Fantasy The Cult of Illithiss

"I am Stendant!"

Stendant howled in pain and struggled to get away, he did not understand other languages very well either.

He grabbed Stendant by the throat and raised him up.

"What made you think I was ripe for your petty pickpocketing,hmm?"

One of the guards cheered at him "BREAK HIS NECK!" and after 4 awkward seconds the others cheered too.

"One reason,scum.Gol'kosh...I don't like playing games,lizard...One good reason to not follow my superior's orders,hmm? Just one..."

Stendant had fear run around in his mind, he turned pale at the guards cheering.

"No need to be rash right orc"

Stendant was still struggling to get away, Byorn at his feet just sitting there

"If my coins were what you desired you should have just asked and I would've lent you some..."

A younger Gor would have severed the draconian's head. But this Gor knew better.

"Gah...Ogg'Zugas...Leave my sight."

He let him down and pushed him away.

"You are lucky today,thief. If we would've met 20 years ago...I may have not been as kind."

Stendant fell on his back as he was pushed, and struggled to his feet.

"Come Byorn"

Stendant started to walk away but Byorn did not want to move and sat at Gor's feet.

"Heh...your pet seems to have taken a liking to me...Byorn,is it?"

Gor looked at the lizard.

The knight shouted at Gor to get moving,visibly dissapointed as there was no bloodshed or violence.

"I'm sorry,little one,but duty calls."

Stendant picked up Byorn and ran off in the opposite direction of Gor.

Stendant in his haste did not realize he had dropped the map of a tomb, leaving it in the open.

"Goodbye pale one!"

He sighed audibly and brought his hand to his brow and shouts at him

"You forgot your stupid map...I am seriously wondering how you got so far in life being so messy..."

One of the guards grabbed the map.

(Should the guard rip it to pieces or do you have more plans for it?)

(no i don't have further plans for it, so rip it)

"I did not..."

Stendant looks at his pouch and sees the map gone.

"Here ill come get it...actually can you bring it here, i would rather not be humiliated further"

"Human,please it's not-"

As soon as the guard held it up he scratched his helmet and ripped it to shreds looking proud of himself.

"I am simply surrounded by idiots."

Stendant screams extreme profanity in draconian tongue and sprints towards Gor, most draconians are extremely agile.

Byorn is riding on stendant's shoulder,with his tongue hanging out.

"That was my life orc!"

After that easy acceptance, Eithalia was struck. She hadn't the faintest idea what to do next. After all, she had never decided to do such a thing. Noticing her insightful pause had not escaped the attention of the guards who were watching her, she stammered

"Yes. Of course. Very well then..."

The guards looked at her, with a humorous glint in their eye. They had never imagined her being flustered.

"Well?" Euthalia snapped. "Shall we commence to do... Whatever it is we shall do?"

"Not anymore it isn't...imbeciles." He said the last word under his breath.

"Are you goning to stall me any longer or can I go to this village?"

Given this situation Gor was getting quite annoyed. He gestured towards the knight to keep moving.

"What are you doing,orc...giving me orders?"

Gor couldn't believe how much of an idiot this human was.

"If you may...we have a village to protect,sire."

Fenris was outside the village, reading a notice. "They need capable men to fight." He said, heading over to the tavern. "If they meant human men, they might as well be fighting a war with children." He said, having a distaste for humans, having witnessed their incompetence countless of times.

He entered the tavern, looking imposing and intimidating. Standing at over 6 ft, he towered over most of the patrons of the tavern. He went towards the guards, who were obviously mortified and terror stricken. "I seek to become a guard of Meadowcreek." He said to the nearest guard, who merely nodded, too afraid to say anything else.

The orc left Stendant to pick up the mess made by the human. After some time he saw a few towers and a big gate.

He thought about Stendant following him,but not too much.

The knight gestured towards the guards to open the gates. They seemed just as mindblown as him when he saw the orc too.

"This one wants to be a guard."

One of the guards in the towers murmered to another.

"The river spirit and now an orc? This is turning into a freak show."

"Is it even an orc? He's so pale,just look at it"

They opened the gates and let them in.

"It's unusual, perhaps, but he's definitely an orc, yes," a female voice said as she popped up on the side of the road. About half her face was covered in the shadow of a broad-rimmed hat. Still the amused smile on her face was clearly visible. She was about as tall as an average human, but more slender in build.

"Gentlemen," she tipped the rim of her hat and slipped through the gates with the orc and the guards.

"Not so fast you!" one of the guards called out to her. "What's your business in Alajana's Rest?"

