The Ebon Dragon's Fetisch Soul concept

For those who have read up on the Ebon Dragon, including Return of the Scarlet Empress, you know that it is unknown even to the EB himself, the identity of his Fetisch soul... The being that holds the means to destroying the Yozi and the possibility of ending the tyranny of the Reclamation in its tracks.

I propose that the Ebon Dragon shattered his Fetisch Soul (intentionally or not) into smaller parts. And that these parts have been roaming Creation unaware of their true nature.

I first give you Five Days Darkness. This spirit represents the first shadow cast by the Unconquered Sun when he was brought into being by The Shadow of All Things (the Primordial that would later become the Yozi we call the Ebon Dragon).

Next I give you Little Beam, a mysterious spirit we first learn about in Glories of the Most High: The Unconquered Sun, who bears a strong resemblance to Ignis Divine and also claims to be his "son". The truth to this claim of biological lineage has not yet been confirmed (to my knowledge). But work with me here.

Let's say it's true... in a way. Let's say that Little Beam IS the son of the Unconquered Sun. But then, how. The way I see it, its simple. If Five Days Darkness is the first shadow cast by Sol Inviccus, the Little Beam IS that light by which that first shadow was cast. Essentially making Little Beam and Five Days Darkness brothers of a sort.

So then I propose the idea that 5DD and LB are the two shattered pieces of the Ebon Dragon's Fetisch Soul... brought into being at the beginning of time.

Now, if this is so, then they would need to be merged together in order to take on their true form of the EB's fetisch soul. But how? I propose that there exists somewhere in some ancient tomb a spirit-on-spirit version of the Ride Charm. Either one that one, or both, of the spirits to be merged would have to learn, or one that could be cast by a third party. Or maybe not a Charm, a Sorcery Spell perhaps. Otherwise, mechanics would work the same as Ride.

Now, the next part is where the Yozi come in. 5DD and LB merged together with Ride is still barely the strength of a demon of the 2nd circle. There would have to be a sort of "restoration of power" if you will. Something to empower this new merged being with the demonic energies that were siphoned away when the two shards of the Ebon Dragon's fetisch soul split apart during the birthing of the Unconquered Sun. What's more demonically empowering than Investiture of Infernal Glory? The two shards of the EB's fetisch soul, 5DD and LB, could be merged with an adapted version of the Ride Charm, then demonically empowered by becoming an Akuma to the very Yozi hey were split from?

Thoughts? Opinions? Brainstorms?

Actually, you missed a fairly large part of RotSE.

Ebon has his feitch summoned about the same time as he escapes, to keep anyone from doing the easy-off. It's just left up to ST what the feitch soul actually is.

See, I've always used good old 4-arms up in Heaven as his fetich soul. It makes sense, really...the entire history of the creation of the Unconquered Sun's just another lie, woven by the Shadow of All Things. What greater betrayal than that of his own goddamn primary soul? It would explain why the Sun was the leader of the rebellion in the first place.

If I may, the sidebar in the last chapter of RotSE titled "The Heart of Darkness" simply states that the EB, being no fool, likely has an infernal sorceror summon his fetich long before his own escape from Malfeas. IMHO, this could be very loosely interpreted that the EB's fetich was, in one form or another, already IN Creation when he was summoned. Not that he was summoned at the same time like @Lochar was suggesting. Also, like @Thorn Darkblade said, the Shadow of All Things is the master of lies, even unto himself, as it is his very nature. So I say why not have "good old 4-arms" merged with the US's "son" and then "akumatized" to be, who i've been humbly calling, "Hollow Shadow", the EB's fetich soul.

It's also an interesting twist if to defeat the ultimate evil, you need to destroy the source of your power.

Yeah, but how do you reconcile that with the fact that if Ebby kills the Sun, he doesn't have a blow up himself?

You can kill a Primordial/Yozi's fetich soul without killing them. It just changes them forever. I wonder what the ED would become...

Yes, very interesting concept that the ED's fetich is the very antithesis of all that he represents as spawned at the beginning of time by His Great Darkness himself.

Though wouldn't it be interesting if, through destroying the fetich soul, the players bent the Ebon Dragon into a mirror of himself and created The Risen Phoenix, The Truth Inherent In All Things.

Nice to see that I wasn't the only one who had this thought. Though personally, I rather tended toward the idea that the Dragon was incapable of forming his own Fetich Soul originally, because strictly speaking, he didn't exist. He was a bit of not-reality that managed to escape into reality. Only through his manipulation of the Primordial King and the Creation of the Sun did he suddenly come to be real, to truly and tangibly exist.

EDIT: And the reason that the Sun can't be commandeered by the Dragon the way other Fetich Souls can be is that the Dragon cannot abide to possess something so antithetical to his own nature. (I.E. because he cannot tolerate Holiness.)

Beyond that, it fits with the Glories of the Unconquered Sun alterations to Golden Boy. The idea that his original form was a dragon, the notion that he can disobey the rules he so Perfectly embodies (and in so doing summon shadowy imitations of the fulcrums he currently betrays/breaks the rules concerning), all of that hints at that tie.

Besides, that notion conforms perfectly to another touch I always liked: not all Primordials were created equal, where fetich souls were concerned. Malfeas had a backup fetich. Gaia has five joint fetiches representing her elements.
