Biography:
Born to an ambitious gangster father and a woman out for revenge Jin wasn’t exactly a planned child. He had been trained by his father ever since he was old enough for it and learned how to shoot a gun at an early age. But despite his learned skills his father forbid him to join the gang or commit any crimes until he would give permission for it.

Jin’s father and mother had secretly planned how to get her the revenge she had craved for years and when they put their plan in motion things went south. Jin’s parents died and the gang took in a now fourteen-year-old Jin. The gang leaders bodyguard adopted and raised Jin, teaching him what he needed to know in order to raise in rank.

By the time the gang leader started messing things up, Jin was already very high in rank despite his young age. When the boss fired Jin’s adoptive father Jin started realizing things were getting more and more out of hand. The last straw was when the man kidnapped a high profile target (the police chiefs four-year-old son) that would get the entire police force to raise hell if they found out they were involved, so Jin secretly freed the boy and started planning the coup.

Brenner is incredibly quick and clever able to throw out quips and witty one-liners without any thought or effort. It is an automatic response as instinctive as breathing. Much of his humor is situational and while he does know some good 'dad-jokes' he remembers reading while browsing the internet, random memorized jokes aren't really his forte. While Brenner can be quite funny especially if someone has similar humor, it isn't always appreciated as Brenner is a very blunt person. This isn't due to some need to speak honestly, but rather born from his oblivious and awkward nature. He doesn't pick up very well on social ques.. or at all. He is very much the type to make a joke at a funeral then realize from the sudden silence that was probably not the appropriate thing to do and then make a joke about how he made a joke at the wrong time. So, one can imagine that people's 'off-limits' topics are not off-limit to Brenner and he will poke fun at a lot of things people hold sacred or ruin emotional moments in ways only he can. This can, with the right person, be endearing, but it can just as often be incredibly abrasive and make people dislike him.

Just like his social graces resemble a bull in a china shop, Brenner is a bull in all aspects of his life. Once he decides on a course of action, he does it. While he may fret and dance foot to foot as he ponders the situation, thinks about what to do or not do.. the second he settles on an answer, he lowers his horns and charges away. He doesn't stop to reconsider his action or choice and won't stop until he has accomplished what he has set out to do even if that means he doesn't sleep for a week and is stuck eating dry cereal because he hasn't left his apartment for just as long. And, oh boy, is it hard to get him to budge when he sets his feet. If he believes he is in the right, if he believes he is doing what he must do or simply doesn't want to do what they want, it takes all that forces of heaven and earth to get him to relent. Considering he can be quite opinionated this can cause some ruffling of feathers.

Due to a mixture of his upbringing and oblivious nature, Brenner tends to be trusting. He tends to believe in people and takes their word at face value. He doesn't look for ques people are lying nor does he assume they are lying. He tends to just go with the flow of what they say or ignores it completely. This has gotten him into trouble in the past when he has been manipulated. The second he finds out he has been tricked or lied to, that someone has betrayed his trust, that is it. He never extends the olive branch again because if there is anything Brenner can do, its hold a grudge. He still gets mad, to this day, about a girl who insulted him in the lunch room in 6th grade. He may be tricked one, spurned, but he will never be tricked twice because that person will never, ever, regain his trust again and, from that moment on, he wants nothing to do with them, will make mean-spirited jokes not caring if he hurts them and himself and they are dead to him.

Biography

Brenner's life was pretty standard. Single mother, three siblings, poor family. Got into MIT through a scholarship, the 'hope of the family', the best chance at moving up in the world and bringing his family with them, especially, his siblings who, the youngest of, was five years his junior. It was all so nice. He'd graduate, get a great job with six figures, help his mom with her bills and help get his siblings through college, find a nice girl and settle down. Of course, the last bit was a little rough as he wasn't exactly suave having only had a single girlfriend in his entire life and that... didn't end well. So, it was.. with some surprise then, in his senior year, he met a girl. A girl unlike anyone other. She was mysterious, intelligent, dangerous and beautiful, oh so beautiful.. and almost unbelievable, for some reason, she was interested in him. Not his friend who was on the fast track to the NFL, not his friend that was the son and heir to a large conglomerate... but him. The kid from the Midwest with no money and a brain three sizes too big. Perhaps, if he had been smarter, wiser, he would have known it was too good to be true.

He fell for her, hook, line and sinker and he fell hard. So, when she came to him with tears in her eyes and a sob story about how she needed money because her little brother was sick... a story that hit him exactly where it mattered, he helped. Brenner stole 2.3 million dollars from the kind of people someone wouldn't want to steal a dime from. Next thing he knew he was tied to a chair and being told he now belonged to the family. They had evidence of what he had done and if he didn't work for them they would release that information to the police and the people he stole from and they'd make a game of it to see which of the two got to him first. Left with no choice, Brenner agreed... And, of course, he saw her. She had tricked him. Used him. Because he had been stupid and thought with his heart instead of his head. He hasn't dated since.

