Realistic or Modern The Different Ones (Open)

Kenny sat at a glass table playing LOL on his laptop with his headphones in blocking any noise form the outside world. His uncle walked in grabbing his cup of coffee and attempted to talk to Kenny but was a fail seeing as he wasn't paying attention to anything but the screen. His uncle chuckled then ruffled Kenny's hair playfully and exited out the house to work. Kenneth removed his headphones and watched his uncle leave out then turned off his computer and fix his hair a little. He got up and put his laptop in his book bag and headed out. Although his love for darkness and technology he didn't like to stay inside much even during the day. so he headed towards the inner city to get something to eat and maybe go the park and play more game son his laptop, maybe even get into some trouble.

Kenny entered into a cafe and placed his book bag down the he began to order but looked indecisive and said ummmmm to distract the cashier from his other hand slowly sliding up to the register he placed a tiny microchip that wasn't noticeable the he ordered two donuts and some tea. He smiled at the cashier and he began to type in the order. it said 1.99 but the real amount was 4.99 but guessing the cashier was new he didn't take much of it and just grabbed the 1.99 and handed Kenny his food. He walked out the cafe smiling sipping on his tea and headed to the park.

Ray waited for Wynter to return from wherever in the house he was going, and watched herself switch colours. Bet no human did that. She wondered about his mum, and the guy on the couch she saw earlier. He would wake up soon, or his mother would be home, and she would have to make up a story. She would have to clarify a story with Wynter so tbey knew what to say. Ray crossed her fingers that the hiccups would be gone before she had to interact with a humanoid being other than Wynter. She wondered if his mum and the other guy were nice. Did he enjoy living in a home with them? She would have to ask him. She watched herself flash from Red to Green to Pink...

@JayKuro

Wynter soon returned with two bottles of water. He was still laughing a bit as he watched Ray turn colors once more. He handed her a water bottle and set the other on the table for later. "You have to drink as much as possible holding your breath." He said smiling a bit seeing how she would do this and if it would even work.

@SassyAndroidSera

Ray took a fairly deep breath, filling her cheeks with air, before trying to gulp down the water. Unfortunately she hiccuped and turned brown. She realised she must look like a hamster and spat loads of water out of her mouth as she laughed. She wiped herself off and tried again, getting enough down, before she turned invisible. She could see the water seemingly floating and she wiggled its up and down laughing. After a while, the hiccups subsided and she stopped flashing different colours.

"Hey Wynter? What do we tell your parents later?" She asked. It was important they both knew a plausible story of how she knew Wynter.

@JayKuro

Wynter laughed as she tried to down the water the first time and failed, luckily though she soon stopped hiccuping and stopped turning different colors. "Hm? Well for mom we might as well tell her the truth I mean not much gets last her. For dad anything will do because he still doesn't even know about me not being human." He said sitting back down on the bed stretching a little.

@SassyAndroidSera

Ray nodded. That was ok, as long as his parents wouldn't mind...Still. She couldn't stay here for ages, because she didn't want the group to find him. "Wynter if people from the group come don't shift. As long as you don't they can't tell you're a shifter." People,from the group could recognise most hybrids as they looked different, but shifters blended in better. She hadn't been caught as she could hide herself, but it was probably only a matter of time...

@JayKuro

"Well I wasn't going do. I'm a better fighter in human form anyway." He said looking down at Ray as if were completely obvious. "Besides have you seen how small I am as a cat, I don't think that would do any damage even if I wanted to." He said laughing a bit.

@SassyAndroidSera

"Maybe...sometimes it can be...involuntary though right?"She asked. She knew she wasn't always in control of her Camoflage, and maybe it was the same for shifters, like a fight or flight response. The Group was becoming stronger, and taking down lots of innocent Differents like her...

"So what now?" She asked, curiosity in her voice.

@JayKuro

Wynter looked at the time 8:50 p.m. His mom should be home soon. "Hm... Well I'll probably have to clean up downstairs but if you want we can look in my sister's room for something to do in there. She always seemed to have something fun up her hands." He said looking up at the ceiling.

@SassyAndroidSera

"Sounds like fun, lets do it!" Ray said. How old was this sister of his? She was kinda just using her stuff... But Wynter said it was ok so it would probably be fine with her. "But I'm helping you clean up first." She told him. She didn't really mind cleaning. Before... Yeah, she always used to put her iPod on loud and dance to her songs while cleaning up. It was never really a chore to her, just a short break before the really fun stuff.

