Fantasy The Game (cinnamon and Wonderlandess)

Devil Dressed as an Angel
Wonderlandess Wonderlandess

In a world of gods, for pure entertainment selected persons between the ages of as young as eighteen to late fifties were chosen by the gods out of their sheer boredom. Their objective? Get to heaven. All were chosen to have one choice between three choices: go to heaven, a pure euphoria, go back home to the mortal world and live in comfortable life before having to do the game again (reincarnation to a better status) with or without their memories of the game, or to continue the game in a new round and give the choice to someone else.

The game has one less round than there are people, and no one knows what happens to the last person. The game works in the way of an almost save data. In the beginning round, each respawns in the same spot with memories of their past and the reason for being in that particular location. Should they pass the first task, they are granted the privilege of having their memories from past rounds whenever they wake up in a new round. Should they fail the first task, which failure is death, their soul is held, memories of their death of wiped, and then they are placed back in for the next round, the only remembrance they are left with having are feelings of deja vu and a sort of sixth sense. Those who pass, are then permitted to keep their memories from all rounds up until they have died in said rounds no matter if they have failed or passed that particular round’s first task. Other than the tasks’ rules, there are no rules to be followed. The tasks themselves, with the exception of the first task, don’t necessarily have to be done if someone doesn’t wish to (for better or worse), but if committed, the tasks’ rules must be followed to death.

There are those who have figured out how to play the game to a professional degree, the vets who require something in return for helping a player(s) get to the end of the game and win for the choices, or the vets win and give up their choice to that player. The terms of the agreement are up to the players themselves, Just as there are vets, there are some who haven’t made it past the first task and thus, never regain their memories. To make the game much more interesting, at certain stages tasks and weapons are dropped. There are the standard: guns, knives, bows/arrows, to the much more...rare. Bracelets that conjure flowers that spew fire, rings that make users generate lightning bolts, earrings that make the user invisible, glasses that allow the users to “see” the stats of those around them, to those not even discovered. Each unique, appearing relatively in their same locations every round, and all with the same rules ingrained into them with additional ones applying to each item. Depending on each round and who is left, the items change in danger level.

Flash to person A, person A changes their habits without even knowing it. Person A has never passed the first task and thus has no idea of the world they are in. Person A attracts attention and that’s when Person B shows up. Person B is a vet, he gains things from others when he lets them pass the game. Person B is surprised to see there’s still a relatively young female who’s not bad-looking still in the game with no recollection. Those who are either are vets or have partners. The rest have left by either winning themselves or having a vet help them, usually by using...unsavory means. Person A hasn’t a clue about the game, and person B decides to convince her that her mother, who is actually not in the game, is in and something bad will happen if she doesn’t follow him. Person A naively believes and follows him, though slowly she realizes that he lied, especially after the first task has been completed. He keeps her near hostage, for his amusement at first as he decides this is his almost throwaway “relaxing” round. It isn’t until she takes his weapon of choice and uses it against him that he no longer seems amused and gets angry. It is then that he forces her to give it up and he decides to train her into being an unwilling vet, something to help him with his deals and help him relieve tension. Throughout the journey and rounds, will more happen between them? Will she become the vet he wants or will she be able to beat him in a game he’s a professional at?
I just copied the plot in here just so I can have a reference because knowing me I'll forget a bunch of stuff.

Magical Weapons (known) (still being edited)
Name: Fire Starter

Power: shoots fire flowers.
fire flowers have four different buds, two aimed at the sides and the other two aim up towards the sky facing the opposite ways as the ones on the sides. Fire flowers shoot explosive seeds that detonate seconds after coming in contact with something, which then the flowers shoot flames from the buds, slowly spinning to cover a full circle in which after they wilt after seven minutes. Leaves/Petals of these plants can be eaten and are fireproof. All disappears at midnight
Limitation: only shoot three flowers per day.
Owner: Usually, Person B (can be changed)

Name: Lighting Ring
Appearance: Silver ring band with a lightning bolt on the inside of the ring, reforms to fit owner: usually Person A (can be changed)
Power: Summons a single bolt of lightning from the sky. This bolt is highly precise. Smaller bolts can be shot from ring
Limitation: Lighting Bolt: hard to control where it hits other than the general region (anyway from a ten-foot radius). For better performance, one must practice. Emotions and experience vary accuracy and power (stronger emotions = stronger attack, calmer mind = more accuracy). Small Bolts can only be charged into the ring by static electricity or saps electricity from other objects. The charge does not go away.
Owner: Usually Person A

Name: Invisible ring
Appearance: a rustic bronze ring with morse code on the inside, which translated means achromatic (without color).
Power: User turns invisible.
Limitation: only works ten minutes at a time with five minutes cool down. Cooldown shortens with more experience. Ring can be used before cool-down is up or for longer than ten minutes, but saps the user's energy. Cannot be used in sleep. Does not prevent tracks or noises.
Owner: no permanent user.