In the last few years he has helped them transfer money anonymously, helped them launder it, erased the identities of people and created new ones, found people that were once thought impossible to trace through their electronic fingerprints, broken into and robbed their rivals without ever stepping a foot outside of his bedroom... and protected their assets from the same. Brenner wasn't 'a' tech guy, he was 'the' tech guy. He got paid well. Which didn't make it less dirty or help him sleep any better, but he was able to keep part of his promise to his mom helping her with payments and helping his siblings through college even if he has to lie to her and all his family about what he does. When certain members were planning their coup, they approached Brenner, because of course they did. Something like this wasn't done unless you had the guy who could hack everyone's phones, planners and lives on your side or in the grave. Brenner agreed under the condition he'd be allowed to walk once it was all said and done. It was all said and done.. he wasn't allowed to walk. Which, in hindsight, he should have known. He had become rather integral and hard to replace, and more importantly, knew far, far too much about how the gang worked, where their assets were and was far, far to skilled in making people disappear to be allowed to do so himself. He had been tricked. Again. New owner. New 'leader'. Same shit.

  Ask anyone who works with Vinny and they'll tell you he's one of the best guys on the force. He's charming and playful if a bit cynical. He's the kind of guy you just know is somebodies little brother, some one's weird cousin, making him feel like some sort of dad in training-- he's already got the weir jokes down pat. There is something about him that is wild but just well contained enough to be harmless. His temper is cold and aloof and the target of his wrath might never know they had it coming-- shit just happens to them. Karma seems to be in his pocket, but really he has the gang in his pocket and he protects himself and his own. At his core he's level headed, practical and decent. His sense of fairness in intense, however he has no problem being judge jurry and executioner if he can get away with it. He thinks the Gang should do its business with a certain sense of honor and absolutely always look after its own first and foremost. He very clearly thinks of organized crime as separate from crime committed by ordinary citizens, and this belief is key to his compartmentalization. He thinks the gang is running well when its most invisible and that the gangs activities for the most part do not affect the average person and are thus, not really a problem morally-- Its just business. Messy business.
  
  Vinny does good work with his domestic violence cases. He cares about those a lot. Its the type of law he actually can get behind. He's a hypocrite but at least he does some good in the world. He's fiercely loyal and the gang is his family. His Intel is key to a lot of their operations and their ability to run under the radar. He doesn't do much dirty work himself but he organizes the gang's safe houses and makes sure they stay safe from the authorities.

  Vinny was a foundling, taken in by the gang leader when he was too young to remember. He knows he was the son of a power rival, but the gang is the only family he's ever known. He started working in his early teens and by time he was old enough to be a threat the Gang leader offered to pay his way through the police academy. The boss pitched this as a way for him to live a normal life, expressing some unwanted remorse for using him as spiteful postmortem revenge against his late father. Vinny knew it was most likely because he didn't have a record and could pull it off. So he did it. Because no was not something you said when the boss was offering you a gift. He was already a criminal jack of all trades when he entered the police academy so switching sides to be a beat cop for a while felt a bit like cheating- and so many of the cops were worse than the people he'd grown up with. Vinny has never been an active participant in the shape of his future, having taken what was offered and demanded of him in a career. After the coup he would very much like to quit the force- perhaps taking on another roll, perhaps continuing to manage the safe houses. If he's being honest he'd like to find some one good to kiss and open up a private investigation office, but those sort of dreams seem out of reach.
  
  The Boss's recent incompetence and made both his job at the precinct and his role in the gang hell. He is stressed, a mess and ready to throw hands. He felt at the start of it that gigs were being ruined to make his life personally difficult and worried he had angers some one inside the gang, Looking into it though found more and more incompetence-- It was time for a change.

  Bas has the sort of personality often seen in border collies: smart, driven, and destroys the furniture when he doesn’t have a job to do. He approaches most things like a puzzle to be solved or a game to be won, and keeps at it until he's succeeded, at which point he frequently discards tasks or hobbies and moves on to the next. These fixations can be anything from preparing for a hit, learning a new language, to getting involved with street racing.
  
  He's also very adept at social situations and manipulating people, and tends to treat most conversations as puzzles to be won as well, unless you're very close friends. This can make him either superficially charming or deeply uncomfortable to be around, depending on what he's trying to work you into doing.
  
  Bas is also a career criminal and hitman, and as such, he treats violence with the same sort of easy banality that he treats grocery shopping. It's just business; he typically has no personal feelings in any of it and is just doing his job. When it is personal, you'll know.
  
  Strengths: Cunning, resourceful, adaptable.
  Weaknesses: A very soft spot for his younger brother, and his crew.
  
  
• Sebastian Parrino started life as a minor scandal, and things have continued mostly at the same pace for him. His mother, Maria, was a contract killer hired by the then new and struggling gang on their rise to power, and she eventually agreed to marry Louis Parrino, though the wedding was roughly a year after Bas came around. And while he was occupied with growing and maintaining his power, Maria was free to raise Bas as her heir, rather than Louis'. Bas's early life was rather like a young Olympic hopeful's, dedicated to training, but rather than learning gymnastics or wrestling, he learned spycraft and warfare.
  
