if your people want to live away from people just go to the great swamp or any of thr huge earth nation forests they can walk to those and no one wpuld suspect a thing

Katara was an especially skilled waterbender, keep in mind. And that still doesn't solve the issue of walking at an average speed of 3-4 MPH for days to weeks instead of gliding at 22-81 MPH and, if needed, making an emergency landing on a small island or even a strip of ice if they have to.

I do care about the world, but I also like thinking about how much others' cultural ideas impact people. Sure sand-boats could be useful, but only for a limited amount of time; however long it takes for them to get out of the of the desert. And by no means is it inconspicuous.

And while that's fair, people also have agendas. It's not like they're mindlessly avoiding people. If they were doing that, they would have dug themselves a hole, made a self-sustaining ecosystem, and continued on with existing. For the majority, staying away from civilization is a good thing, but they also want to do shit and not twiddle their thumbs in a corner somewhere. They travel because they want to, and since gliders are an easy way to get where they're going, they use those.

You seem to be ignoring most of the points I've made, and the fact that people are people, and cultures will do as they please. Does it make sense that American English's words are some Frankenstein of Latin and traditional English? Hell no! What about the fact that there exists boat-nomads somewhere that do nothing but fish and trade? Logically? not at all. But for this, it makes sense that they'd be using gliders because of how all-terrain they are. They won't have to pick their way down a mountain path because they could jump off. Massive, quicksand-filled swamp? Fly over it. The logic is simple as that.

I feel like I am talking to a brick wall you want your gliding assassins setting be damned screw all other modes of transport they must use the one that on one uses because it is cool

The feeling is mutual.

Can we agree to drop it, since we were oh-so-quick to clog the OOC with a conversation that was pointless in the end?
