You look to your screen as the music everyone knows all to well begins to play. There is a flash of the Capitol symbol before it cuts to President Corinth Snow. Her pale blonde hair is styled into a neat high ponytail, her sleek hair reaching her waist. A smile appears upon her red stained lips before she speaks, "People of Panem, I am here to remind you that the Games are approaching, and I wish you all the best. The Reaping schedule is as follows. I hope to see our lucky tributes soon. May the odds be in your favor. Thank you." With that, the woman dressed in the luxurious white dress disappears and you are left to wonder.
To many, this is nothing but a natural occurrence. The annual Hunger Games in which two tributes are chosen to represent their districts is something everyone has followed for as long as they can remember. Most of the people who'd been involved in the 2nd Revolution had been killed or had passed away from natural causes. No one really recalls those times, and except for some scattered diaries here and there about those who'd taken part in the force that tried to take the Capitol down. Of course, everyone does remember the traitors, examples of what happens to those who challenge the President. Katniss Everdeen was no more.
Everything returned to normality after the traitors had been eliminated and after years of rebuilding, Panem and the Capitol were stronger than ever. There had been a slight break in between, but only for a couple of years before the Hunger Games had been reinstated. They were the compromise in which the nation who'd once again violated their loyalty to the Capitol had to take part in. From the ashes of Snow's family came Celestia. The granddaughter of the President who'd once worn her hair in the style of the Mockingjay was full of anger and hatred. The tributes who'd killed her beloved Grandpa should've killed her when they'd had the chance.
From here on out, Celestia stood to crush any hope that could spark another rebellion that could grow to the scale of the one that had destroyed her beloved nation. 70 years after her, another Snow has risen. A beautiful young and intelligent woman, daughter of Celestia has taken power. In her intentions will lie the future of all the tributes in the 148th Hunger Games. A new breed of district secrets are brewing. Corinth Snow is not as strong as her mother, deep within her, pity is growing.
Will the odds truly be in your favor? Or will hatred conquer?