  His younger brother Nicholas joined the family when Bas was seven years old, and Sebastian is and has always been a devoted and protective big brother. Not sharing Bas's drive to be as dangerous as their mother, Nicky had a much more conventional childhood, though he still learned more about guns and self-defense than most.
  
  Maria passed away almost two years ago, and Bas places her death at the start of his father's decline. Though Bas and Louis were never particularly close, their relationship has soured spectacularly since Bas took up his mother's role of troubleshooter. He honestly can't tell if his father's downward spiral is to spite him, or if he's hardly an afterthought in it.
  
  He's joined the coup because his mother drilled loyalty to the organization as a whole over loyalty to the individuals in it--and if his father is the weak link, and a danger to the rest of them, then he has to go. He has to look after the rest of his family, after all.

Appearance: James does not possess a lean, athletic, superman-like body but is still surprisingly strong for his round appearance. He is not too fond of jewelry and thus seldom where any. He is however usually seen wearing his trademark silver watch wherever he goes. He also prefers to keep himself presentable, staying clean, well-groomed, and appropriately dressed wherever he goes.

Personality:

It would not be inaccurate to call James a narcissistic asshole with a silver forked tongue. Smooth talking, amoral, and self-serving he navigates the underworld with a ruthlessness and finesse befitting of someone familiar with the ways its people. Despite this, nobody really knows much about this man or what drives him to do what he does. He apparently has no love for money, no hunger for power, no lust for women even if he does admit that these can have their uses. If anything, he seems to break rules simply for the sake of breaking them, having little respect for any sort of authority in general.
There is nobody James loves more, and nobody who loves him more, than himself. This combined with his ego which teeters between confidence and arrogance has given him a slight god complex, seeing the world as nothing more than a toy box for his entertainment. People, likewise, have very little value to him if he has no use for them. Interestingly, he is still very protective of those he calls his friends due to his perception that they "belong" to him.

Biography:
As James is one of the relatively newer members of the gang, most only have a vague knowledge of his history. He was born in the middle of four siblings with a negligent mother and a father who was "tough" with his family. During his adolescence, James was a troublemaker, getting into fights and taking work of dubious nature. Even though he was arrested a number of times growing up, he never changed his ways and continued to get into trouble. As a young adult, James seemingly tried to clean up his act but still ended up dropping out of school. From there, he joined the army, serving for a short while before being discharged for insubordination.
Without work, education, and with an extensive criminal record, James eventually returned to a life of crime. He started out as a small time drug dealer though he expanded his repertoire as time went on. Drug trafficking, debt collection, pimping, James did almost everything. After several years, he became known as the go to criminal-for-hire, a mercenary willing to do what others would not from blackmailing to trafficking to even murder.
James was still James however, and even after several years of traveling the country working for various individuals and organization, he remained officially unaffiliated with any gang or faction. This allowed him to play for multiple sides in conflicts which meant more business as well as more enemies. Still, the amount of information and connections he has gathered kept him nearly untouchable as it was in everyone's interest to keep him quite and out of enemy hands.
James joined the gang as an associate, supplying the gang as a weapons trafficker without ever officially being initiated into the group. As such, when the boss sent men with guns to inform James that his position was to become permanent, James was less than pleased. Slightly miffed about being forced to stay against his will, James came to the only logical conclusion he could. It was time for this boss to go.

Other:
While James is ambidextrous, he prefers using whichever hand is wearing the watch. That being said, he often arbitrarily moves his watch from wrist to wrist.​

Personality:
Edith can be mean and cold but she’s actually just a big softie underneath all the big mean menacing glares and quick comebacks. She doesn’t like showing weakness especially being surrounded by a bunch of guys. She gets quite insecure that she won’t live up to the expectations of the groups and that tends to make her lash out in anger because she doesn’t have a positive outlet for her anger.

Edith is a free spirit and doesn’t like being told what to do. She would rather do her own thing. Eden depends very heavily on the company of others even if she hates being so dependent on others she can’t help it. She struggles with depression and hates rejection. Overall she’s pretty unstable and to cover all the up she use drugs and alcohol to cover up her instability.

Biography: Edith grew up in a wealthy home. She was an only child and she only had her mother growing up. Edith’s mother was not like other mothers. She was the only mother to have her own company. None of the other moms were like Edith’s mom. Edith did not know, growing up, what her mother had gotten her self into but she never payed any mind to it because she was always fed clothed and happy. Her mother never even mentioned what she did to Edith until she got older. When she was about 16 her mother finally showed her the business, she started grooming her to get into the family business. Edith decided that’s not at all what she wanted so she started to rebel and run away for days at a time. Her mother’s guards would always find her and bring her back home to her mother until she ran away to help with the Coup, a group of old friends hell bent on destroying what the boss and her mother had made.