@JayKuro (going to bed now:D)

(Good night! :D )

"Okay sure, but sadly we have to be quiet or else dad will wake up and that's usually never a good thing." Wynter said as he stood up and started walking down stairs towards where his dad was on the couch. He stared picking up the beers bottles and littered cirgurattes and throwing them away. He did his work silently making sure nothing was heard of his father's loud snoring.

Once in the town she noticed that it was fairly populated. Not a big city like she preferred but it would do. She casually followed the street signs to a nearby store. "Wait out here,' she instructed seven before entering.Once inside Gigi bought only the necessities with what little money she had left.Which was only got her and Seven food for a couple of days.

Skipping back outside Gina was brought to an abrupt stop.Seven was gone But that was impossible he would never venture out of her sight.

Panicking she began to sniff the air for any sign of Seven. Once she got a scent she stared to run. She tracked him to a local park, in the worst position possible. Trapped by dog catchers. She growled angrily

Thomas sat on a large branch of a tree in the forset. He took a sip of his coffee and continued to stare blankly at the tree across from him. He been in this same position for a while now and he doesn't realize. He tries to drink his coffee again, but he ran out and only drops greeted his mouth. He groaned and climbed down carefully. It was a bit too late to be in the forest for a normal person, but he wasn't exactly normal. He hopped down on the last branch and walked toward the town. 'Well now what do I do?' He thought and kept walking. He could hear each step he took and each move he made. 'The forest is a bit quiet today.' A gush of wind made the trees sway and the leaves on the ground move. 'Well, not that quiet.' He decided to speed things up and started sprinting to his apartment. 'You know, I could just change into a raven and fly. But I would have to carry my clothes, not to mention the trouble of opening doors that comes after.' He stopped sprinting and instead just walked silently. 'Are clothes heavy as a raven? Maybe, I am sorta small. That would be the weirdest thing to see at this time. Wait, can I open doors as a raven? I don't think I want to try, yet.' He was in what he called the zone. It's where he just starts thinking and the rest of his body remains on autopilot. It isn't until he hits a tree he realized, he went into the zone again.

Thomas started sprinting and finally he reached his apartment complex. 'I must've been really far if it took this long.' His apartment

was close to the forest which made it more tempting to stay in the forest til dawn. He always told himself to not do that and blend in with his surroundings, by not coming home at 6 AM just to grab coffee. He opened the door to the complex and made the great adventure of going up the stairs. He arrives at his floor and he walked through the empty halls to stop at his door. He fishes out a small key and inserts it into the key hole. He unlocks the door and retrieves his key, then swiftly in one motion he enters and closes his door. "I really need to be here more often." He said to himself as he looked at the dust collecting on his counter top. He chose to just ignore it until tomorrow, since he was already planning to clean his entire apartment that day. For now he walked into his bedroom, which was very plain, only having a bed and a nightstand. He crashed into his bed, submerging his head in his two pillows. While his hand began blindly searching for a book he wanted to finish. His hands grasped the book and he turned over to read it.

Kenneth arrived at the local park and sat at the nearest bench he flipped open his laptop and proceeded to play LOL, but he didn't put his headphones in because he thought it safer to be alert while out here. Which was a great choice on his part he thought as a dog ran across his lap off the bench almost knocking off his computer if he hadnt raised it. He was apparently being chased by what seem to be a dog catcher. Kenneth took no account to it at first until the dog was caught and someone else had entered the park. It was a normal looking girl but that thought was soon shot down as she began to growl. "Well, well this ssshould be interesting." Kenneth smirked and eagerly watched the scene unravel in front of him.

@SuperUnicorn

"So that's the twist. Huh, I expected more from this author." He mumbled to himself as he turned the last page. 'I have nothing to do now.' He let out a sigh and placed the book back onto the nightstand then with a groan he wentered back to laying on the bed.. He just stayed there for a minute like that. "I have nothing to do." He mumbled then sat up to stare at the door. His stomach growled and he remembered he hasn't eaten since noon. So with something to do, he hopped off the bed and walked to the kitchen. Thomas arrived at his kitchen and opened up the fridge. "At least my fridge is full." He said and grabbed out a chicken he had the night before. He cut some of it then placed the cut chicken onto a plate. He walked over to the microwave and heated up his dinner. "After I eat what will I do then? I can't go into the forest, because it might look like I'm insane. I have nothing to buy from the stores, because I did that at the beginning of the week. I don't want to clean, because I want to put that off until tomorrow. Hmm, maybe I'll just adventure around the town. I'll look less weird if I stay in the town." With a ding his dinner was done then he grabbed a fork and he ate lurched over the plate on the counter. 'Maybe I should just by groceries. No, Thomas you planned to walk around the town, so stick with it.' With his hunger now replenished, he marched out his door. 'I can't change my mind now. Also I could by more coffee along the way.' And so he left his apartment then rushed down the stairs.

