Fantasy The Chronicles of Aloria: The Beginning

"Or you're where you are not exactly wanted." he said off handedly. When they reached the Prancing Pony, he quickly ducked in, gave a nod to the inn keeper, and headed to his room. The inn wasn't as clean as one more profitable, yet it wasn't some dirty hole selling watered down piss. This was a decidedly middling buisness. Well off, but not having an inflated head. Once be was to his room, ge glanced around, made sure that woman wasn't going to come in after him, shut the dkkr and git changed into something clean. After a short while, the door opened again, and there he was in a decidedly cleaner get up. He was wearing his armor, and a back pack with his helmet strapped on it. His two handed maul (hammer) was over one shoulder.

A slight whine filled the air over Thoran, something few had heard before. And those who had and recognized it and their eyes widened in fear. One such man shoved himself from the bar quickly, knocking multiple people over, "CATAPULT FIRE!" He screamed to the occupants of the bar just before an explosIon rocked the small town of Thoran, A ball of fire slamming into the street across from The Wilted Daisy.

Amberlyn shielded her face from the wave of energy and blinked her eyes against the dust and debris that suddenly filled the air immediately around her.

"What in the hells was that?" she shouted. Amberlyn turned from the darkened interior of the tavern and realized that the structure across the street was now engulfed in flames. Several townsfolk laid stunned on the street, some with their clothes on fire.

Amberlyn quickly dashed to the nearest person and frantically began rolling them on the ground to extinguish the flames that ravaged their simple clothes.

"Someone help me get these people out of the street!" Amberlyn ordered as she hollered to elevate her voice over the din of chaos.

Talon tried to hold on to life, tried so hard. But the large shard of wood jutting from his chest had other plans as Talon slowly departed this world for the next.

(I took too long to get into that character and now he's boring. Scrapped. Don't worry I'll have my new character up by today. For now carry on.)

(He's not a people person. And did you want ti see a named dwarf? I thiught nit.)

The woman was stuill there. He wasn't complaining, just making an ovservation. While he was makin that observation, tge ground shook. Everything shook. What the hell happaned? Pooking outside, he saw smoke rising tiwards tge sky. A fire then. Probably in tge vasement of some tacern or in.

Nether and Fenir were rudeky awoken from there sleep when a sudden explosion was heard outside.

"Five more minutes." Nether mumbled as he tossed in his bed. Fenir on the other hand woke and looked through the open window. He understood the danger and bite Nethers ankle to wake him up.

"Ow! What the hell Fenir!" He exclaimed as he glared at the wolf. The said wolf motioned for him to look outside.

"This better be worth it." He muttered as he sleepily went to the window. When he looked outside as another explosion happened right next to him. His eyes widen slightly and he turned to face his friend.

"Thanks for waking me up, now lets go!" He exclaimed as he jumped out of the hotel, Fenir following right behind.

"We need to help these people out of the street or something!" He shouted as he saw a few injured people.

"What's going on! I didn't know the kingdoms were at war!" He exclaimed to his companion as he helped a few injured people.

Vincent rushed from the building down the street, dropping what supplies he had gathered as he rushed to a woman's side and began smothering the Flames, "What the hells going on!?" He asked quickly.

"I was hoping someone knew, I just got here. Also use this, when you extinguish the flames." Nether said to the man as he handed him remedies that were effective on burns. "Are the kingdoms at war I wasn't aware of this." He asked as he began to help another injured when person.

Vincent ignored the items the man gave him. Doctoring burns would come later. Right now these people just needed extinguished.

Nether quickly extinguished the flames that caught onto the people near him. "Fenir help me drag these people somewhere else, they need to get out of harms way.". He said, though his friend was already doing that. "These wounds are bad. We need a healer." He mumbled as he helped another.

Detia headed back outside after the Dwarf had ditched her, her eyes light up when she saw the rain of fire. Something interesting was happening, why was the question.

She quickly followed where the victims were being taken to shelter from the assault and immediately set out to examine their injuries. "Someone bring fresh water and bandages!" she called out, expecting her order to be followed.

The first young man had minor burns and bruising. From her satchel, Amberlyn withdrew a small, clay container, unstopped it and daubed a small amount of her unguent on the wounds. The breath hissed from between the man's teeth as he winced at the pain. "Shush," Amberlyn chided. "It doesn't hurt all that much."

She turned away from him and set about working on the other victims with methodical ease. Wounds were cleaned, poultices applied and bandages put in place as Amberlyn moved from one casualty to the next.

Vincent did his best to help before another fireball slammed down outside. "More wounded! Come on!" He shouted to anyone to go help bring them in.

Amberlyn glanced up from her work on one of the casualties. "Seriously?" she asked rhetorically.

She spied a tall, dark haired fellow with a long sword strapped across his back. "You!" she called out to him. "You seem capable enough," Amberlyn said, then nodded her head toward the door and the chaos that inexplicably rained down on the small village, "can't you do something to stop this attack?"

"I don't even know where it's coming from!" Vincent shouted back, "but there are wounded outside!" He added.

"There are plenty of other people here who can ferry the wounded inside, but only one of you who seems equipped enough to stop this assault."

She moved to the next casualty and continued with her triage. "One thing's for sure," Amberlyn added without looking up. "If you don't stop it, we'll need a morgue instead of a make-shift hospital."

The second fire ball landed near Nether. "Ok That was way too close for my liking. Where should we put these people? No...I need to understand the situation first, more people will die if something isn't done." He said to Fenir though anyone near him could hear. (Nether and Fenir are outside)

((Alright. I'm back. Second one, that's all I understand.))

Floor shaking once more, outside the window he sees a ball of fire fall from the sky. This did not seem magical. More like from a siege engine of some sort. And there was only one way he knew how to take care if it. And that was to hit it as hard as he could with his maul.

A running dwarf is a rather funny sight. Except perhaps when he is barrelling down the street wearing full body armor, hammer raised over his head, screaming bloody murder and face read. Spittle flying from his mout. Or it could only heighten how funny it was.

After putting a few injured in a pub here he saw others gather, Nether and Fenir ran off to see what was going on. As he ran into the direction he assumed the catapults were located he heard someone scream bloody murder. He looked behind him and was almost scared S less when he saw what he assumed to be a mad dwarf chase after him. "What the F-ing hell!" He exclaimed as he picked up his pace. Fenir on the other hand was unsure if he should laugh or catch up to Nether.

It was...eerie.

A cold chill set over everyone in the town. An odd sense of doom settling in.

A loud thumping was heard. Rhythmic.

1..2..1..2.

It was loud. It was vast. And it came from the East...

Vincent froze, "I know that sound... boot steps of an army..." He muttered, hesitantly stepping out the door. The sight outside chilled him to the core.

A large contingent of soldiers marched down the main road. Five men wide ten man deep. But that's not what chilled him...

These men were guided by a bannerman holding a black standard, a pale white skull splashed over it and tinged with blood red maroon.

And they were all dead.

Nether froze in his tracks as he gazed at the men. "Th- Are they undead!? How!?" He exclaimed as he backed away and placed his hand onto his forehead. "I have officially been drinking to much. This has to be some joke!" Though he said that he wasn't foolish enough to believe his own words. 'Damn it! What should I do they out number us! Who are they!?" He questioned as he slowly backed into an alley allowing the shadows to counsel him and Fenir. 'I can't act till I understand the situation." He thought as he and his companion waited to see what would happen next.

A sort of queer smile came on Detia's face, a curious delight in her eyes. Something new, something fascinating, something... Deadly. A sort of thing she had looked for her nearly her whole life long. Maybe even longer than that.
