Hello! Thank you for visiting my thread! I'm currently searching for a partner to write an original 1x1 story based on The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. To be clear, though, I'd like the story to be an original one with our own tributes, no canon characters (I'm personally not a big fan of writing canon characters in my RPing, because I spend too much time worrying about whether I'm getting them "right"). There are different things we could do with the premise, of course—for example, we could write a Games that took place sometime before the 74th Games, or we could even do some kind of twisted AU where the Second Rebellion failed and the Games continued far into the future. I'm open to discussing anything!
There are a few more guidelines I'd like to discuss just to give you an idea of what I'm looking for. I'd like us each to play a tribute in the Games from the same district (for the purposes of interaction, since I think playing tributes from different districts would make it a little harder for us to set up interactions until later on in the Games). To start with, I'd prefer if we stick with two main player characters, although we can definitely have plenty of NPCs! I just find that I usually do better in stories if my focus is spread over a smaller number of characters. Also, If possible, I'd like for our tributes to not be from District 12, just because District 12 was already explored so much in the books, and there are a lot of districts that didn't really get much detail. I think it would be more fun to choose one of these districts to flesh out than to just retread District 12.
I would like to write a female tribute. This has nothing to do with shipping dynamics or anything, I'm just personally more interested right now in writing and exploring my female characters than my male ones. So if you'd like to write a male tribute, that works totally fine, and if you'd prefer to also write a female tribute, we could do a Quarter Quell where all the tributes are female or something like that. I'm open to any ideas!!
Speaking of shipping dynamics, I'd like to emphasize that it's not necessary for our tributes to have a romantic relationship! I'm totally cool with it if you'd like, of course, but I'm also cool with exploring platonic ships or even sibling/familial relationships or something along those lines.
With all of that said, I'm very open to discussing and developing our characters' dynamics, but here are just some possible ideas I have to get your creativity going:
- A pair of former childhood friends who drifted apart/fell out for some reason, only for the Games to bring them back together when they are both reaped
- A pair of Careers who made a childhood promise to one day enter the Games together
- An older (closer to 18) tribute and a younger one (closer to 12) who develop a sibling-like bond (please note that in this case I would prefer to play the older one)
