Backstory

Born in the 1820s in Germany, Freddie grew up with an alcoholic and abusive step-father, though his mother loved him dearly. His father barely noticed Freddie except to treat him roughly, so he did not notice his son's wolf tail- his mother did however and went to great lengths to help her son hide it from the world at large. Freddie's father died when he was a teen in an accident. When Freddie turned around 20, he stopped aging; to protect his mother, he began traveling, moving westward and eventually, when the Great Depression hit the world he moved across the ocean to America, where he integrated into the New York Downworlder scene, developing a friendship with Magnus Bane. He would eventually help a young orphan named Antonio Daniels, a mundane with the Sight, get a job at the New York Institute.

Backstory

Much of Antonio's younger life is a mystery. Always able to see the supernatural, all he remembers from his childhood was seeing monsters attack his family. Who his family was, he cannot remember; therapists say he likely blocked the memories as a child due to the trauma. Antonio somehow was picked up by a kindly lady and was introduced to the US Foster system. He bounced around for a few years until he happened to meet Freddie Gaerwulf, who recognized him as clear-sighted and introduced him to the New York institute. Raised there as a staff member of the institute, he also was trained to fight should the need arise.
