The Youngest of Rhaeclyaโs Heirs: 1/1 โ Currently the youngest of the siblings and the third in line for the throne before more heirs are produced. They are often able to skirt around their duties due to their older siblings taking the brunt of them. They enjoy having fun and often would be the first to volunteer to be a messenger to other kingdoms, desperate to see more of the world. Sometimes they donโt seem to take wars or the line of inheritance seriously and can be quite bored if they are invited to court to watch how the meetings work.
The Disinherited Cousin: 1/1 โ Due to the sins of their father, their line has been disinherited from the throne of Rhaeclya. Still, they are important members of the royal family and therefore are often invited to court or to spend time within the main castle. They may hold complicated feelings about not being able to become heir but they rarely express this. Instead, they do their best to be useful or stay out of the way.
The Rogue Royal: 1/1 โ Cousin to the current heir, this royal does not agree with how things have been established and ultimately is angry about it and acts out. They have caused trouble at court, getting into drunken fights, and simply have been a bit of an embarrassment for the royal family. For the last three years, they have been sent away to one of Rhaeclyaโs smaller castles towards the edge of their lands. Their arrival to court after years is met with mixed feelings.
The Heir of Tun: 1/1 โ The current heir of this mountaintop kingdom, their position has never been challenged and they are proud of it. They are a strong heir who follows the rules and sticks closely to the morals of their kingdom, often passing judgment on the other kingdoms or heirs if it goes against what Tun would do. They are eager for the alliance to be solidified so that their kingdom does not have to worry about the stress of another war.
The Second-in-line to Tun: 1/1 โ The second-in-line to the throne, they are a bit disgruntled by the current heir as they feel they are too stuck in the old ways of Tun. They do not agree with how Tun has been handling itself as they view the other kingdoms as more progressive and ultimately more liked. They try and offer counsel to the current heir but it seems to fall upon deaf ears.
The Newcomer: 0/1 โ A relative from another kingdom, they recently returned to Tun to offer their services to the current heir. They have been serving other royals as an advisor, learning more about the continent and the politics. They get along greatly with the second in line for the throne as they have similar ideas when it comes to the future of Tun. However, they will more than likely bite their tongue to earn the favor of the heir.
The Estranged Cousin: 1/1 โ Nobody knew of their existence until their family appeared during summer, some years ago. Declaring them a possible contender for the throne, they have been loosely involved within Tunโs court, trying their best to learn about the kingdom and its current affairs. They seem to hold little interest in getting the throne and may simply settle for a marriage to help unite the kingdoms.
The Heir of Nireath: 1/1 โ A newly appointed heir, they relish in this new position, finding the power to be quite thrilling. Though they find court boring and many of the current leaders are too caught up in figuring out how to sponge money off other kingdoms, they still have an enjoyable time as heir. They sometimes can abuse this position and use it to get what they want from whoever they want. This can bode poorly for the future of the kingdom or could encourage an uprising against the current line of succession.
The Second-in-line to Nireath: 1/1 โ They have been cleaning up the messes of the heir since they were children. They often will make excuses or find a way to help the heir out of trouble so they donโt bring shame to the family. They may have ambitions of their own, but these are drowned out by the responsibility of looking out for the heir and making sure that they donโt get killed.
The Heir Who Never Was: 1/1 โ They were the other main contender for the throne and were openly opposing the current heir as their family found the royal unfit to eventually wear the crown. But now a royal that will never rule, they have complicated feelings towards the heir and may possibly help overturn the current ruling. After all, thereโs plenty of time before the heir will have to step up to the throne.
The Hand of the Heir: 0/1 โ Since their family was founded, they have always been loyal to the heirs and leaders, lending them their support and advice. They are no different with the current heir. Unlike some within the royals, they fully support the newly appointed heir and are determined to see them ascend the throne. They seem to have pure intentions and simply want to lead their future ruler in the right direction.
The Heir of Araes: 1/1 โ The heir of a kingdom filled with jewels, they have grown accustomed to the luxury their life provides them. They are a future ruler who hides any blemishes they find under a painted exterior and confident smile. They know how to charm a crowd and they do just that. However, with the stress of dealing with their new half-siblings and growing pressure from public opinion, their mask is starting to crack.
The Second-in-line to Araes: 0/1 โ The cousin of the heir, they were chosen to be second in line due to the heir lacking any blood siblings at the time. They never expected to be thrust into this role so they have approached it a bit apprehensively. They have no desire to try and take the throne from the heir and are simply trying to be an ally for their cousin and provide more support to the heirโs claim to the throne.