It wasn't a long walk to get to her apartment, since Nora chose the one closer to the woods. She would of gone for the cheaper one but it was too close to everything. It was a nice place to stay. She sometimes liked to open the windows to see a beautiful view of the forest everyday. Opening the windows was one of the things she would not normally do, because she had to hide herself. Sometimes she would open it for the view, other times to act normal- even with the forest being the only thing there. You never know what is out there.

Nora looked up at the apartment building. It was small with about only 5 floors and wasn't very wide but it had a bit of a modern look to it. She opened to the door going into the the lobby and went up the stairs. She got her key from her pocket and unlocked the door. She had lived here for about 7 months. Though she didn't add much to it, she liked the small, furnished apartment.

She went to her bedroom and lay down. She wasn't going to sleep very long, as usual, because if you were anyone like her, it was hard to. A shifter, a hybrid, even a normal human who is on their side is not safe. She stared blankly at the wall, not in the mood to read right now.

Gina ran toward the dog catcher just he was putting a muzzle on Seven. As she got closer she saw that Seven had already left a pretty nasty bite mark on the human man's hand. She gritted her teeth to keep from growling again at the sight of the muzzle.

"Excuse me sir,what the hell do you think you're doing.' Gina was yelling in the man's face now. He glanced at her as he struggled to restrain the dog.

"What does it look like I'm doing, containing this beast."He grunted.

"Well that would my
beast so would you mind letting him go." He smirked ignoring her and putting the dog in cage. She was losing the little patience she had with this guy.

"Look kid.I see your type all the time,animal rights activist who want to save these muts from the big bad -" Gina pushed with all her strength making him fall with a yelp. She quickly freed Seven. By then the dog catcher had gotten back to his feet. He seized her arm keeping her from going anywhere.

"I'm reporting you to the authorities kid,"He said angrily

As Genesis nears the apartment complex, she spots a guy that looked to be about her age. Walking up to him, she asks, "Hey, do you live here by chance? I'm new here and was wondering if maybe you could snd me in the direction of the main office..?" She attempts to tuck her hair behind her ear, but it just falls back into her face, blocking her left eyesight. Stubborn as always, I see. She internally sighs and looks at the guy for an answer. Soft fur paws at her ankle. Looking down, she sees that Cara is trying to get her attention. So she picks the soft kitten up and cradles her to her chest as best as she can with three suitcases weighing her down.

He exited the complex and was wondering where to go first. 'Coffee shop. I need more energy.' A girl stopped him and asked if he lived here. "Yeah, I live here. The main offices are that way." He said and points in the direction of the office. "Those seem heavy. Want some help?" He offered. 'She looks nice. Remember, be extra polite to women, higher ups, and elders. That's what dad always told me.' He thought and decided coffee could wait a bit.

@BabyDoll

Genesis blushes a little and nods shyly, "Oh, um, you don't mind?" She smiles and sets down some bags. Shifting her phone into her other hand, Cara resituates and begins purring softly again, drifting off into sleep. "I'm thinking about getting a place here," she says, scoping out the area and pointing in the direction of the main office, "It's this way, right?" As they begin walking, Genesis feels eyes boring into her back. Oh no. Please not again. Please don't be them. She doesn't turn around, fearing that if she do so, they'd be there. While they're walking, she silently inquires as to who, possibly "the group", the eyes might belong to and if they are a part of "the group", then how did they find her? Or maybe...there are others in this town. Maybe they're after them. Her eyes are cast downward as they grow nearer to the main office.

He grabs the bags and follows the new girl to the main office. "What's your name? I'm Thomas, but you can call me whatever you want to." He feels as if they are being watched. 'It could be them. I can play off as a normal human, but foxy here won't blend in as much. I could always say we'really cosplaying, but they probably won't buy it. Thomas you're getting ahead of yourself, it could or could not be them. Maybe they'really just another "different".' He keeps quiet after his question and they arrive at the main office.

