Code Name (if applicable): The Rook
Age: Currently Unknown
Gender: Currently Unknown
Appearance: Underneath Rook's armor. (If anyone manages to get close enough), a single grey eye can be seen through the visor of its helm, on the right side of its face. Nothing else can be seen.
Costume Appearance:
Power: Basic Stone manipulation.
Rook is able to manipulate stone, to shape it, move it, control it. At the current moment in time, Rook is only able to control its armor and weapons. However, it is practically a moving mountain, and incredibly difficult to stop. At 8 feet tall, this suit of armor towers over its foes, and is strong enough to smash down walls easily. It is resistant against many things, being entirely immune to electricity, thanks to its armor, and being heavily resistant to traditional weaponry, as bullets have little effect. Due to its weight, it has very little balance, and can be knocked over. Once on its back, it has trouble getting back up. Blades have trouble piercing the armor, however brute, blunt force can knock it onto its back.
Limitations: Anything other than stone is uncontrollable. Additionally, it is unable to control anything other than its armor, and weapons at the moment. It is incredibly slow however, and is rather large, unable to fit in tight spaces. Additionally, water is a MAJOR weakness. The suit of armor does not float, and water inside of the armor can easily drown the mutant inside. Fire is also a weakness, but only in high ammounts. If there is too much, the armor can turn into a furnace, and roast the mutant inside. Additionally, it is quite loud, and is entirely unable to hide.
Class: Vigilante, though mostly neutral.
Bio: Nothing is known about Rook. The suit of armor does no give away even so much as a name. However, several educated guesses could be made. Judging by its simple vocabulary, and lack of knowledge about many things, it came from a rather poor family. It seems to get nervous around people, and is quite suspicious. So, it has probably been betrayed in its past, bullied, or both. It lives alone, in some dark, quiet alleyway, without a family or friends, so it can be guessed that they died, moved away, or were imprisoned.
Rook's history since the landing of the core however, is much more clear. Several days after the core landed, rumors spread of a massive stone figure wandering the city. These rumors became newspaper articles, when this strange stone figure began to go on a vigilante spree. First, a bank robbery. Two armed men had entered one of the city's smaller banks when it was closed. One of them was an employee, who knew how to get inside. A citizen saw them in the act, and phoned the police. However, when the police arrived, a gun battle ensued between the police and the two robbers. One of the robbers seemed to be a crack-shot with the AR-15 he carried, and killed two police officers. However, suddenly, Rook appeared, barreling through the police lines, and simply smashing through the bank's doors, a massive stone club, and a stone shield as tall as a man in its hands. The robber's bullets simply bounced off, as it took the first shooter out, flattening him against the wall with its shield. The second one tried to flee, but a horizontal swing of the club sent him hurling out the window, his spine and many of his ribs broken. The police didn't open fire, out of fear of being the next ones to be flattened, as the suit of armor simply walked out. Over the next few months, Rook would stop several crimes, all of which murders or attempted murders. None of the criminal scum who encountered Rook recieved any mercy, being smashed into pulps.
Other: Can't stop the rock. Also, highfive to anyone who understands where the costume is from. I think he might just be a tad OP. Sorry

Oh. Alrighty.Shog said:I have seen you in action before and think your weaknesses balance out your power. I just figured I would need to see him in action before I made a final decision.
Pretty sure that's not going to pass, it says in the rules that people can't use time powers. :/ New idea perhaps?GimmickPuppet said:Name: Misaki Katsuya
Power: Time Compression: Misaki has the ability to manipulate the flow of time itself, she can either slow it down or speed it up, she can also target a single person and increase the speed they go through time or slow them. However, she cannot reverse time. nor stop their movement through time.
Limitations: She cannot target multiple objects, and she can only control a target as large as a tank.
.
I have no problem with people having a couple of closely related powers, but this is too much and too unrelated. That is unless your power is simply magic, but if that is the case then this RP might not be best for you. And in your bio I do need something. You can state it in a way that hides whatever it is you're trying to hide and I most certainly don't need everything from birth to present. The last thing is more of a pet peeve of mine than anything, but put the picture under costume appearance and under normal appearance state what she wears when she is not in costume. If she always wears her costume, then do the same thing but state she always wears her costume in the normal appearance section. Like I said, the last one is more of a pet peeve than anything.GimmickPuppet said:Name: Misaki Katsuya
Code Name: Warped Witch
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Appearence:
Costume Appearance: Same as in picture above.
Power: Misaki's spells are not predictable, they are highly chaotic in nature and are devastating with the right combination. Here is the list of spells she can do.
Twisty-Turny Blizzaga: Fires an orb of ice at the ground that shoots forward and rebounds off walls.
Lickety-Split Thundaga: Fires a string of lightning bolts at opponents.
Waggle-Wobbly Firaga: Throw a fireball that zig-zags towards opponents and hits multiple times, stunning them.
Havoc Wing: Flip and sprout bone blades to stab opponents.
Trine: Summons three triangles to converge on opponents.
Hyperdrive: Fires a wave of explosions along the ground. Fully charged version pursues the opponent into the air.
Forskaen: Misaki conjures a field of energy that tracks opponents, dropping magical orbs on them from above.
Limitations: She cannot target multiple objects, and gets tired after using a lot of spells in a row.
Class: Villain
Bio: Will reveal in RP.