The Wolf of Araes: 0/1 โ A royal but also captain of their own special group of guards, they keep order in Araes and deal with the darkness that the kingdom tries hard to hide under the golden streets. They have seen the underbelly of the kingdom and they seem to share the burden with no one. They are someone who holds the keys to the secrets of the kingdom but the other royals trust them enough not to expose it for it would be the downfall of the whole kingdom.
The Protector of Araes: 0/1 โ The step-sibling of the current heir, they have been actively involved with Araesโ military and have never stopped. They have protected the kingdom for years from any foe that dare approaches the glittering city. They have no desire to be caught up in the drama of who shall inherit the throne and have been trying to peacefully uphold the current alliances that have formed across Nordua.
The Heir of Rhaeclyaโs Guard: 1/1 โ The current personal guard of the heir of Rhaeclya. They take this role very seriously and are constantly by her side, assuring her safety. They have ridden into battle with her many times and understand some of the struggles that heirs go through. They are considered a loyal friend to the heir, something that is always acknowledged by those within the guard and other royals.
The Heir of Tunโs Guard: 0/1 โ The personal guard of the heir of Tun, they have known them since infancy. They share similar values to that of the heir and will always advocate for them, even if the heirโs sibling does not agree with either of them. They are a talented warrior and will bravely ride into battle to protect the honor of their kingdom and its heir.
The Heir of Araesโ Guard: 1/1 โ The current personal guard of the heir of Araes, they have been trying to protect the heir with undying loyalty. They have always been by their side, swearing loyalty to them and their cause even before they were declared heir. Now with the pressures from within the castle walls and the public opinion of the heir, they have been feverishly protecting them, shielding them from conflict and strife if they can.
The Heir of Nireathโs Guard: 1/1 โ Newly appointed, they were chosen by the current heir after the kingdomโs tournament. They often are roped into schemes by the heir and sometimes the heir actually slips from their sight, much to their horror. They feel as if they are babysitting the heir and will usually team up with the heirโs sibling in order to keep the heir out of permanent trouble.
The Royal Guard of Rhaeclya: 1/3 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family. While they do not protect the heir personally, they still protect the royal family members and do their best to keep the peace within the kingdom.
The Royal Guard of Tun: 0/3 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family. While they do not protect the heir personally, they still protect the royal family members and do their best to keep the peace within the kingdom.
The Royal Guard of Niraeth: 0/3 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family. While they do not protect the heir personally, they still protect the royal family members and do their best to keep the peace within the kingdom.
The Royal Guard of Araes: 0/3 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family. While they do not protect the heir personally, they still protect the royal family members and do their best to keep the peace within the kingdom.
Taken Roles.
The Heir of Rhaeclya: Naelys Dorgaeron โ The current heir of Rhaeclya was established as heir when she was 15 years old. She has since upheld the role and has done her part in learning about politics, magic, and history, and even been active in the wars that the kingdom has been part of. She is known for her ability to unite and lead people and is considered to be quite influential. She is an ally that many would want to be close to in order to allow them access to Rhaeclyaโs army. (played by social)
The Second-in-Line to Rhaeclya: Malaenys Dorgaeron โ The twin brother of the current heir, he is considered to be second in line until his sister marries and provides herself with heirs. In the meantime, he primarily serves in the kingdomโs military when they are at war and offers counsel when conflicts arise. He is primarily at his sisterโs side when home in Rhaeclya and is careful to watch out for those who would wish harm upon the royal family. (played by social)
The Serpent of Tun: Saena Taeltheos โ Cousin to the current heir, her parents have been strongly advocating for her to be placed on the throne, and at the moment she is still considered a contender for the throne if something were to happen to the heir and the second-in-line. She has always been a pawn in family politics and at this point, she doesnโt care anymore. She is knowledgeable about many things and often is part of the court, providing counsel and advice when it is asked for. Due to her magic, she can easily learn the whispered words of even the royals within the kingdom, causing her to be equipped with information that could rock the line of succession. (played by social)
The Heir Who Ran: Daemond Velaeris โ The bastard son of the king and previous heir of Nireath, he held that title for a decent period of time before he ultimately ran away. Nobody really understood why he left, but he did and he never came back. It had been years since anyone in Nireath had seen him, so with the calling of all royals within the four kingdoms, it was shocking, to say the least when he arrived upon the back of his dragon. Much has changed over the years and only time will tell what happened to him all those years ago. Lets just hope his arrival will not cause an uprising to happen for those who wish him to be back on the throne. (played by social)
