Artifacts
Artifacts are objects that are linked to a powerful being. Every artifact has magical properties. They might be blessed, or cursed, or both. One can identify what an artifact is and what it does by lighting the Candle of Knowledge next to it and chanting the prayer to Goddess Inraka, or by simply wielding it long enough to get accustomed to it.
Sword of Unseen Mornings
The only artifact linked with Goddess Inraka. It is often depicted as a two-handed sword shrouded in bandage. There is a rumor that whoever wields the sword will be granted any wish they want.
Goddess Inraka
Often referred to as just "the Goddess", Goddess Inraka is worshiped widely throughout the Empire. Often depicted as a warrior wielding her Sword, she is (as the religion says) the protector of warriors, overseer of the Empire, and mother to all living things. Oddly enough, unlike other deities, she has no contractors (clerics or paladins) under her - some says it's because she is too powerful to meddle into mortal realm, while others say it's simply due to the fact that mortal bodies cannot handle her immense power. Nevertheless, she is widely revered by both peasants and nobles alike.
The Empire
Officially called Kari'tor but often referred as simply "the Empire" among its citizens. Famous for its persecution of warlocks.
Examples of its cities include (but is not limited to):
Navaron: A small desert town at the edge of civilization. Famous for jewelries and decorative succulents.
Elrish: A middle-sized city near the forest. There is a conflict between farmers and hunters on what to do with local forest: to keep it, or to convert it into a farmland. Despite the animosity between two power groups, it is expanding rapidly. There is a rumor that its forest is enchanted.
Marador: A coastal trade town of all things, whether it is legal or illegal. Sailors and pirates coexist here, but there are occasional disputes. Popular for its faux "mermaid pelt", which are made out of ground seashells and leather. Has a strong navy. Sea captains are revered here.
The Temple
There is a temple (which also acts a barrack) dedicated to Inraka located not too far away from Navaron. It is built on top of an abandoned mine. The locals noticed an increase in troops lately - now there seems to be a small army stationed there, for no apparent reason. You will begin the adventure here, trying to infiltrate through the defenses to access the mines so you can venture deeper.