Name: Healing Anklet
Appearance: a gold beaded anklet.
Power: Quickens user's healing rate. Allows the user to heal others.
Limitation: the user, when healing others, transfers the wound from the other person to themselves, in which their body heals. Some wounds will be too great for user's healing process.
Owner: no permanent user.

Melanie's eyes snapped open, a little confused as she looked around a virtually empty supermarket. By the looks of it, the supermarket was some organic, hipster spot with everything overpriced and exerting a pretentious aura. She rubbed her head as she stumbled a bit, looking down. She was still wearing what she had that morning when she was getting ready to go to the mall. Brown open-toed wedges, dark blue high-waisted jeans, a white camisole, and a red flannel that loosely hung across her shoulders when she buttoned it up only halfway.

"You look cute, Anie", her cousin had said before falling onto Mel's bed, exasperated as she let out an exaggerated deep sigh, "I wish I could come, being in high school clubs sucks". Melanie remembered that she had laughed, shaking her head as she grabbed her wallet, tossing it into her backpack before grabbing lip gloss, "We can go this Saturday, I'm just going today because it's the last day of the sale". Melanie didn't have work that day, nor did she have to go to college, so she didn't have a problem going on a Thursday to an outlet mall. "You and Aunt Karen are going to have so much fun." her cousin had said, "Is she excited too?". Melanie nodded, looking into the mirror as she took a second to glance at her cousin before looking back to her lips as she applied the lip gloss "Of course she is, my mom's been looking forward to having mother-daughter time for weeks, I mean I have been looking forward to it too.". Melanie's mother was going to come with her, and as she looked down to her door when she heard her mother yelling that she was ready, Melanie smiled and grabbed her backpack, slipping her phone into her back pocket as well as that shiny lipgloss. She headed for the door after that, getting into the driver's seat and ready to drive her and her mother to the mall.

Those were really the last memories Melanie had aside from talking to her mother in the car while on the freeway. Clearly, at least. She remembered getting off the freeway but her vision was almost wispy, the conversation her and her mother were having was muffled and nearly drowned out as if she was underwater while listening instead of literally being one foot away from her mom, then she remembered hearing a screeching, and smelling smoke. What the hell had happened?

"Mom, where ar-"

Melanie had stopped speaking as she looked around again, the realization hitting her in those few seconds that her mother wasn't there.

"Mom?"

She spent the next few minutes running around the store, checking the bathroom and backrooms before she came to the realization that not only her mother was gone, but so was everyone else who would be in the store. Where was everyone? She checked her pocket, the only two things she had was that lipgloss she had put on earlier and her phone. She knew for sure she had tossed her backpack into the back seat, but why wasn't it with her? She checked her phone, although it said it had 64%, there was no service.

She headed to the door, hoping that perhaps if she walks around she would be able to find a bar or two to call her mom. She stopped when she stood at the front doors, the sliding doors had, of course, opened for her though that wasn't the reason she hesitated. She didn't know what it was, but she didn't want to go outside, something felt...off about all of this. She had the feeling she had already done this, but this was the first time she's ever been here so how could that be? She forced herself to ignore the feeling as she looked around. She was on what seemed like the main street of some small town city, entirely different from the populated city that Melanie lived in.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

She yelled out, calling out for anyone at this point. She didn't know what she would do if she was alone, still, she couldn't displace the fear she felt and the anxiety that was steadily rising as the minutes ticked by. She felt her phone buzz and for a moment, she got excited, hoping it was a text from her mother though it was just a blank text. No number or contact was shown as the sender, she couldn't respond back, and it disappeared as soon as she literally read it despite being heavily confused.

What did the text mean by thirty minutes until the first task?

As she looked at her phone, she noticed something else, the date that morning, when she was going to the outlet mall, was Tuesday, December 12th. So why did her phone say it was Wednesday, March 2nd?

Alex felt the buzz of his phone from his pocket. He already knew what the notification was: The next task will begin in 30 minutes. He had spent his entire morning just walking around this small location, scouting around the stores and houses for any useful weapons. He hadn't seen anyone for hours, or maybe even days; he couldn't remember. He was used to it though, just trying to complete the tasks as fast as he could and move on with his life. He felt no need to get close to any players in the game, unsure of what may happen to them. Occasionally he would pick up a little lost lamb and have some fun watching them struggle with the first task. The first task...that was so long ago. For me at least. He was glad that the next task was about to begin, because then he'd actually have something to do rather than wander around empty streets.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

A smile slowly appeared on Alex's face. If someone was hollering out like that, they were obviously new or stuck on the first task and had no memories of anything. Alex peeked around the corner of the building, seeing a bewildered girl. By the looks of it, she definitely was definitely a lost player. Her heels and glossed lips were major giveaways. She doesn't look like she'll ever be good at this game or pass any test. It's almost pitiful. Compared to himself however, he looked like a regular guy as well, wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans. He walked out into the opening, looking towards the girl as he crossed his arms. "What do we've got here?"