Code Name (if applicable): Outbreak
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: Unruly blonde hair and green eyes. He is handsome but very dirty looking and his nails are very worn evidence of frequent use of them for tasks unknown.
Costume Appearance: Wears a pale dark green hoodie and black jeans. Under the hoodie is a black t-shirt. All his clothes show severe sign of age and abuse.
Power: Control and manipulate disease. A weaponized virus, dubbed "Killer Bee" that is infused in his body and that he can use to attack people's bodies. Open wounds make it much easier for Barry to affect you and enhance the effects of various disease symptoms.
Limitations: Normal medication won't do much but preventing exposure, ie covering your mouth and skin. It is much more difficult for Barry to penetrate the skin and takes a lot of concentration. Doing this should render Barry harmless, unless he has already diseased your body. In that situation simply get as far away as possible from Barry and he would lose control of the pathogens, which basically makes all the diseases he has placed in your harmless.
Class: Good (...sort of....He won't hurt any other character unless he has reason to believe you will turn him in and he will mercilessly kill anyone, mutant or not, that is associated with the government or military)
Bio(2 paragraphs minimum): Barry was always a quiet boy who studied hard in his home city of San Francisco. I never really had a social life because is overly oppressive parents emphasized getting good grades. So day in day out Barry stayed at home studying without the liberty of going out and seeing the city. All his life, Barry longed to go and meet people. All his life, it's slowly driven him mad.
That was when the Core hit. A sudden rumbling soon followed by all the lights in his house powering down. It stayed like that for a few days until they finally came back on, soon finding out that everyone was to be given a DNA test in order to be catalogued as mutant or not. But the nearest station was several blocks away and he knew his parents wouldn't let him go. So he snuck out and began walking to it. Then it hit him. A wave of pain and naseua racked his body. He fell to the floor and slipped unconscience.
About a week later, Barry woke up in a lab. Or to better fit the description, brightly lit room where he was isolated and was being observed through a window by scientists. The only exit was located just right of the window and it contained the bio chemical symbol that represented danger. Then one of the scientists picks up a mic and and says, "You are to remain where you are. Your mutant body has obtained the ability to infuse itself with a range of diseases and is seemingly unnaffected, as well as being able to manipulate and control the pathogens. You will be kept here and away from the public for disease safety."
Barry stayed there for the 7 months, and the utter isolation drove him overboard. His madness consumed him and he began to plot his escape. One day, a fully suited scientist came to give him his breakfast meal. Instead of grabbing the bowl, however, he grabbed the scientist and unzipped just a tiny bit of his suit. Enough that Barry infected him with diseases of all sorts until the scientist lay motionless on the floor. He then took the scientists key and escaped his room. None of the other scientists were prepared for this and he infected them all with crippling viruses and bacteria rendering them unable to stop him. Then he got out of the lab itself. Walking into the city, New York, Barry found out, and keeping a low profile to keep himself from getting caught by the government or military but not afraid to kill anyone if they ever got in his way.
Look, your last two characters have been magic based in a non-magic world. I can not accept anything magical.GimmickPuppet said:Name: Carly Nagisa