Anjou was still sitting around in her house for the time being, before eventually getting out of her bed and starting her day. She was likely one of the youngest members of The Group, but that just made it easier to fool the Different, if anything. She had finally managed to get a place of her own, seeing that her parents would've likely disapproved of her job. Anjou was fine with that part, but not the nagging that would ensue. Her job involving shooting Differents with many different kinds of projectiles wasn't very friendly sounding... Getting a licence for handguns and larger firearms took a little, but she had needed to get those just in-case anyone saw her with one. Besides, while what she's doing may not be 100% legal, she actually likes guns quite a bit. Ranged Tasers required a handgun licence, but didn't need a permit to carry in public. Truthfully, she'd much rather stick with waiting for the right moment to strike, typically in an non-populated area. She had heard of some agents going loud and being discovered, which likely didn't end well for them. Most forget that tranquilizers don't kick in immediately, and most take 1-3 minutes to fully work.

While reviewing all this in her head, she was mindlessly eating, going to take a shower, brushing her teeth, and getting dressed. "Just another day in the office." She chuckled at this last bit, remembering a show she liked mentioned this line. She had decided to wear something a bit different today, some people may recognize it, some may just see it as semi-normal wear. Oh who am I kidding, this wear is straight up weird unless the rest of the world is weird. It's rather uniform-like, so some may assume she's just on her way to work... Whatever place would dress like that. The eye-patch doesn't help, unless this place was a cosplay area. That could easily work as a cover if needed, or she could just say she liked the look... Why did she wear an eye-patch everywhere? Well, nobody likes a girl with heterochromia. At least, that's what her 'friends' showed her. But lets save that for another time, since that would make this post too long. Heading outside, she was almost instantly greeted by a situation in the park. A girl and a man, likely a dogcatcher, were fighting over a dog before the girl pushed the man down and the dog ran free. He eventually got back up and grabbed her by the arm.

@SuperUnicorn

Under normal circumstances, she would've tried to get the person out of the pinch she was in, but due to the fact that the girl had pushed first... There was no truly lawful way to get her out. Citizen's Arrest was indeed a thing, so nothing could be done but possible persuasion. Waiting for the light, she eventually headed across to the park, walking over to the two individuals. "Could we just... Calm down?" Anjou looked to the girl whom was being restrained by her arm and mouthed: 'Work with me.' A sigh of faked irritation escaped Anjou's mouth, before she looked at the man. "I 100% understand your reason for being upset with Sarah here, but I have a few reasons why it may be a waste of time to report her. Yes, that is her dog, but it's relatively new. She's been trying to retrain it for her own needs, but it occasionally runs out. Besides that Sarah can be a bit of an idiot at times, an impulsive one at that... I'd really appreciate it if you let her out on a warning, despite what she's done. Y'know, forgive and forget. Of course, if it happens again, you've at least given her a warning, right?"

Anjou clasped her hands together with a nervous and begging expression on her face, hoping this would be enough to fool the guy into letting the girl get off with a warning.

The girl wasnt backing down and seem to be getting festier the longer the dog catcher resisted Kenny was a little Dissapointed that she only pushed the man snd not ripped him to shreds. Then a girl with sn eyepatched showed up trying to talk the girl ohut of it. Andbas the dog catcher exclaimed he was going to called the police Kenny sighed finally deciding to intervene and placed his laptop in his bookbag then put it around his back. He flipped his jacket hood up and walked up to the dog catcher. "Are you ok ssssir." he held out a gloved hand to the man and have his most sincere inocent smile. Thr man eargerly grabbed the hand to help himself up but as soon he grabbed Kenneths glove he flinched and looked in anger as a small line of blood ran down his hand. Apparently a needly was equiped in the glove with some type of poison because few seconds later as the man was about to jump up and tackle Kenny he fainted from the poison he quickly removed the glove and turned to the girl. "Come on letsss get going." he looked at the girl ready to dash out of there as soon as she got up because he was sure soembody had called the authorities by now on both of them.

Gina began to panic. If he called the police they would document her. Documenting meant she would leave a trail for The Group to follow her. Just as Gina was forming a plan of escape as a girl with an eye patch appeared. She seemed to be trying to talk Gina out of the terrible situation she was in. Gigi noticed that the man's grip was becoming a little looser as the girl rambled. When she was sure the man was distracted enough she yanked her arm away causing both of them both to fall.

Just as she was about make a run for someone grabbed her arm. It was a boy. He seemed to have come up from nowhere. "Come on letsss get going," told her. This guy seemed to have a better plan than she took the risk and followed him.
