Lord of the Fries
Introducing the Eyes of the Night
"It was as if he were sleepwalking through life, as if he had already died but not yet noticed it."
β Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage, Haruki Murakami
A phenomena has been occurring for a long while right under the noses of Littlecreekβs denizens. People go missing only to return, as if everythingβs normal but are slightly off. Even more uncommon, people fall asleep and donβt wake up for months. What the construction of Littlecreek brought was a phenomena that attracted strange forces. But with the opulence and distractions Littlecreek provides, many are too immersed with their way of life to take notice of these ongoings or think it strange with the exception of a fewβyou included.
Hey everyone! So this is βthe Graveyard Watchβ, a character-driven thriller/horror tale with paranormal/supernatural elements. Iβm looking for 2-3 (maybe 4 if there are a decent amount of good characters) others to join in figuring what exactly goes on at the edge of whatβs perceivable in Littlecreek. The story will have heavy topics so only those 18+ can participate.
Youβre to play a character who resides in Littlecreek, 21+ only due to the story's subject matters. You can choose to be a student there or not, as long as your character meets the age specifications. Whether they are a local or a newbie to the city is up to you. Majority of the action will take place at night with the charactersβ daytime occupations and responsibilities a good chance to explore their character or to have some bonding with other characters. This isn't a high fantasy RP so only human characters allowed. No powers either.

Notes:
"Roger Vanderbilt stood out from his peers at first glance, due to his great height and icy stare. A dedicated student of Somerville, he majors in classical languages, following in his great-grandfather's footsteps. Responsible and a bit of a romantic, he's prone to hyper-fixating on his object of affection, but tries to appear calm and collected while doing so. Holding himself to a very high standard, he can also hold people up on a pedestal, seeing them as more than they perhaps originally seemed."
Full Name: Roger Vanderbilt
Role: Side Character
Nicknames/Alias: Rodge, Duolingo
Appearance: Roger has a tall, slender build and fair, pale skin. His facial features are well-defined and angular. His blond hair and blue eyes accent his fair complexion, but his appearance is understated and unassuming. His clothes are well-fitting and he carries himself with confidence, yet there's a quiet intelligence about him. Despite his put-together appearance, a hint of something darker can be seen behind his cold stare and the dark bags under his eyes.
DOB: 13 Oct 2000 (23 y/o)
Ethnicity: Roger's of Irish and German descent
Nationality: American
Height: 6'0"
Occupation: Undergraduate Student at Somerville University, Classical Languages/Bookstore Cashier
Character Personality: Roger is known to friends for his tendency to fly off the handle quickly, but to most people, he seems reserved and quiet. When he does get angry, however, he is the type to keep his anger and frustration inside and to direct it toward someone he trusts, often in the form of a lengthly rant. He can sometimes be possessive and quick to act, which can manifest as clinginess. Despite his anger issues, he is an inherently righteous person, a trait that often leads him to wanting to help others and usually results in him saying "yes" to most requests.
To be DM'd to me
I won't spoil Roger's backstory, but I think you got the idea. Just be detailed with your own character when you do DM this section to me.
Expectations:
I'm loose with how long it'll take for the next post, but for this, once a week is the minimum expected amount of posts. I understand IRL takes precedence so I don't expect a post every day. Do let myself and the others know if you're to stop for an extended amount of time.
Expected amount is at least a couple of paragraphs. While I don't expect a novella, please do try to do more than a a few sentences and try to make it count as it is a character-driven story after all.
Optional Roles:
The Paranormal Chaser - Fascinated by all things paranormal, your character ran a channel/blog dedicated to investigating all things paranormal. You have a decent following but you wouldn't say you're rolling in the dough from the measly amount you make from your channel/blog. It was from this your character began to notice the oddities of Littlecreek before being approached by a mysterious benefactor.
The Unexpected Lovelorn - Your character was recently dumped with no explanation. You choose how your character handles this, but deep down you knew something was off about your partner as soon as they returned from being missing for a few days. The relationship was a loving one and there was even talk about marriage numerous times in the future. It was from this your character began to notice the oddities of Littlecreek before being approached by a mysterious benefactor.
The Sleeping Beauty's Loved One - Your character's loved one, whether a family member or a lover, fell into a deep sleep. Doctors can't explain why. It was as if they're asleep like normal but haven't woken up in months now. It was from this your character began to notice the oddities of Littlecreek before being approached by a mysterious benefactor.
Wren Li (26) - Bookstore Cashier/University Dropout
Wren is often seen at Zeiss & Sons' Laundromat, either napping, or reading alongside Roger. She was the next person after Roger who began to notice Littlecreek City's oddities as well as Mr. Doe's second pair of eyes.
Mr. Doe (???) - ???
The main cast's mysterious benefactor. In all instances of meeting, Mr. Doe has never revealed his face, always obscured by shadows. For a generous fee, he's asked Roger and Wren to look into those who returned as well as those asleep.