She can also materialize the Witches if they need to fight for her by reciting the text on the card aloud, their attacks are based around the Element they are Aligned to. They are all 1 foot tall, and have only been able to be created in the real world since Carly received her power.
Limitations: Although she can predict her day in general, they only show her the direction of luck she will get. She has no idea what exactly is in store for her, and she can only do predictions when she is calm and happy, bad moods will affect the outcome of her predictions. She can also only summon one Witch at a time to fight for her.
Class: Hero
Bio: Carly was born in Osaka, Japan. Her Father was the manager of a very busy bank, her Mother was a stay-at home mother who looked after Carly. She was 7 when she first received her Fortune-Telling Deck. She isn't a social person, preferring to be alone most of the time, and when she was younger instead of playing with the other children, she went off to a corner and had pretend conversations with the Witches, which worried her parents as she continued to do this until she was 13. She eventually stopped after receiving some harsh home truths, but although it stopped her childish behavior, she became even more withdrawn, only talking when people talked to her, and even then her responses were very short. When she was 16, she moved with her parents to New York, and was entered in High School, ((I'm British, I know nothing of your Education system. PM Me if I put her in the wrong thing and tell me what she should have been in instead at that age.)) where she was bullied as she was quiet and couldn't speak very good English. this continued for a year until the Core struck, giving Carly her perfect predictions and ability to materializes and talk to her Witches, which returned her to her former happy-go-lucky, bubbly self. Now able to speak decent English, she uses her abilities to help others in need of cheering up, often stacking the deck for them, but she doesn't do it for herself.
To put it scientifically, It's not magical, it's wibbly wobbly timey-wimey... stuff.Shog said:Look, your last two characters have been magic based in a non-magic world. I can not accept anything magical.
I assume you are referencing your first character which I was not. I never even saw your first CS except for in a quote. My point remains.GimmickPuppet said:To put it scientifically, It's not magical, it's wibbly wobbly timey-wimey... stuff.
Maybe you could try to have a power where you creat illusion by messing with other people's minds. Kinda make them see what's not really there. That might work.GimmickPuppet said:To put it scientifically, It's not magical, it's wibbly wobbly timey-wimey... stuff.
I was referencing Doctor Who.Shog said:I assume you are referencing your first character which I was not. I never even saw your first CS except for in a quote. My point remains.
Yah, I got that. I'm just trying to find the relevance in it.GimmickPuppet said:I was referencing Doctor Who.
Ok , I nerfed the speed of his chains to half the speed they had before. All good now?Shog said:All the changes are good, but (and I fully admit this is my fault for not catching this sooner) could you please take the maximum chain speed down a bit, or at least say it takes a bit of time to get it that fast or something? Like I said, my fault and I'm not stopping you from RPing.
Yah, I got that. I'm just trying to find the relevance in it.
He does not literally turn into a piece of paper, right? And I would like for you to remove the "teleportation" part. Under limitations I think you can tone down the water part a bit. For instance I think you should still be able to use your powers regardless of weather you are wet or not, but wet paper is harder to control or something along those lines. Anyway, I trust you understand what I mean.Jabrark said:Name: Damian Portney

Gender: Male
Appearance:

Costume Appearance:
- Full Costume, nearly completely paper except for pants and scarf (Ignore black face mask and red eyes), Hair covered in several minuscule paper scraps to give white appearance as a disguise.

- Face Shot (Ignore red eyes)
View attachment 101415
- Mask (Paper folded intensely into a ceramic-like form and material; hardened into density of ceramic items)

