Welcome to Moonstone Falls!

(check the lore page for some quick info on the town)

Maybe your character has lived here forever
or
maybe they just recently arrived.

Either way, the cure now resides in this town.

Do you want it? If you do, why?
Or maybe you don't give a damn about the cure.

Selena Zabielski

Location: work
Feeling: exhausted
Interacting With: open
Mentions: open

Selena was ready to go.

She'd been at the bar since it opened around eleven that morning, and now it was around eight PM. Hopefully she'd be cut soon, and could pass along whatever was left of her tables to Marissa, the other waitress for the night. Well, one of them, but one of the few that Selena actually trusted. Despite being young herself, Selena didn't trust most people her age. Up until she was seventeen, though, she hadn't been like that. But watching your family get attacked and being defenseless to help... well, it changes a person.

With a sigh, Selena wiped down the table she'd just bussed. Straightening, she glanced around the bustling bar, but there was no manager in sight. Plastering her best customer service smile on her face, she went to one of the few tables she had left, making sure they didn't need anything before disappearing into the kitchen.

Moonstone Falls wasn't a bad town. Selena was lonely, though, being one of the seven families to guard the cure. When she'd first arrived, Selena hadn't been sure who to trust. She'd guarded the cure with her life, because that's what she'd been instructed to do. But when she had found the other families, they'd sworn a blood oath with each other. The cure went from house to house, hidden, but never kept in one place for too long. They were the only ones to know of its location.

As Selena dropped the rag in the bucket, she sighed again and then made her way back out to the main area. Someone had just been seated in her section. She pursed her lips, then put her smile back on as she headed in that direction.

VERONICA SIMMONS

It had been a bad couple of years, to say the least.

Veronica was tired. Tired of being a vampire, of not being able to enjoy the sun, of not being able to pursue her dreams of being in the spotlight due to fear of being discovered, of dreading all kinds of new relationships- for she knew it would only be a matter of time before they died and left her alone. A feeling she was all too well accustomed to. Fortunately, there was a way out. Years ago, she'd met a fellow vampire. One who shared the same distaste for immortality she did, and told her about a cure, so rare that only few knew about its location, that could turn any supernatural being into a human. Veronica knew this cure was most likely false, or too difficult and dangerous to obtain. But it was worth the try. Anything was better than living in such an inescapable state of suffering, even death.

Even before she'd become a vampire, Veronica had preferred the city over small towns and villages. How could she not? With their grandeur, glamour, and excitement, it was hard not to love the city life. After her transformation, the city proved to be the perfect hideout for a vampire like herself. Lots of people meant not everyone knew each other, and disappearances (especially of those who kept to themselves and only had a few acquaintances) were more likely to go unnoticed. That, and the nightlife proved to be more energising and entertaining than daytime, meaning Veronica never found herself short of job opportunities at the local bars. Her lifestyle, however, had recently taken a drastic turn. After hearing rumours of a small town known as "Moonstone Falls," that was said to hide the cure she was so desperately searching for. With no other alternatives, Veronica packed her bags and made her way to the town, eager to find the answer to all her problems.

She'd only just arrived to the town the previous night, and had spent her first day sleeping and settling into her new apartment. There was, however, still a lot of work to be done. She needed to find a job, to fit in with the locals and try to avoid anyone talking about the newcomer; which is why she found herself in the town's bar. She noticed they had a stage. Small, cramped, and definitely not what she was used to, but it would serve as a temporary job just fine. She also hadn't found any new victims in a while, and was starting to feel the effects of hunger start to weaken her. She had to find a lonely victim- one who wouldn't be missed by the rest of the town. A bar seemed to be the perfect place to look for one. There had to be at least one lonely loser hiding amongst the tables and small crowd. All she had to do was strike up a bit of conversation and see if they were fit to be her victims.

After entering the bar, Veronica was quickly seated in the main section. Already settled in her chair, she began to scan the crowds looking for potential victims. Most were accompanied by someone, and the ones who weren't were either talking on their phones, or the waitresses. She briefly considered using the waitresses, but figured it would be too dangerous to pick someone with a job. She couldn't have their coworkers or boss start asking questions, after all. With a heavy sigh, Veronica pulled her notepad out of her bag, along with her fountain pen. Figuring if she couldn't find a victim, she could at least continue her research on the cure. So far, she didn't have much to go on. Other than the fact the cure was hidden by a witch. One no one had seen in years.

"Just give me your strongest drink," she muttered once her waitress arrived, not really focusing on her order or the waitress herself, "but make it cheap, and make sure it's not one of those weird drinks with garlic people make these days. I've got allergies."

Amber Brightwood

The woman stepped in trough the foyer of the restaurant and exchanged a wave with one of the waitstaff. Most of the tables there were empty. She pointed to one and raised her eyebrows, the waitress nodded, and Amber signed her thanks and took her seat at the two-person table. It wasn't that she was a regular there--though technically she was--but that everyone who had been here a while either knew or knew of her, with positive connotations.
Amber made her way to the bar because she hadn't been in about a week, was out of leftovers and not in the mood to cook, and was fond of the berry salad with its vinaigrette that was served here. She ordered silently, which wasn't out of place for her, and sipped her water while she waited for her food. Glancing around the space she noticed an unfamiliar face, whose eyes seemed to be doing the same thing. Amber's eyebrows knit together a bit. It wasn't common she saw or met anyone she didn't already know. Of course, since another coven in this town had acquired the 'cure,' lots of new people had begun to arrive. This must be one of those people.