"Oh? Checking in on anyone passing through the gates now? I'm just a bard passing through. Got a message from the guild there might be a task for me." That said, she simply walked on through the gates.

~~~
Several people muttered things under their breath at the sight of the wolf-man walking into the tavern. None dared to speak louder than a whisper, out of fear of angering this imposing figure. And that... monster wanted to aid Meadowcreek? Now, that was an oddity.
"Go away, fleabag!" a particularly drunk patron of the inn called out, making several others gasp for air and slowly move to the far corners of the room.
((Totally not initiating a tavern brawl here))
~~~

"We're still arranging people, milady," one of the guards said. "The village is in need of people, and so far, we haven't had many answering our call."

"Where do we go from here,sire?"

The orc asked the knight. He was not used to the human buildings as his expeditions were not far from the mountain.

He noticed the slender woman.

"Greetings,bard!"

His people were taught honor from a ripe age. Unlike the other clans,which were taught honor comes in battle,he knew it didn't have to be kept there only.

Fenris heard that, and he glared at the man. Moving with unbridled speed, he was in front of the drunk, carrying him by his shoulders. "Say that one more time, and you'll be leaving here in a body bag, your guts spill, your limbs dismembered, understand?" He growled, his voice a deep rumble. The drunk nodded, a wet patch forming in his pants. He dropped him and went over to the guard, waiting for instructions.

"Greetings," she greeted the orc. She pulled back her hat a little, revealing a pair of bright green eyes, looking up at the pale orc with curiosity.

"I've heard tales of the pale orcs, but I never thought to see one. It's unusual for the likes of you to leave the mountains, isn't it?" she asked. This orc was a curious sight. But not as curious as what she heard the guards say before. Something about a river spirit?

~~~
The guard nervously shuffled around, afraid him would wait the same fate if he would say the wrong thing to this monster. But, on the bright side, maybe his wolf would frighten the goblins enough to leave the people alone?
"W-well... W-w-w-we don't yet know how many p-people there are who'll help. We need to hear from m-more people. We should head to the a-adventurers guild. There we'll likely meet others who'll help."
"It's quite the story,but I left my clan. The chieftain and I had our differences..."
He pointed at the big orcish skull on his shoulder. After they were let in the orc asked the guard where he should go now.
"To the adventurer's guild" he said.
One moment later a big wolf creature left what looked like another tavern. He'd seen very big wolves when outside the caves,but never a hybrid such as this, it was almost as big as him.
"I know the idea... Sorta," the bard smiled. "Being a half-blood, y'know?"
She nodded at the guard as the adventurers guild was mentioned. "I need to be around there too. Possibly I'll be send back and forth between the Entertainers and the Adventurers a couple of times today. They like to do that, sending people on useless tasks. Like "go get that book for me there." "say thank you to him for me". You get that when they know you, but you're not quite a part of the guilds." She let out a small sigh and shrugged. "Not that I should be bothering any of you with that kind of trivial information."
Seconds later, when the wolf man came out of the inn, she wasn't sure whether she should jump aside, or get closer. She didn't know of any wolf people. A far away race maybe? Or something different? Either way, it was kind of interesting to her.
"Running errands was not cut for me. I was the Sovereign of my people. I think that's the equivalent of a field commander to humans. And what do you mean by half-blood?"
Seeing her curiosity with the wolfman the orc couldn't help but to inspect him. Nothing special in particular,aside from the fact that he was some sort of hybrid. He wondered if the wolfman was born like this or turned into a beast.
The wolf probably noticed them.
"My mother's an elf, my father's a human. I've never met either of them. The elves raised me, but being a half-blood does cause some differences and problems. It caused me to eventually leave them and find my own way in life." She was somewhat surprised she talked so easily. Perhaps it was because someone showed curiosity towards her story, instead of she only being curious about them? Ah well...
"So what brings an orc to the city, together with guards, more specifically?"
"After killing the chieftain without challanging him, the only honorable thing to do was leave the clan. If not then complications would ensue. We are not like our barbaric or shamanistic brothers. We are mostly miners and craftsmen. My people combine wits and brute strength. What is your name,elf?"
The orc explained his people's traditions. He had little to no interaction with other races. Only with the red orcs and a little with the shamans of the different tribes. He heard stories and he was curious.
Fenris followed the guard to this adventurers guild. It was pretty bland, everything was normal except for two things. One, a pale orc was there and two, there's someone talking to him. He headed over to those two, knowing they're more open minded compared to the rest of the people here. "Fenris Blackthorne." He introduced himself to the two.