Power: PAPER - Damian's power over paper is surprisingly versatile; he can control every form of paper, as well as create pulp and stock out of trace elements. Through special folding abilities and techniques, which would normally require hundreds of pounds of mechanical force, he can form deceptively durable paper armor, as well as projectile weapons.
He is also able to convert his body to adopt the qualities of paper, allowing him to use wind currents to move around, albeit erratically so. He is also capable of a type of teleportation, which consists of suddenly transforming his body into numerous scraps and pieces of paper that quickly disperse, then converge in another location, making him difficult to catch or find.
Limitations: Anything that damages or destroys paper (e. g. Fire, Water, etc.,), Sharp Items not included (Intensified density as described above) Powers unusable if any part of body comes in contact with water, including paper dissipation. Paper recedes back together rapidly reforming him should water touch any of it. Power usable in fire, but will ultimately burn completely if attempted.
Class: Neutral plus relatively calm and passive; however, insanely aggressive, to a borderline blood lust-type sadism, against attackers from any faction.
Bio: Damion lived with his younger and older sisters, Katie and Rachael, ever since he was a child. They had become closer to him than anyone else in his small world. On the brink of entering college, his older sister, Rachael, was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a terminal case of AIDS, inherited from their mother, who was a carrier. Rachael was left in a comatose state after her first ordeal and passed on after two years, around the time Damion was entering highschool. He and Katie fell into their individual depressions and barely ever spoke anymore, even to their parents, or to anyone at school.
One day, when Damion was in his sophomore year of highschool and Katie in her there was an intense shockwave that resonated through their city, and both of them displayed symptoms of remarkable abilities that not even they themselves could understand. Their family had attempted to turn them in to the government, as many people had done so, and if it were not for the two fighting back and escaping, seeking to protect each other. They relied on each other for survival, but remained distant as a result of their guilt for leaving the other alone in their time of pain. They lived carefully in the shadows, avoiding the authorities to the best of their ability, doing anything possible to avoid being cataloged and separated, resorting to living like human cockroaches just to survive.
After several months of living together in this way, they began to grow closer. Eventually, they rekindled their former relationship, supporting each other out of their depressions. Damion and Katie lived peacefully together from then on, making money however they could, from petty theft to working part-time to underworld contracts, they did anything to stay alive, even after the fervor surrounding the mutations subsided; they had no other life to go back to, after all. During this time, they had grown significantly in their powers, discovering their properties and usages quickly and applying them to survival. They were able to get away from authorities easily using their powers to distract them while posing as simple street rats, escaping cleanly from every time... almost.
Around 9 months after the mutations, they were found by a squad of the Heroic Mutants assisting the police on a drug raid. Damion and Katie were simply taking refuge in the area and were mistaken for accomplices to the mutants of organized crime who fought against the heroes to protect their cargo. Damion and Katie fought back to escape, eventually finding an opening. Once they were out, they tried running away, only to be found by the police surrounding the perimeter, who opened fire upon them. Damion tried protecting the both of them, but had not yet learned to solidify his paper yet. Katie was hit in the stomach by a policeman's bullet and died four hours subsequent to the incident. Damion was left alone, having lost his entire family, and his reason to live. However, before Katie's death, she encouraged him to keep living his life so that he might be able to keep fighting. She wanted him to be able to find someone to take her place, so that one day, he could protect her when the time came.
Damion spent weeks in sorrow to mourn her death, then picked himself up and began experimenting with his paper to discover even less conventional uses for it. He discovered its hardening capabilities and its dissipating and reassembling factors and how they associated with his own body. He spent several months investigating more ways to use paper, and nearing his tenthth month since the mutation, he was caught. While manipulating his powers as usual, he was discovered by the military mutants who took him into custody after identifying that he was, in fact, a mutant. They cataloged him swiftly, but due to the process of making new additions to the database, he was kept incarcerated for the remainder of the month.
On the day of his release, only four weeks from the end of the first year, he was abandoned outside the building with nothing to his name once again except for the clothes on his back. He went on his regular way and became a street rat as before. There was a bank being robbed by a group of criminal mutants from the gangs, and he took advantage of the situation to relinquish a large portion of the money for himself ($36,750 to be exact), which was remarkably easy considering it was mostly paper. He then set out to become a secure member of society once more and he started by relieving all accusations against him. He exchanged the stolen money securely through the mutant underworld for licensed dollars, then began to buy himself back to the middle-class lifestyle. He rented a proper apartment to call home and regularly bought groceries. He established a source of income by investing a significant portion of his money ($14,000) into a growing corporation ushering the world into an age of mutant labor known as Black Fist. Despite their animosity toward the mutated population and his animosity to people of such nature, Damion admitted that they were an extremely profitable company to invest in, the dividends coming out over 15% his original investment.
He lived laxly until the end of the year. the whole month, until a group of radicals protesting against the mutants vandalized his apartment building, burning it to the ground because the landlord was a mutant. It was only then that Damion realized that there was no hope for a home for mutants as long as such hate resides in the hearts of the people. From that day on, he placed all his financial assets in a bank account (totaling $110,543 after receiving final dividends and selling his numerous Black Fist shares), which might never be used again, and lived his life as a city hermit, scouring the city of New York as a sheet of paper drifting softly in the wind, watching closely as the days went past and left him behind. While not remaining active in the affairs of normal and mutant humans, he does help all those who ask for it with the greater good in mind, and, to an extent, believes that the ends justify the means.
