lord of misrule
The Dead River MC is a biker gang based outside of and operating within Boston and the surrounding area. While predominantly concerned with many sundry crimes, they are also inescapably tangled in a web of local criminal politics. Between keeping the local mob happy, keeping the Saints of Ragnarok at bay, and making sure they keep clean of the cops, they are very busy folks.
Also, some of them have superpowers. That complicates things.

The Aurora Syndicate: the local mob, made up of various superpowered entities. Wants the superpowered members of the DRMC to work for them. Allies, but like. Nervously. Bigger fish on the crime hierarchy. Based out of Boston proper.
- Naiysu Quill: head of the Aurora Syndicate. Tiny, albino, unfailingly polite.
- Devin Murphy: Quill's second in command and protégé. Tiny, freckled, eminently punchable.
- Seph: small time Syndicate contact in Manchester. The guy your DARE class warned you about.
The Family: Strong Brotherhood of Evil vibes. Mutant rights/mutant supremacy is one of their main goals. A sort of mutual aid activist group with hidden extremist tendencies trying to recruit and influence in any direction. They’re a new force in the world and the wild card. Base location uncertain.
- Insomnia: You're not sure exactly what her role in the Family is, but she's the one you bump into the most. Not to be fucked with.
The Saints of Ragnarok: Want the DRMC to patch in under them. Don’t like competition and don’t play nice. Rivals, despite that they are also bigger fish. Some 10 years ago they did team up with the Dead River MC to obliterate the local Nazi biker group, but the alliance didn't outlast the mutual enemy.
- Wolf: the president of the Saints. Reasonable, responsible, and ruthless.
Cops: ACAB. Deliciously, the various law enforcement offices don't always get along.
- Finn Dolan: US Marshall. Proves that being lawful good is not the same as being nice.
- Christopher Faulkner: Dead River's sheriff. Thinks that having the DRMC around keeps worse criminals away.
Locals:
- Feliks Alkaev: The undertaker, and our friend in the morgue. He is soft spoken, incredibly tidy and has a thick Slavic accent.
- Tom Finch: A med school drop out like Charlie, the two of them have invented a drug that suppresses powers.
- Kitty McKay: Cathal's little sister. She hangs out with the gang often, but her crew is the local roller derby team. Pigtails and a baseball bat.
Not thought of positively by most of the general population (wow surprise it is a metaphor). I'm not going to define what is/isn't allowed too strictly, but generally we're looking for concise concepts, very classic X-men in brevity but able to be used cleverly in scope. No one in the crew is going to be too highly powerful most likely, unless they're trying to hide it.
The Dead River MC's claim to fame is their invention of a drug that suppresses powers, which they sell to anyone needed to squeak their way up in society by passing entrance tests to prove they're unpowered.
Map WIP
(Please note: though based on reality, this is a version of Boston slightly to the left, much like the New York of Into the Spider-Verse.)
Dead River-home base. A former small mill town, Dead River had long since seen its glory days come and go. It's a fairly quiet place to live.
Boston-the Hub. New England's largest city and cultural, financial, and criminal heart.
Worchester-did you know there's Massachusetts west of Woostah? Strange but true!
Manchester-the largest city in New Hampshire, and an excellent place for small crimes.
Laconia-a little resort town on Lake Winnipesauke where the Saints hold an annual meet up/bike festival.
Burlington--a fairly large town on Lake Champlain, near Canada.
Portsmouth-not to be confused with Portland, Maine. There's a naval base close by.
Portland-not to be confused with Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Lobsters???
Bar Harbor-a popular resort town on the coast.
A record of past misdeeds
