The Dragon Hunter

Shyndras

New Member
By the curse of a witch in her last moments of life she created dragons. From the salt of the oceans, the cracks between the rocky mountains, the melted rock of the volcanoes, the sand of the desert, the winds and ice of the poles and the moss of the heavy forests; this creatures were born. They caused great losses for the human kind and other creatures; and throughout the centuries, from the beginning of time, they've been there to cause terror in the heart of the most brave.

Eventually the humans raised against this creatures and learned how to kill them. Now dragons are rarely seen, pushed away to the most extreme habitats were humans rarely approach. Their scales, claws, fangs and fossilized eggs are sold in high prizes, and their meat has been labeled as the most exquisite. Even some had been captured and kept for the entertaining of the kingdoms in the arena. These creatures born from black magic are close to extinction; But in this century dragon hunters are just as uncommon as the always cold scales of the Ice Dragon of the South.

Recently many reports have arrived mentioning sightings of this creatures, attacks to farms and to villages. But when this creatures are being chased, they just disappear. A talented hunter is needed to solve this mystery and of coarse gold and fame await. Yet many say that this is all the doing of the new cultural group of the so called
Drakerians. People who venerate this creatures as spirits and are believed to be practicing the use of magic but nobody is certain about the matter.

  • This roleplay's setting is in the medieval time; Kingdoms and villages, boats and carriages. Here I am searching for a hunter, a dragon hunter, I don't care what gender (also you can use as many ocs you desire). The roleplay rating is whatever you choose it to be. Want romance? Bring it on. Wanna leave it to the flow? I'm ok with it.

I'll be playing the role of the dragons and the Drakerians.
And before hand, I must say the reason why they can't find these creatures is because they can shapeshift into humans whenever they desire as a way of survival for they were born from a curse of a witch (No OC can know this, only dragons and former Drakerians). All witches are human whom have gained magic powers because they understood the capabilities and essence of a soul (magic comes from our souls). Dragons have magic as an innate ability thanks for being born of it. Let's just say dragons are part human too.

So if you want to make your character half dragon ( called a
Drake among Drakerians ) just do it but know they can't shapeshift into a dragon but can use magic. Your character could be a drake but lack features linking it to the dragon kind. People in the medieval times were highly superstitious and scared of deformities in their children thinking they were the offsprings of something evil. If your oc were to have a pair of horns, a tail, claws or wings, he/she would have been murdered at birth. Dragons were originated by the curse of a witch, witches weren't considered something holy, so if a being resembles something created by them (close to a dragon), its meant to be killed. So in my world, drakes do not have those features, they can only use magic and inherit certain abilities of the dragon species of one of the parents.

For example, Mountain Mine Dragons lack wings, but have incredible speed. A drake descendant of this dragon will be really fast and agile and have magic dominance over rocks and minerals that stay in its natural state. Also, since this kind of dragon lives in really dark and dry places, a Drake can have a respectable sight at night and be able to go days without water.

And as for using magic, your character must have someone to teach them first how to use it. Only a dragon can do it, not a witch because they are completely human. Since dragons were born with magic an as innate ability it works different than that of a witch or of a warlock. The use of magic is really limited in use because is considered (by people of that era) a power acquired by making some kind of contract with a demon that gives the user "evil powers" to spread darkness and chaos. Everyone that knows the art of magic is instantly labeled down as a witch or a warlock. So people that practice these abilities keep them hidden from sight and in minimal influence over others.
