Stratford Park, where mystery, drama, and scandal collide under the watchful eye of 'The Grapevine.' In a world where secrets are gold and appearances are everything, it's time to embrace the tantalizing allure of the whispers in the wind.
The corridors are paved with hidden desires, and the parties are a spectacle of opulence. So, fasten your seatbelts, dear students, because The Grapevine is your backstage pass to the theater of elite society, and every text, every glance, every secret is fair play in the high-stakes game of high school intrigue.
This isn’t the first time that Stratford has been the victim of its own skeletons in the closet, but the return of a mysteriously all-knowing entity, now rebranded and under new management, is sure to put everyone on edge again because it’s only a matter of time before that dirty laundry is coating the town’s idyllic cobblestone streets and caught up in the ivy creeping up the school’s stone walls. It seems that nothing stays a secret there for long, and karma always gets its way for those thinking they can evade it.
In case you didn't notice, this roleplay is heavily based/inspired by gossip girl!
The roleplay takes place in Boston, Massachusetts. Where the rich, entitled and elite usually have their way. Every character will have secrets! What those secrets are, is up to you. Although some roles have their own integrated ones... you're responsible for the amount of drama your character brings!
Bring all the ideas, all the plots, and all the mischief.
We're here to cause chaos.
Before you ask, yes! A character will be playing gossip girl, (aka the grapevine) But unless you go for the role, nobody knows who gossip girl is.
Looking forward to writing with you!

the new kid
while this person is new to town and unfamiliar with the web of secrets within the school, they are no stranger to their own drama. fresh faces always come with surprises—both pleasant and otherwise. Keep an eye on this one.

the king
he’s the walking proof that daddy’s money can really get you places in life. With yearly donations made to the school by his father, it’s not only the students that put him above the rest, but the teachers as well. but does status = happiness? He is in a relationship with the queen bee, but survey says things aren’t always as they seem.

the queen bee
everyone knows her, everyone l—has mixed feelings on her. she’s the ringleader of the popular crowd, with a group of circus monkeys who follow her every command. Most notably, the follower, her “best friend”.
open
the drama queen
you don’t get a group of questionably sane, popular girls without the drama queen. While she doesn’t hold as much sway as the queen bee, everyone is sure to know how she feels—no matter how unsolicited her opinion is. She takes things to the extreme in all aspects of her life; everything is a personal matter to her.
taken
the follower
every evil villain—or HBIC at your local private high school— needs a sidekick. This is where the minion comes in. They’re attractive, popular, easy to manipulate…basically the whole package. Good things come in pairs, and where you see the minion you’ll see the queen bee.
taken
the heartthrob
the embodiment of teenage charm and desirability, he's the cliché heartbreaker of every high school scene. people revel in the rumors of who he's hooked up with, and who he's interested in. don’t fall too hard… he isn’t known for lasting relationships…

the socialite
the mayor's kid, a high-society darling with a silver tongue? that comes with connections. this character is the life of the party, they're an exciting enigma and known for hosting extravagant soirées, you were invited? lucky you. They used to date the entrepreneur, it didn't end well.
open
the entrepreneur
A future business magnate in the making, he's known for his money, his goals, and his state of mind, no entrepreneur an operate without funds, and unfortunately for him, he has none. nobody knows mommy and daddy cut him off, but all will be revealed in time. he used to be in a relationship with the socialite.

the heir/heiress
taking over the family business isn’t easy. born into a life of expectations and responsibility has made them a little stoic in the ways of life, this kid is a pretty big deal on the social scene, they’re made of money and it shows. they used to be friends with the wannabe, but nobody knows what happened, intriguing, isn’t it?
open
the charity case
in a school full to the brim with trust fund babies and future CEOs, working hard to earn your place is a lesson most students have yet to learn. This person, however, was admitted to the school for their excellent grades— they have to be some mini Einstein to get away with not paying that college-adjacent tuition. dealing with stuck-up rich kids, hurts... even more so when there's one at home. their parent has recently married the king's father...
taken
the outcast
this person doesn’t fit in and gave up trying years ago. They’re comfortable with their oddness, content to remain on the outside of things, always observing. While the friends they have are few and far between, they swear they prefer it that way. And maybe they do, but it’s a mystery as to why.
open
the golden kid
oh, what’s there to say? they’re the cliché goody-two-shoes. they’ve got good grades, great extracurriculars, and probably got in early at some colleges. they love the praise from their parents and peers… but they don’t have all the energy in the world… this student partakes in a few… unprescribed substances… it’s a well-kept secret, though… clock’s ticking and inevitability is knocking at their doorstep.
open
the troublemaker
the thing about rich people is that the more money they have, the more expensive their vices are to fund, but luckily for the students of Stratford, the troublemaker is there to provide. Not many know about their drug-dealing business, but those that do are sworn to secrecy, lest word travel around, as it so quickly does in a place like that, and the last thing they need is for the Headmistress—or, to them, Mother Dearest—to find out.
taken
the wannabe
fitting in doesn’t come easily to everyone, especially not the wannabe, who has a somewhat permanent position on the outside looking in. Try as they might, nothing ever seems to be good enough for the hydra-akin group of mean girls that run the school. And that’s fine, right? Probably not, from their perspective, but you’ll see for yourself soon enough.
open 1/2
power couple
these two have been dating for what feels like forever; they’re that couple that everybody expects to get married as soon as high school ends, rarely ones to engage in those spats that are so common among teenage relationships. And maybe things are just as perfect as they seem, but sources say a certain someone’s eyes—and hands—wandered a bit too far recently.
open
the jock
he’s the star athlete of the school, they’re not stranger to skipping class to attend a game they’re sure to carry their team to victory for. While brains usually beats brawn, not in their case. What they may lack in brain power, they more than make up for in muscles and sports knowledge. just warn them next time the school issues a drug test, yeah?
taken
the class clown
this person never has anything serious to say and constantly favors making their classmates laugh over actually absorbing any material being taught. While their jokes and pranks may be distasteful to some, it’s all in good spirits, and, well, someone’s got to do it.
open 1/2
the rivals
they’ve been at each others’ throats since diapers. these two have been competing each other in just about everything. sports, class president, debate club. they’re probably the smartest kids in school— but are they really that smart if they can’t realize their feelings for each other?

rule one,
this is not first-come first serve! This roleplay is application-based, and we'll choose which characters fit best in the roleplay! (You can try out for multiple roles! But only two will be accepted.)
rule two,
this roleplay requires discord for OOC communication, plotting and more! This is a pretty heavy community RP. So we'd like to talk to each other to see what we could brainstorm and bring narratives to the table!
rule three,
Due to mature themes and personal preference, as we're not comfortable rping with minors, we ask that the writers be 18+.
rule four,
Posting limit!
So, we're aiming for the roleplay to be a little laid-back, but still have enough to live! We're aiming for at least one post per week.
rule five,
Try to be inclusive with character creation! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
rule six,
In character drama is always encouraged, but OOC isn't. Treat each other with respect, kindness, and love < 3. We won't tolerate any sort of hate! So if that's what you're into, don't apply.