The Fallen: Amrya Shaed โ A royal from another continent, she was arranged to marry her country's heir, and would become Queen-consort when he ascended the throne. However, when a war with Araes broke out, her husband took the throne, his parents having been killed within a few months after the war began. He reigned for three years before being slain in battle. Distraught, his widowed queen was left with no one to succeed her and soon, three months after the death of her husband she was taken captive by Araes along with a few other royals. She was to be an offering to a royal within the jeweled kingdom, much to her own despair. She has been part of the court for a few years now and while she is unable to leave, she is doing her best to remain resilient. (played by social)
informationWelcome to ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ applications! This is not first-come-first-serve, meaning you will be accepted via PM if I feel your character is a good fit. If you do not receive an invite by the time I specify, that means your character has not been accepted. Please do not reach out asking how to get accepted into the roleplay because this defeats the purpose of it being acceptance-based. Please remember that if you do not get in it is nothing personal, it simply is due to the fact I did not feel the character fit the roleplay. That is the only reason. Discord is required for this roleplay as it will be our ooc/lore since it's far easier for me to keep track there. This roleplay also has an 18+ rule as I simply do not feel comfortable with having minors in this roleplay. Please read through the specific character sheet rules. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Please Note: Familial connections between the royals do not have to be first cousins and things of that sort if you do not want them to be. This is especially true for those wanting to possibly ship their characters. We don't have to pull a GOT or HOTD unless you really want to.
Plot Summary.
This roleplay will focus on the royal families of each kingdom within Nordua and the relationships they are forming with their newfound allies before the war with Lydun commences. This means it will start during the summer solstice where all of the characters will meet for the first time to begin to form relationships and create stronger bonds between the four kingdoms. The characters are unaware of the tensions coming from Lydun as the High Court has not shared this information with anyone outside of the court. But because of the brewing war, the current kings and queens are pushing for their heirs to become more established among the people and their other children to do their best to become important parts of the royal family. This means that there most likely will be some arranged marriages going on in order to achieve this.
As the roleplay progresses, the characters will begin to become aware of what is happening across the ocean and will start to prepare for it. There is a specific time frame that the roleplay will follow and so eventually war will happen and the characters, especially those who are dragon riders, will be involved in the battle itself regardless of how they feel about the conflict. There will be various side stories and adventures the characters will go on before the war happens, meaning there is plenty of time for character development, drama, and even smaller conflicts with other enemies that are targeting Nordua.
Available characters will be those within the royal family and then those within the royal guard. If you have any questions regarding the plot or lore, please DM me! I am simplifying it for now but it will be expanded upon in the server!
Roleplay Rules.
โข This roleplay is 18+!
โข You are allowed only one heir if you are applying for multiple characters
โข More roles may be added but for now, this is all that will be available.
โข Currently keeping everyone who is applying at a two-character limit. This can change at any point.
โข Do not harass anyone over roles or face claims
โข Upon acceptance, arranged marriages between royals (especially heirs) will happen but that does not mean the characters have to be considered romantically involved.
โข KEEP THINGS EVEN. I do not want all heirs to be fem, all guards to be fem, and then like two masc characters. Please please count before applying. This applies to kingdoms as well! Not everyone can be part of Rhaeclya! Sorry! All heirs should not be fem either! Diversity people! Balance it out!
โข If you need an extension CONTACT ME. If you do not contact me about an extension, none will be provided.
โข This is NOT first come first serve
โข No OP characters or dragons. This will be an immediate disqualification for the roleplay
โข Realistic face claims or detailed descriptions will be allowed! (Please refrain from using characters from HOTD or GOT as I don't want a bias towards any characters!)
โข Please keep characters balanced.
โข All of RPN's rules apply

Welcome to ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ applications!

Available Roles.
The Heir of Rhaeclyaโs Guard: 0/1 โ The current personal guard of the heir of Rhaeclya.
The Royal Guard of Rhaeclya: 2/3 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family. While they do not protect the heir personally, they still protect the royal family members and do their best to keep the peace within the kingdom.
The Royal Guard of Tun: 0/4 โ They are the guards of the royals and are personal guards to those within the royal family.
