THE DAWN BRINGER
Multi-Pargraph | Steampunk | Pirate Hunters
*BBCode Note: If you'd rather read without the hidden scroll/small text, an uncoded version is available at the bottom of the post.
Introduction
Essentially, our characters will be pirate-hunters with the goal of exterminating all the sky pirates. This roleplay is going to be set in a steampunk setting, so there will be mostly steam-powered technology. While there won't be anything too fancy, you will be given a lot of freedom regarding your technology. The setting is going to be a mixture of a "wild west" vibe mixed in with some Victorian elements.
The world of this roleplay is going to be entirely fictional. You will be welcome to help worldbuild and make up as many places as your heart desires, and the world itself is going to have a high-fantasy kind of feel (notably the only race available will be humans). Once the CS thread is up I will be writing up a lot more world information such as important locations as well as some history so be prepared to read a lot of lore. Other than that, welcome to this high-fantasy, steampunk, pirate-hunting, fantasy-ish roleplay.
Character Info
Player characters will all be crew members on the Dawn Bringer. All regular crew roles will be available, however there is a catch: you won't be able to pick your role! I will be assigning roles based on character sheets and individual character's skills, though it's probably going to be pretty easy to tailor a character to a certain role. All characters must be above the age of 22. Each player will be allowed to have two characters (potentially three if you want), but only need one.
We will also be using a point-based system for skills. This will not be a dice roleplay, but skill points will factor in on the likelihood of your character's success in fights (I like to think of myself as a benevolentdictator GM so as long as you write your character doing something it'll get done, but if for instance if you're a chef trying to kill a dragon you're not going to do much damage). There will be character death if your character does something that will get them killed. Again, I'm a benevolent dictator GM so I won't kill characters off willy-nilly, but if Mr. Chef walks up to the dragon and hits it with a spatula he will die.
I, haven't decided if I'm going to have a player character yet or not, but I will have the majority of control over the plot and most of the actions villains on the roleplay take. You can expect this to be an action-heavy roleplay largely centered around fighting.
OOC Info
The Dawn Bringer is going to be a fairly selective, small-group pirate hunter roleplay. I am looking for a maximum of 3-4 people to join (I'm already GMing a large group rp so I want this one to stay small!). If there are more than 4 people interested, I will have to admit people based on character sheets and if it gets really competitive (which I doubt lol) I will also take 1x1 samples. With that out of the way, here are some requirements for this roleplay:
Introduction
There have always been pirates.
However, after humans took to the skies, the terrible reign of the Pirate Age began. Lacking the infrastructure to command the air, the government was unable to enforce order upon the airborne scoundrels and soon the skies were infested with pirates. The crisis has gotten so bad that civilians no longer attempt to travel in airships out of fear of being raided, and only high-security government airships have legal permission to fly the skies.
Of course, that doesn't stop the thousands of pirate fleets that are the non-disputed kings of the sky. But now the governments of the world have finally decided it is time the Pirate Age comes to an end and has sent out airships manned with some of the best fighters and crew-members from across the world, all tasked with purging the skies of those against the law.
Our task? To show that, even after the darkest hour of this Pirate Age, there always comes a dawn.
Welcome to The Dawn Bringer.

- Be capable of writing more than three paragraphs for one character! I know that quantity isn't always quality, but I'm not sure how else to monitor for the literacy level I'm looking for?... Essentially, if you feel yourself struggling to think of content to include in your posts beyond the one/two paragraph point, maybe look at a different rp. c: As GM, I promise I will give you plenty of stuff to respond to though!
- Be able to post around once a week. More than that would be optimal, but seeing as I'm asking for longer post length I know that can take time. ^-^ I'm just wary of slowing down the rp's pace too much and having it die!
- Be willing to chat OOC! Since this is going to be a small group, I'd love it if I got input on potential plot elements or have help worldbuilding.
- If you've read this far (sorry it's been kinda long), include a fruit in your post!
