But she has always had a love a traditionally feminine activities, particularly children. However, that changed when she met the blacksmith, Andrew Allen. It was on accident that the two met, but they formed a secret relationship. She announced her relationship to her family, and they told her to make a choice, them or him. Kitty chose him. She was ready to become a lower class housewife, with no difficulty. However, before they had been married, Andrew became ill and died. Kitty's reputation was ruined and she had to leave London and start a new life.​
