~Kieran is a textbook introvert. Extensive social interaction tires him out almost immediately and he can't stand being around large groups of people or parties. Places like that really aren't his scene. In order to destress and relax, he needs plenty of time to himself to pursue his own interests. This is fine by him. He likes being by himself anyways, and people are often more disappointing than he'd hope them to be. Like anyone, he does have occasional bouts of loneliness, but it dissipates quickly when he refocuses on his goals and reminds himself it's better than the alternative; that it's better to be alone than to be surrounded by people who make him feel lonely. Sometimes, he thinks his introversion is how he'll know if a relationship with someone is worthwhile--if being with them makes him feel better than being by himself.
~As touched on a little, he doesn't have many (or really any) close relationships. He doesn't hate people or anything, but he just finds the time he spends with himself so much more engaging. He's not rude or cruel, unless people direct those sentiments at him first. But he is very cold. The few people that have tried to get to know him often find themselves iced out until they eventually give up or lose interest. It's not even something he does intentionally. It's just the vibe he puts off as a natural aura.
~He's a curious and imaginative thinker who tends to get lost in thought. You might occasionally see him wandering the grounds with a far-off look in his eyes--that's the case where he might be there physically, but elsewhere mentally. He's spent time contemplating a lot of things, and aspects of life, and so he has his own beliefs and values that he feels firm and secure in. Though, a new perspective is always welcomed so long as it's introduced fairly, and not forced. He's a drowsy, 3 am chats kind of person. Another aspect of this is that he's good at finding the beauty and the good in a lot of things. For someone so isolated and cold, he has surprisingly warm sentiments.
~He values his freedom and individuality above all else. The idea of conforming to someone else's standards is foreign and repulsive to him, and he never will. In a romantic relationship, he'd like a partner that shares this sentiment. Two people that have their own goals, interests, and go about their own lives, but who stay together because their presence enriches the other. Any relationship, platonic or romantic, in which he feels like his freedom is being encroached on will end swiftly.
~That isn't to say he's not open to change though. Quite the opposite, he's always ready to self-reflect. In arguments, he has an even and calm disposition. He'd never resort to yelling or harsh words, and will instead seek to resolve and compromise in a positive way. If he knows he's hurt someone he cares about, then he wants to know what he can change about his own behavior to be better, and to not repeat the same mistakes again. In this regard, he's fine with changing for a friend or partner, but never the core aspects of his sense of self.
~Some might think him unfeeling due to his lack of emotiveness, but he's just not a very expressive person. Quite the opposite, he's very emotional and in-tune with his thoughts and feelings, and many things can move him on an emotional level. Some might even call him sentimental, or whimsical. It's just that, with words, he's not the best at expressing how he feels and how he thinks. Most of the time, he won't even bother to do so. It would take a very special person for him to ever want to open up to them.
~To those few souls who did manage to find their way into his heart, he cares deeply for them. Because of his even disposition, he makes for a good support, a rock so to speak, and he has a knack for supporting people emotionally despite the apparent lack of his own feelings. Because he's so used to keeping quiet and observing instead, he's a highly perceptive person who can notice even the most minute changes in people he doesn't even know that well. So for loved ones, he'll pick up on their distress right way and steadily but calmly work to alleviate it.
~If you catch him in a particularly good mood, you might be surprised to discover a lax boy and his lofi music with a soft sense of humor and an even softer voice. These hours are rare, but if you find them, you might end up realizing that the old adage, "still waters run deep" has a living example. These times mostly occur late at night, when he's reading into the quiet hours of the morning and just basking in the calmness of the library. And he might be open to telling you some of the secrets in his head.
~As for why he's in Ravenclaw, knowledge for the sake of knowledge has always been important to him. He's curious by nature and wants to know a lot of things about magic, and even beyond. But more than just his intellect, he has an old soul, and so the wisdom and thought processes running through his head that the Sorting Hat saw told the old hat right away that there really was one and only house for this quiet, reserved boy.
~Overall, Kieran is a loner that keeps to himself, preferring to observe and listen rather than speak. But when he does choose to use his voice, it's almost certain that he'll have something interesting to say.

* historyHis parents are known Death Eaters who maimed and killed several people during the last war. They're both currently imprisoned in Azkaban, and Kieran was mostly raised by a grandmotherly figure who fostered several orphans after the war. Despite this Kieran did grow up with his parents for several years before they were eventually caught and so was exposed to that rhetoric. Fortunately for him, they were never abusive (physically) towards their son, but even so, he feared them, and he was glad when they were sent to Azkaban the year before he started Hogwarts. At that point he was taken in by the aforementioned woman who he simply refers to as his grandmother, though there isn't any blood relation. Things were fine when he started Hogwarts and he made a few close friends his first year, but he lost all of them in his third year when the truth came out about his parents and people were sent running. He was hurt, and disappointed, but found solace in his own self and it was okay. Since then, he's gone quietly about his time at school, ranking very high in his year, though without knowing anyone that well. Most people steer clear because of his family history, and though he isn't like his parents, he's fine with that.
