Setting: Gainesville, GA
Time: 6 AM, 27th of September
Sum 41's popular song 'The Hell Song' started booming through Timothy's Ipod acting as a wake-up call for him which worked effectively. He dreaded getting up in the morning like any other regular teen but it was one of those vital things to start you day. Timothy, getting annoyed with the loud music that was playing, propped himself up with his elbows on his mattress and reached his hand over to his desk to turn off his Ipod. With his hands he pushed his upper body up so he could sit up in his bed. The daylight was seeping into his room through the window as he scanned the area of his room and wiped the sleep from his eyes, doing so. With a yawn, Timothy started to move his legs to the side of the bed where his wheelchair was and carefully tried to scoot himself off the bed to his wheelchair without falling or hurting himself. The effort in doing it himself was always a struggle but it was better than letting his little sister do it for him every morning, the girl already thought she had to do so much more for her older brother which was embarrassing in Timothy's opinion.
"Your up early." Jennifer practically chirped as she walked around the couch and seated herself next to her older brother. Timothy flipped through a few channels to find something good to watch. "Well I have to get in the habit of waking up this early for when I go back to school." Timothy had his accident in May and since Summer break was already on the way his mother pulled him out of school and let him do his school work at home. Jennifer pursed her lips as she relaxed a bit with her brother. "Why do you want to go back to school?" She asked curiously. Timothy put the remote down and leaned forward a bit. "What do you mean?" He looked over to his little sister who looked like she just killed a baby bird. "Well...I mean why not just be home schooled? Wouldn't it be much easier? and you know mom is busy enough so-" She was cut off by her older brother. "Because I want to, Jenny, and if you haven't noticed mom doesn't have the money for a private teacher. Not anymore." Being stuck at home for the rest of his high school year wasn't ideal for Timothy. Jennifer obviously noticed she struck a nerve and simply smiled to her brother with a sweet tone in her voice, "Your right, sorry." Timothy simple waved her off as he looked to the TV screen. The living room was filled with boxes that still needed unpacking which Timmy never had to help with since most of the things that needed placing were places he couldn't reach such as cabinets. "Oh yeah, mom went out to get some groceries. She said she would be back soon and their is breakfast on the table for you." With that said, Jennifer grabbed her bag and made her way out of the house, going to 'Jitterz' where she already scored a job as a waitress in the past two weeks they've been in Gainesville.
Timothy sat in the comfortable, newly cut, green grass of their new house's lawn under the shade of an old oak tree with has back leaning against the bark. His wheelchair was folded up and set on the other side of the tree. Roman, a male Labrador Retriever, was sitting in Timothy's lap as he scratched the dog behind the ear. As he relaxed, Timothy watched kids ride their bikes down the street and old people water their plants. It was a Saturday so pretty much the neighborhood was active. Claire, Timothy's mother, told him that she grew up in Gainesville Georgia which is mainly why she picked this place to move too. It was a quite, peaceful, and friendly place as his mother recalled. In Timothy's perspective he was happy to move, especially since it was away from his father who didn't even try to save his marriage. The a**hole. Timothy looked down and Roman was comfortable resting in his lap, which he showed no sign or intention of moving from for awhile. This made Timothy smile a bit as he leaned his head back and looked up at the leaves and branches that shaded him from the suns light. Slowly he shut his eyes, enjoying the serene sounds that surrounded the neighborhood. It was much different from New York.
