Omnipotent Burro
This history is based on the events of an Tamriel based Game of Thrones style Rp with great houses across Tamriel ruling the distinct kingdoms all answering to the Emperor. The main issue, the size of Tamriel made player interaction sparse. Here's a rough account of those events
The concept:
This rp takes place all within one city. A new city sitting right in the center of the Cyrodil/Skyrim/Morrowind borders. It is the largest city ever built in all of Tamriel, and the first free city (free as in it belongs to none of the three countries it borders) of the empire. Its construction began during the reign of Titus Mede I, and did not reach completion until after the coronation of his grandson, Lucian Mede I. To honor the history of the Empire and the ending of an era, the city is dubbed Septimora. You'll play the role of a small faction within the city, seeking to turn Septimora into your domain. Each group starts with just a homebase and a few crew members. How you go about taking more territory in the city will be up to you, whether it be a mafia style crime family, a daedric cult, or a new thieves/assassins guild.
Aside from player bases, at the start of the rp, the entire city will be up for grabs, leaving it up to you to eventually decide who owns what parts of the city. Provinces will have assigned resources that you'll gain for owning them as time goes on, similar to risk. This is how we'll keep track of your faction growth. So far for province types there will be:
Residential- gives Manpower - Half your total manpower income is how many recruits you gain per turn. For example, if you have 8 provinces each giving you 1 man power, you gain 4 new recruits at the beginning of your turn. You'll use manpower to upgrade your territory, do scouting on enemies, and represents your crews exhaustion/limiter. Meaning if you spend all of your manpower you really can't do anything as your crew is already expended for the turn.
Commercial- gives Money - the listed gold is your net income of the province, as well as your total income, meaning all of your crew members, spies, snitches pay are included. Gold will be used for faction upgrades, buying character items, hiring new recruits, mercenaries, and a multitude of other purposes.
Industry- gives Materials - This is an umbrella term, including food and beverage, crafting and building items such as wood, stone, iron, leather, raw herbs, and a lot more. This will play a part in upgrading your crews gear, base, territories, and affects overall crew happiness as they'll want luxuries such as a bar under their banner or a lumber yard to save money on wood.
Empire - gives influence - Influence gain is based off of the importance of the building/district to the City. Keep in mind, “owning” this province does not necessarily meaning you killed all the guards and now run the place. Everyone could simply be on your payroll now, or you could've bought out the noble house who pays that districts guard house. The way you take over is up to you.
All 4 resources are used in the player shop which has a special twist. All upgrades are for sale 1 time only. Meaning if you buy the ‘Orcish weapons’ upgrade for your crew, no one else will be able to buy it, and will instead have to work for such a modifier. As upgrades are bought, a new one will be put up to replace it. There will also be auctions, daedric items, and other special items from the games for sale on occasion, all 1 time only. This will serve just to bring fun lore items back, and will not be game changing.
Each crew starts with 6 members and a Leader(s)(note having 2 leaders does not give you an 8 man start). To start, only the Leader requires a character sheet. Your crew members will be limited to leather armor/basic mages robes/Basic vampirism(no lords to start). Racial makeup, skills, and pretty much everything else is up to you. I'm pretty open minded so feel free to ask questions if your unsure if something would be allowed.
I will be playing the role of the Empire, meaning the politicians you'll be corrupting, the imperial guards of the city (there will be multiple guard types, but that will be discussed later), and other characters throughout the city, to help progress the story, or maybe change the direction, though I will leave most major story decisions to a group vote.
My territories will be the Government buildings, guard houses, and and gates in and out of the city, as well as a few provinces here and there. Taking Empire provinces does not mean you'll have to fight the empire for it, there will be more information on the ways to take provinces from the empire, and each other. Though I will be creating these ‘quest lines’ lines for some provinces, most provinces will require a longer post on the way you went about taking it.
Attacking only cost manpower, and losses will be decided by you. If you are attacking a player province, you must decide between the two of you who wins and how. Ideally this will lead to collaboration posts of combat, intrigue, or however you decide it happens. If for some reason the players cannot decide that is when I will play tiebreaker. Keep in mind my decisions are always focused with story first, so I'll be using the stats to heavily influence those decisions.
4E 01, Martin Septim sacrifices himself ending the Oblivion crisis, but leaving the empire without an heir to the throne. The High Council and the Blades do everything in their power to maintain order while a new Emperor is selected.
4E 03, Highly regarded general, businessman, and politician, Titus “Troll Slayer" Mede is crowned Emperor in the wake of the Oblivion crisis.
4E 05-06, the destruction of Vvardenfell, known as the red year. As Dark elves flee their homeland, the Argonians of Blackmarsh begin to take territory from Morrowind. Emperor Titus denounces Argonian leadership, but does not strike back, knowing the advantage the marsh having its impenetrable reputation.
4E 08, Riften is destroyed by Daedric cultists, eventually discovered to have been working with the Thalmor.
4E 09 The leader of the Thalmor is found to be a daedric priestess, seeking to start the second oblivion crisis. This leads to the Summerset Isles falling into chaos, as politicians are lynched in the streets for their involvement and corruption and the remaining Thalmor are hunted down to near extinction.
4E 10, Emperor Titus issues an ultimatum to Black Marsh leadership, stop making advances on Morrowind, or face the wrath of the Empire.
4E 12, Emperor Titus marries his son to Abuki Thassad, whose family claimed lineage from A’tor Thassad, the last High king of Hammerfell. House Thassad having vast connections not only across Hammerfell but Skyrim and High Rock as well.
4E 13, A son is born to Prince Titus and Queen Abuki, named Lucian Thassad Mede.
4E 14, Ocato Mede, (The second son of Titus and Abuki) is named after the long serving councilor who passes away just days before the child's birth.
4E 15, Black Marsh invades Morrowind again, this time slaying hundreds of Dark elves, and capturing thousands, held as captives for negotiations with the Empire. After back and forth negotiations, new borders are drawn between Blackmarsh and Morrowind. The Argonians agree to release the Dark elf prisoners after the border restructure, but most do not return home, despite Argonian leadership swearing the Elves were released. Many believe the were slaughtered, while others think they simply did not survive the dangerous trek home on foot. (Arrangement of transportation home was not discussed in negotiations)
4E 20, Emperor Titus’ 50th birthday celebration is marked by a massive cake, crowd, and an assassination attempt by the Argonians.
4E 23, The High King of Skyrim asks for financial aid in building a new city in the Rift. This coupled with the Dark elf refugee problem lead to Titus’ eventually suggesting Septimora during s council meeting. A smaller amount of aid is sent by the Empire, used to boost the growth of Ivarstead making it the new seat of the Rift.
4E 30, Blackmarsh invades Morrowind again, this time a rogue militia, under command of Hist Shaman Zuka-Stonetail. Emperor Titus offer 50,000 septims to the man who brings him the head of the Shaman. The Shaman is assassinated by an unknown Khajiit.
4E 36, Emperor Titus I dies in his sleep at the age of 66. Titus II, 40, is selected by the high council as heir to the throne.
4E 36, Blackmarsh secedes from the empire after the first meeting with Titus II. Emperor Titus II declares war on Blackmarsh.
4E 37, 9 months into his reign, Emperor Titus Mede II falls over dead from an Aneurysm. The mystery of his death is largely what he is remembered for.
4E 37, Lucian Mede I, 24, is crowned Emperor, much to the surprise of the people, who expected the council to select his uncle Darius, a known politician and capable general.
4E 37, Blackmarsh invades Morrowind again. Emperor Lucian dispatches a large imperial force to the Morrowind/Black Marsh border, with a kill order on any invading forces. Meanwhile, Lucian offers a massive reward for any man who can prove themselves the most powerful pyromancer in the empire.
4E 37, 2 days after the Black Marsh provocation, over 200 pyromancers made their way to the eastern edge of the Argonian rainforest. Emperor Lucian and 3,000 imperial soldiers standing behind them, each mage tried to do out the last, launching the most destructive spells imaginable into the dense woods. At the end of the contest, over 12 square miles of the marsh had already burned, with no end in sight to the massive blaze. Black Marsh soon ceded control back to the empire before there was no marsh left.
The beginning of the rp takes place during 4E 38, 1 year into the reign of Lucian Mede I.
